00:02Early results are trickling in for the Johor state election, with Barisan National taking
00:07a commanding lead in the unofficial count.
00:10As of 8pm, the coalition was leading in 49 of the 56 state seats based on unofficial results.
00:18Barisan National candidate Ling Tiansun has secured 11,473 votes, while Pakatan Harapan
00:25candidate Yonghui Yi has obtained 7,476 votes.
00:30Caretaker Johor Mentori Besar Datuk On Hafiz Ghazi is leading in matchup with 14,996 votes,
00:38while Pakatan Harapan's Noor Hafiz received 4,060 votes.
00:43In a Facebook post at 6.27pm, OMNO Secretary General Datuk Dr Asraf Wajdi Dusuki said Barisan
00:52National was leading in 33 seats after polling closed at 6pm.
00:57He said Pakatan Harapan was ahead in seven seats, while Perikatan National, Bersama and the Malaysian
01:04United Democratic Alliance had yet to secure any seats.
01:09Meanwhile, the atmosphere at Pakatan Harapan's Information Centre at Indrapura Hall, Pulai
01:14Springs Resort in Johor Bahru, remained subdued as of 7pm.
01:19Polling began at 8am, with voting centres closing in stages throughout the day.
01:24As of 5pm, voter turnout stood at 67.44%, with more than 1.8 million of Johor's 2.6 million
01:33registered voters having cast their ballots.
