00:00The wider football community is starting to feel uncomfortable and has been for quite some time
00:06with this relationship, not just between Gianni Infantino and President Trump,
00:11but the broader relationship between football and politics. And it was ironic in many ways that the
00:18former FIFA president, Seb Blatter, was one of the first people to call out FIFA suspending
00:25Balogun's red card. And he was the focal point of the old FIFA, what Gianni Infantino called the
00:31dirty FIFA. And suddenly we've come full circle to two presidents, a FIFA and a US one, that are so
00:40closely intertwined that Infantino was late for a FIFA Congress because he was at peace talks with
00:46Donald Trump that had nothing to do with football. The World Cup draw in Washington had a FIFA peace
00:52prize, invented so Infantino could give Trump an award after he didn't win the Nobel Peace Prize.
00:58And when you look at the backdrop of all of these mini incidents and then add this one to the
01:04mix
01:05as well, the wider football community has scrutiny, less so actually on President Trump, although that
01:11may be different in America from journalists outside of soccer. But within our football community,
01:16the fingers are being pointed at Gianni Infantino, and he's done the right thing by coming out and
01:22being transparent with a statement. But ultimately, these allegations that football and politics and
01:31Infantino and Trump are too tied together are not going to go away unless in this particular case,
01:38Gianni Infantino forces the independent panel and the FIFA disciplinary commission to publish the
01:45detailed reasons of how they've come to this decision.
