00:00The Hungarian Parliament has approved the 17th Amendment to the Constitution,

00:07139 members of Parliament voted in favor, 6 against, and 54 did not vote.
00:13Fidesz and the Christian Democratic People's Party, KDMP, protested the move
00:17and boycotted the National Assembly session.
00:20Among the opposition, only the representatives of the far-right Miha Zang Party voted.
00:25Prime Minister Peter Macar argued that it would be a betrayal of the Hungarian nation
00:29not to amend the Fidesz-drafted Constitution, which he described as the founding document
