00:00Sir, in the chapter 101, you tell us about not seeking social validation, but every day we come across judgments,
00:08feedbacks, and you also talk about being yourself. Don't bother about others' opinion. So, where actually you draw the line?
00:18Just as one has to be discreet about what others say of him, one also has to be cautious of
00:29oneself. Reason being, others don't exist merely on the outside. Others penetrate and start living in the head.
00:39Others, when they appear on the outside, are probably less dangerous because you can see that being on the outside,
00:52they are others, that they are not you, not the self.
00:56And then you can say, ah, this person is trying to command and dominate me. I need to be cautious.
01:02However, this tells that one has not bothered to look inwards. When he speaks from there, it will be called
01:12as his voice.
01:14When the same person speaks from here, I will call that as my voice. Now, this is much more dangerous.
01:22What you call is your opinion. It's just a parroted voice coming from here, there, this, that, that, that, that,
01:30that, that.
01:31And that's a deeper slavery. And therefore, self-awareness is extremely important.
01:39One has to continuously ask, what's the source, the center of my action? Where am I coming from? Where am
01:47I coming from?
01:47Otherwise, one will say, I no more follow the society. I follow myself.
01:52And in following oneself, one would be indirectly following all kinds of social pressures and blind currents and all that.
