00:49had it not been for this experience.
00:51As an actress, it's such a luxury
00:53to be in such an immersive space.
00:55I don't have to pretend like I'm on a boat.
00:57I'm on the boat, you know?
00:58Like we are at sea.
01:00What a gift, you know?
01:02There's a certain level of information
01:04that you learn when something is real.
01:06So when you go to these places
01:08you just feel it
01:09and it just adds another layer
01:11to what it is that you're trying to express.

01:15One of the things I like
01:16about shooting on location
01:17is we're moving countries
01:19every couple of weeks.
01:20So it gives you this incredible momentum.
01:24The issue on this film
01:26is that we're shooting
01:26in extraordinary places
01:27that we're hard to get to,
01:29hard to shoot in.
01:30You know, normally
01:31if you're doing a Hollywood movie
01:32at the base camp
01:33it's 10 seconds away from the set.
01:35When you're shooting
01:36a Chris Noder movie, it's like,
01:37oh, that's a 45-minute hike
01:38in sandals.
01:40They're full-constumed.
01:42I mean, every location we went to
01:44I would get there
01:45and I'd just start laughing,
01:46go like, who thought
01:47you should shoot a movie here?
01:50You know, we're shooting
01:51in Nestor's Cave in Greece.
01:53It's this incredible place.
01:54But nobody's ever tried
01:55to shoot a film up there.
01:57And so to see the rigging
01:58that they did
01:59to basically turn it
02:00into a natural sound stage,
02:02I don't know any other director
02:04who would try it.
02:06There was no location
02:08that was straightforward and easy.
02:10But all of those locations
02:12made sense for the story really.
02:14It wouldn't be the film
02:15that it is without going there
02:17and doing it for real.
02:19The scale was so, so big.
02:23I think what's so special
02:24about Chris's movies
02:25is that he goes the extra distance
02:27to make it feel authentic
02:28for us on set,
02:30which then makes it feel more authentic
02:31for the audience in the theater.
02:33I mean, there's a reason
02:34we call these things odysseys.
02:36This is the odyssey
02:37and it really is a journey
02:39through all of these incredible places
02:41and hopefully something
02:42that just really profoundly
02:44entertains and moves people.
02:45as a fan, I'm so excited.
02:48I cannot wait to sit
02:50in that IMAX theater
02:51and completely be lost
02:53in this world that he's created.
