00:05Oh, no point in the script. That's what was funny about this process, that I read the script and I
00:11was like, huh, huh.
00:14I can't see it because of, first of all, the character is so empowered and I find that to, I
00:24don't, you know, in my own personal life,
00:26I feel like I'm still looking to be that empowered and I'm still looking to find ways to be on
00:31my front foot and feel comfortable with that,
00:33which is why I want to play these characters who I imagine are, I'm going to absorb some of their
00:37goodness, right?
00:38But the other point was that in the script it was just like all hymns, like bookmarks of hymns that
00:44we might, that might be used in this moment
00:46and then they're going to be moving and dancing and I couldn't envision any of it.
00:50I couldn't hear the hymns and I couldn't envision the dancing because I had so far to go.
00:55And that's why I was like, I, you don't know.
00:58And so I was, I was offering Mona some options of who could play Anne Lee after I read it.
01:04And who did you throw out there?
01:06Olivia Cooke.
01:10Solid.
01:10She was my first choice for Anne Lee.
01:13But it came together the way it should.
01:14It did. And also Mona and I, I mean, she has a, she has this trust in me that I,
01:20I needed to,
01:21I needed to absorb that for myself and, and I did, I totally did.
01:26But I also just trust her and as she's a very clear vision as an artist.
01:30She's, and she, she's, you know, unrelenting.
01:33She, she's just completely committed to, to, to the journey and to her, to her own voice
01:39and to her own clarity and imagination.
01:41And that is, it's, it's a beautiful thing, especially in a very nurturing woman.
01:47So I just had to kind of let go and be like, all right, I'll follow you up this massive
01:51hill,
01:53metaphorical hill.
01:55But it was good.
01:55Yeah, it was, it worked out for all of us, for sure.
01:57It was really impactful.
