00:26To support their claims, several accounts have shared video clips of experts and other public figures discussing the environment.

00:54It concerns a scientific facility called HARP, the High-Frequency Active Aurora Research Programme.
01:01Launched in the 90s, it was designed to study the ionosphere, the upper layer of Earth's atmosphere,
01:06by transmitting high-frequency radio waves and observing how charged particles respond.
01:12Since 2015, the facility has been operated by the University of Alaska,
01:17and its research activities has been publicly documented.
01:20There is no evidence that HARP can manipulate the weather or that it has anything to do with the heatwaves
01:25affecting Europe.
01:27And this has been debunked multiple times.
01:29In fact, weather forms in the troposphere and stratosphere, where HARP's signals are not absorbed.
01:35Scientists described the high temperatures across Europe as the result of a persistent high-pressure weather system
01:41that trapped hot air over Western Europe and was made intense by climate change.
