00:00This is the one that I've been doing for a while.
00:06This is the one that I'm doing.
00:15I'm going to go to the next stage.
00:19I'm going to go back to the next stage.
00:38...the very hot phase of this conflict, which is the subject of a fragile ceasefire.
00:43Last year was about the buck, this year it's about the bang.
00:47So last year was about pledging the defence spending and this year is about how do you spend it.
01:22So for the European officials, the European leaders who are coming here, the main idea is to set aside tension
01:28with Donald Trump, particularly over the war in Iran, and show that they are taking on more of the burden
01:34for Europe's security.
01:35So that's what they want this summit to be about. Last year they pledged to have a big increase in
01:40defence spending and this year they want to show that they're stepping up, that that spending is happening and they
01:46will announce a bunch of arms deals here, which are meant to show they're really delivering on their provinces.
01:52So, I think NATO's making a very foolish mistake and I've long said that, you know, I wonder whether or
01:59not NATO would ever be there for us.
02:02So this was a great test, because we don't need them, but they should have been there when we had
02:07the B-2 bombers bomb the nuclear potential. I call it the nuclear death.
02:21One thing we're very disappointed, I'll say it publicly, we're very disappointed with NATO, because NATO has done absolutely nothing.
02:30And I've always said 25 years ago, I mean I was somebody that wasn't a politician, but I was always
02:35involved in politics and I understood politics.
02:38I said 25 years ago that NATO's a paper tiger, but more importantly that we'll come to their rescue, but
02:45they will never come to ours.
02:46It is a big challenge, Donald Trump's unpredictability. Literally nobody knows for sure what kind of mood he's going to
02:54be in, what his attitude to NATO will be when he turns up at this summit.
02:57He's posted a couple of critical things on social media. On the other hand, some American officials have predicted a
03:04very successful summit.
03:06And it's really the job of Mark Rutte, the NATO Secretary General, to shepherd this summit to a successful conclusion.
03:12He's known to have a very good relationship with Donald Trump. So this is where that really is put to
03:17the test.
03:27We are now at this 5%, the huge success in The Hague at the NATO summit, the fact that Europeans
03:34are also stepping...
03:35South Korea and Japan. In South Korea I'll be meeting with a very good relationship, but that'll be a big
03:43one. We cancelled the meeting with President Putin. It just...
03:46One of the things that the European allies here will announce is that they're going to pledge €70 billion in
03:55military aid to Ukraine for this year and the same again for next year.
03:59Now that number is not quite as impressive as it might sound because a lot of it is repackaging money
04:05that's already been committed.
04:06So for example the European Union has already agreed a €30 billion loan for military assistance to Ukraine.
04:14Various other countries have already pledged bilateral aid. So already you're getting quite close to the €70 billion for this
04:20year.
04:20The European Union has also changed.
04:22I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry I'm sorry.
04:38I'm sorry. I'm sorry. I'm sorry I'm sorry. I didn't even know that you're getting away.
04:43I haven't been here. I have to go to the rest of the military because of the military.
04:46They've got a plan. I'm sorry for the military. I've got to the streets now.
05:08I'll see you next time.
05:21I certainly think that the Europeans and the Ukrainians will be pleased.
05:25If there is a substantive, substantial meeting between President Trump and President Zelenskyy,
05:31they had hoped for one of those at the G7 recently, it didn't really come about.
05:35There was a kind of brief encounter, but not a proper substantive meeting.
05:39So if that can take place here at the NATO summit, I think the Ukrainians and the Europeans
05:44will see that as a positive as long as it goes well.
05:47You're playing cards, you're gambling with the lives of millions of people, you're gambling
05:52with World War III, you're gambling with World War III, and what you're doing is very disrespectful
06:00to the country, this country, that's backed you far more than a lot of people said they
06:06should have.
06:06Have you said thank you once, this entire meeting?
06:09No, in this entire meeting have you said thank you?
06:12Thanks for lunch.
06:13I don't know, was it a good lunch?
06:15Yes, sir.
06:16There's no lunch, he walked in, he said this place is gorgeous, I don't think he wants
06:19to go to the White House anymore, that's the problem.
06:22I'm ready to go to the White House.
06:24I know.
06:36So I think it will be partly dependent on events on the ground if you like, if there
06:41is a flare up in the conflict while the leaders are gathered here, and partly how much of an
06:45issue Donald Trump chooses to make of it, particularly his dissatisfaction with European allies over
06:51the Iran war, which they, for their part, have tried to avoid for the most part being very
06:57critical of, but really weren't happy about, weren't consulted, caused a lot of economic
07:01trouble in their economies.
07:03So...
07:04Ladies and gentlemen of the American media, this is important.
07:06Would you block a final Iran deal that includes any kind of fees on shipping?
07:12Yeah, no, it would be unacceptable to me, because we have numerous straits, and if you
07:16did that for them, you'd have to do it for other people.
07:18You have other straits, I wouldn't allow it there either.
07:21Yeah, it would be a game changer.
07:34The Europeans are certainly not looking for a fight over Iran, so a lot then depends on
07:38how Donald Trump chooses to play it.
07:41But the Europeans will try and show they're willing to be helpful with the post-war situation.
07:45They're ready to contribute ships to ensure freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz,
07:51so they will try and kind of show they're willing to be constructive here, but they will
07:54hope that it doesn't overshadow the summit.
08:25I'm going to die with the aluminio on the top two of the mountain.
08:25One of the European cameras was to play on the national stage.
08:25So, Êx, people do not want to assume so that they will train, but they will be afraid they
08:25will be afraid of the pressure.
08:25Now, come on, come with me, and let me go.
08:31I'm going to die first of this one, I'm going to be afraid of them.
08:35So, I'm going to be afraid of them.
