00:00Senior counsel Faris al-Rawi says the Court of Appeals ruling ordering the
00:04immediate conditional release of Dominic and Genevieve Hadid is only one step in
00:09what remains an ongoing legal battle. The court ordered the couple released
00:15under strict supervision, effectively placing them under home confinement while
00:19their constitutional challenge continues. The judges have ordered the immediate
00:23release of our clients under supervision, effectively let me call it home
00:28detention, so there are conditions to be worked out. We expect that this matter is
00:33not at an end. We will be back in court tomorrow. We expect that there may be
00:37applications made today by the state and therefore we continue to work to ensure
00:42that justice prevails in this matter. Al-Rawi said despite the favorable ruling
00:47there was little cause for celebration while the matter remains before the
00:51courts. I could never be pleased in a situation like this that is still ongoing.
00:56When it's all done, then we'll have time to reflect and do sobriety.
01:01So far it's been 20 days of sleep, a good day and night to ensure that we get there.
01:09The senior counsel also voiced concern over the condition of businessman Dominic Hadid
01:14claiming his client had not received adequate medical treatment while in custody.
01:19My clients have been suffering under extreme conditions which have been set out in the
01:25papers. In particular, Mr Hadid's medical condition has been of great concern. He has received not
01:31an ounce of medical care while in the state's custody. We fear that his ability to even walk
01:37away from the courts. And they have moved all of this. I have a lot more to say. We're subdued
01:43to say
01:44effectively and must respect as an officer of the court the rules and functions of what we say and do.
01:49It's suffice it to say that this story is not at an end. We expect that there will be challenges
01:54in
01:54appeals. Al-Rawi said the legal team will return to court on Friday as proceedings continue in the
02:00substantive constitutional challenge surrounding the preventive detention orders.
