00:00Greenland just sent Donald Trump a message, and it couldn't be clearer.
00:23We choose Denmark, not the United States.
00:27In a rare and blunt moment on the world stage, Greenland's Prime Minister Jens Frederik Nielsen
00:34publicly pushed back against Donald Trump's repeated threats to take over the Arctic Island.
00:40Standing alongside Denmark's Prime Minister in Copenhagen, Nielsen didn't mince words.
00:46He said if Greenland has to choose between the U.S. and Denmark, the choice is already
00:51made, Denmark, NATO, and the European Union.
00:55But there's one thing everyone must understand.
00:58Greenland will not be owned by the United States of America.
01:02Greenland does not wish to be governed by the United States.
01:05Greenland does not want to be a part of the United States.
01:09We select the Greenland we know today, and which is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
01:13He even warned that Greenland is now facing a geopolitical crisis, adding that the pressure
01:20coming from Washington is completely unacceptable.
01:24Trump has repeatedly claimed the U.S. needs Greenland for national security, warning that
01:28America will get it one way or the other to block Russia and China.
01:32If we don't take Greenland, Russia or China will take Greenland, and I am not going to
01:38let that happen.
01:39Is there any deal they can offer you?
01:41Yeah, sure.
01:42I'd love to make a deal with them.
01:44It's easier.
01:45But one way or the other, we're going to have Greenland.
01:47But Greenland says no, not now, not ever.
01:52The U.S. already has a military base in Greenland, with over 100 troops stationed there.
01:57And legally, America can deploy more.
02:00But Trump says that's not enough.
02:02He wants ownership, not just access.
02:05That demand has rattled Denmark, Greenland, and America's NATO allies, many of whom are
02:10now openly backing Denmark's sovereignty.
02:13Nielsen made it crystal clear, Greenland does not want to be owned by the U.S., does not
02:19want to be governed by the U.S., and does not want to become part of the U.S.
02:24With high-stakes talks set to take place in Washington, tensions are rising fast, and
02:29the Arctic is suddenly one of the most dangerous chessboards on Earth.
02:34So the question is, will Trump back down, or is this standoff only just beginning?
02:40But there's one thing everyone must understand.
02:43Greenland will not be owned by the United States of America.
02:47Greenland does not wish to be governed by the United States.
02:50Greenland does not want to be a part of the United States.
02:54We select the Greenland we know today, and which is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark.
02:59I think our internal relations in this community we have are something we continuously discuss
03:03and always have, but the time right now is for us to stand together.
03:08Greenland is a part of the Kingdom of Denmark and is completely united in its efforts to
03:12protect the fundamental principles that are present in the world.
