President Donald Trump has reignited the Greenland dispute, insisting that the United States should take control of the strategically important Arctic island. Trump argued that Greenland is surrounded by growing Chinese and Russian activity and criticized Denmark for refusing to hand over the territory.

The renewed dispute has sparked fresh tensions between Washington and its European allies. Frustrated by the lack of support from NATO members, Trump warned that the United States could withdraw American troops from Europe if allies continue to oppose his position.

Denmark has firmly rejected Trump's demands, with Prime Minister Mette Frederiksen declaring that Greenland is not for sale. Greenland's leaders have also reiterated that the island's future will be decided solely by its own people.

Will this latest clash reshape U.S.-Europe relations? Watch the full report for the latest developments on the Greenland crisis, NATO tensions, Arctic security, and the growing geopolitical rivalry involving the United States, Russia, and China.

00:00Greenland is very important for the United States, but it's not important for Denmark.
00:03In fact, when Denmark was overrun by the Nazis in less than one day,
00:09Hitler beat them out in one day, took over.
00:12They asked us to take care of Greenland.
00:14In fact, we took Greenland, and then stupidly we gave it back.
00:18We shouldn't have given it back to them, because we're the ones that need it.
00:21We need it for protection of the world, not just the United States.
00:25And it's very important. It doesn't help Denmark, but it helps us.
00:29And it's very important for us.
00:30And, again, they were defeated very quickly.
00:34Denmark was beaten in one day, less than one day, by the Nazis, by Hitler.
00:38And when this happened, they immediately switched it over to us.
00:42We owned it. We had it.
00:44We were taking care of it, and then we gave it back, which is, I don't know why.
00:48I wouldn't have given the Panama Canal back either.
00:50You know, so what do I know?
00:52I certainly wouldn't have done that, because China's trying to take over the Panama Canal,
00:55and that's not going to happen.
00:58So, but I just, you know, it's interesting.
01:00I'm very unhappy with NATO, and yet this man is a great leader, and he gets it.
01:05He gets it.
01:06Gets it maybe better than some of the leaders.
01:08But it's also a very interesting question.
01:10To me, I think it's over.
01:14I don't want to deal with them anymore.
01:15They're scum.
01:16You know what scum is?
01:17They're scum.
01:18They're sick people.
01:19They're led by sick people.
01:20And they're vicious, violent people.
01:24And if they had a nuclear weapon, they'd use it.
01:27As far as I'm concerned, it's over.
01:28I'll speak to our negotiators.
01:30They want to negotiate.
01:31They're good people.
01:33Steve Whitcoff, Jared Kushner.
01:35But they have to come back to me.
01:37As far as I'm concerned, it's just a waste of time dealing with them.
01:40They're liars.
01:42We make a deal.
01:43And if I make a deal with him, we have a deal.
01:45And he goes out.
01:46He talks.
01:47We make a deal.
01:48Everyone's agreed.
01:49No nuclear weapon.
01:50We make a deal.
01:51They go outside, talk to the press.
01:53They say we never even talked about it.
01:54There's something wrong with them.
01:56They're cuckoo.
01:58As far as I'm concerned, it's over.
02:01We definitely don't.
02:02The talks won't resume after we get through the funeral proceedings.
02:06What?
02:07Does this mean that talks with Iran will not resume after the funeral?
02:10I don't care.
02:10They can talk.
02:11But I think they're wasting their time.
02:13They're a bunch of lying guys.
02:14I do it.
02:15My whole life, that's all I do is deals.
02:17My whole life is that's how I became president, I guess.
02:19That's a deal too, right?
02:20But I made a lot of money.
02:22I had a lot of great success.
02:25Tremendous success.
02:25Everything I did, I was successful.
02:27And I deal with these guys and I say, this is from a different school.
02:31They're liars.
02:33They're cheats.
02:34They're sick people.
02:36They've hurt their people.
02:37They killed 54,000 people as of now that were protesting.
02:42You know, when people say, how come they haven't taken over?
02:44They can't take over because they're dead.
02:47They killed them.
02:48Nobody's going to take over.
02:49They have no guns.
02:50And the other side has machine guns.
02:52And they're killing them.
02:53The press doesn't report it.
02:55But they're bad people.
02:56They're bad people.
02:58And frankly, I don't want to waste my time with them.
03:02Now, I'll let our wonderful negotiators keep talking if they want.
03:07But I don't see it.
03:08I don't like these people.
03:10You know that?
03:11I like him.
03:11I like the leaders.
03:12I like, I think all of these leaders.
03:14Great.
03:14And they love them.
03:15I think they didn't treat the United States fairly for many years, but that's okay.
03:20But they're sane, rational, good people.
03:23Most of them.
03:24I don't like a couple of them, to be honest.
03:26But they're a couple I don't like much.
03:27And I hear some people saying about their relationship with Israel.
03:32They could have gotten into the fight.
03:34They're a very powerful military nation.
03:37They didn't do that.
03:38Maybe they didn't do that because of me.
03:40But they could have gotten into the fight on the other side.
03:45They are a nation that's been very, very good.
03:49And I can only, I can speak for myself as president.
03:53They've been extraordinary in many ways with respect to our relationship, including trying
03:59to end the war with Iran or whatever you call it.
04:02It's not even a war.
04:03It's a military operation.
04:05It's a denuclearization.
04:08That's really what it is of Iran because I don't think he wants to see them have a nuclear
04:12weapon either.
04:13I'm pretty sure of that.
04:15In fact, I'm totally sure of that.
04:18So, but when they buy a product from us, whether it's a plane or anything else,
04:22when it's time for maintenance, I think we have, don't we have an obligation to help
04:26them?
04:26What are we going to say?
04:27We're not going to, we're not going to let you use the product that you spent a lot
04:31of money in buying.
04:32And especially when it's been some money that frankly has been more helpful to the United
04:39States than many other more traditional countries.
04:44Mr. President, Mr. President, you will meet President Zelensky tomorrow, sir.
04:48You will meet President Zelensky tomorrow.
04:49Should we expect a breakthrough soon?
04:52Where are we at Ukraine?
04:53Mr. President, I had a very good talk with President Putin, who, by the way, has a lot
04:57of respect for President Erdogan, a lot of respect for him.
05:02We had a long talk yesterday, it lasted a long time.
05:05And I also spoke with President Zelensky right after that.
05:10I think they both want to make a deal.
05:13It's too bad it took so long.
05:15But I think there's going to be, something's going to come out.
05:18And the President's also helping us with that.
05:20But I think there's something, you know, I settled eight wars.
05:24And I think we're going to be settling a night.
05:26It doesn't seem likely now, but sometimes when, with war, I see when it's least likely,
05:32that's when it happens.
05:34I had a very good talk with President Putin.
05:36I had a very good talk with, I would say, as a combination.
05:38A lot of times I'd do well with Putin and Zelensky would be a problem.
05:43Or vice versa.
05:44Zelensky would be great.
05:46And Putin would be.
05:47They both want to get it settled now.
05:50That's all I do in my life is deals.
05:53No deals.
05:54And I think we're going to get it settled.
05:59Hopefully soon.
06:01Last month, 35,000 mostly soldiers died.
06:06The month before that, it was 24,000.
06:09The month before that, it was 27,000.
06:12And the month before that, it was 29,000.
06:14But last month, there was 35,000 young soldiers, mostly soldiers died.
06:21And that's crazy.

07:15We're going to be taking the sanctions off, okay?
07:19I don't want him to waste his time answering that question
07:22because we're working very closely with Marco Rubio,
07:27a very famous man, great Secretary of State,
07:30and with Scott Bassett and with Pete and everybody else.
07:33We're going to be taking the sanctions off.
07:35It's time to do that, okay?
07:39Mr. President, can you do something?
07:41You don't want to sanction friends. It's very simple.
07:44There's plenty of people we can sanction, and we are sanctioned.
07:47We don't want to sanction friends.
07:49And because of the President, you know, we have a very good relationship
07:53with the new leader of Syria, and he's done an amazing job.
07:58In a year and a half, he's pulled the whole country together.
08:00And I have a very great relationship with him.
08:03And somebody said, well, he's pretty rough to put him there.
08:06I approved him along with the President.
08:08We were the two that really wanted him, and he's done a great job.
08:12He's done a great job. He's pulled it together.
08:14It's not an easy job.
08:16Mr. President, can you clarify what you meant with your social media post yesterday
08:21with respect to Prime Minister Maloney?
08:23That true social post with the restraining order?
08:26I don't know. I think she's a nice person, actually.
08:28We've had a bad relationship, but it became a little bad because she refused to help us.
08:35Again, I didn't put a heavy press on her.
08:37But she refused to get involved with the hormone strain.
08:42Or you could also say just Iran. She refused to get involved.
08:46So it soured my relationship with her a little bit.
08:50But I like her. I think she's a nice person, actually.
08:52But I think she made a mistake.
08:54You know, they get a lot of their oil from them.
08:56We don't get any of oil. We have a lot of oil.
08:57The United States has more oil than anybody.
09:00And when you add Venezuela to it, it's like we have far more oil than anybody.
09:05We don't need the straits.
09:07We do this because we think it's an important thing to do.
09:09But she just wasn't there for us.
09:14And I wasn't happy about that.
09:16You can imagine. I wasn't happy about that.
