00:01U.S. forces launched strikes on Iran for a third straight night early on Tuesday,
00:07prompting further retaliation from Tehran as it targeted two UAE-linked tankers in the
00:12Strait of Hormuz as well as Bahrain. The United Arab Emirates Defense Ministry
00:18said that the attack on the ships killed one mariner and wounded eight others.
00:23The renewed strikes come as Iran and the U.S. both vie for control of the vital strait.
00:29U.S. President Donald Trump has now suggested his administration would start charging tolls
00:33for ships going through the waterway after previously suggesting that it wouldn't.
00:38We're hitting them very hard. We had a deal yesterday or the day before yesterday was all done
00:43and then they broke up that deal immediately because they found out there was something in
00:47the deal they didn't like. And they're wired differently and we're not going to put up with
00:51it. We are just going forward. We're attacking them tonight. We're taking out all of the
00:57capability for anything having to do with the straight, with the Hormuz straight. And I think
01:03in the end, we will end up discontinrolling the whole thing. And what they're doing is being
01:09very foolish, very stupid, and they've treated people horribly.
01:12Iran's foreign ministry spokesman said that the June Memorandum of Understanding that formed the
01:17basis for the negotiations and lifted the U.S. blockade was in crisis.
01:22Despite the escalation in hostilities, Trump asserted on Monday night that a deal was still possible.
