Why was Teresa's mom so toxic if she seemed so "nice"?
The universe of Mexican telenovelas is full of villainous, narcissistic, and cruel mothers who commit great acts of evil against their own children.
They sabotage the main couple, act purely out of self-interest, and sacrifice the happiness of those they should love most in the world, among many other things.
But then… why did Teresa's mom manage to rise to the podium of the most hated mother in the entire universe of Mexican soap operas, even though her character wasn't essentially evil and doesn't fit that stereotype of the great villain we're used to seeing?
