00:20Ni-require na po talaga the whole population of the Coast Guard
00:23100% po dapat marunong kami nito
00:26including yung basic guard support
00:29of course good swimmer din ang Coast Guard
00:31other than of course the three functions of the Coast Guard
00:33of safety, saving guys of property at sea
00:36environmental protection and security
00:38so with this partnership
00:40mas lumawak pa po ang aming reach
00:42and of course visibility sa taong bayan
00:47maayos po ang aming partnership
00:49ang kooperasyon po ng Galpins Pharma
00:51with the Philippine Coast Guard
00:53especially with the Civil Relations Service
00:55and of course with the help of our Philippine Coast Guard Auxiliary
00:58our volunteer group po
01:00napakagaling po ng leadership po
01:04guys under our PNR po on that part
01:07we value sir yung cooperation
01:10any other non-government organization
01:14alam naman po natin sa gobyerno natin
01:17medyo may kapulangan din po
01:18pero nakaka-complement po ng mga NGOs po
01:22at ng mga volunteer groups din po
01:25para po sa Philippine Coast Guard
01:27at sa sambayan na din po
01:29like for the provision of the CPR
01:31and any other programs that they have
01:37we are very happy with the turnout today
01:42so we feel this is a very important milestone
01:46as far as the SAGIP CPR advocacy is concerned
01:52so if I look back
01:54a year ago
01:56in August precisely
01:58we started SAGIP CPR
01:59in Cagayan de Oro
02:01so at that time
02:04we had some difficulties
02:07looking for partners
02:08and people who thought
02:10in a similar manner
02:16people who appreciated the importance
02:18of such an advocacy
02:21but that was last year
02:23and in the last few months
02:25we have come into contact
02:28with the Coast Guard
02:30so we particularly
02:32and the Coast Guard
02:32has really helped
02:33to open up a lot of doors for us
02:36as far as that advocacy is concerned
02:38so I'm very happy that
02:41Rear Admiral De Guzman
02:43has chosen to
02:45take some time
02:46today from his busy schedule
02:48to join us
02:49so this advocacy
02:51we've done about
02:5250 or so
02:54over the last
02:56over the last year
02:58we realized
02:59wow it's going to break our back
03:01for us to be able to train
03:02a million Filipinos
03:04kasi yung 50 na advocacy na yun
03:07siguro mga 52,000 pa lang
03:09na train on
03:10but that was a grueling schedule
03:12there was a time
03:13in February
03:14where we did about 20
03:15so in a month of 28 days
03:19we did about 20 events like this
03:21and you can imagine
03:23how hectic the month was
03:26so we thought
03:28the best way
03:29to conduct this
03:31moving forward
03:31is to have
03:33some sort of a multiplier effect
03:34and that's where
03:36the Coast Guard
03:37Cebu
03:39the LGUs
03:40in this
03:41in this particular
03:42Cebu
03:42can help
03:44we have also conducted
03:47with
03:47a CPR training
03:49with the OTR
03:51in
03:52in
03:53in the Paranaque
03:56interchange
03:56PITX
03:57so
03:58and I thought that was a very good model
04:00for how we would conduct this
04:02moving forward
04:03because
04:03what we did there
04:04was to train the
04:06traffic enforcers
04:07along EDSA
04:08the bus
04:10bus owners
04:11the bus conductors
04:13and the bus drivers
04:14so
04:15thinking
04:16is
04:17while we can train
04:18maybe
04:18that time
04:19we trained about a thousand
04:21but the impact
04:22is huge
04:23because
04:24when you think
04:24the number of commuters
04:27in the Paranaque
04:27interchange
04:28there are 200,000
04:30a day
04:31if I'm not mistaken
04:32so
04:33imagine
04:34200,000
04:36people
04:37now feeling safer
04:38because
04:40the enforcers
04:42assigned to these
04:44stations
04:45are now
04:45trained
04:46to be able
04:47to intervene
04:48in the most
04:49...
05:14...
05:16...
