00:00Welcome back. After the devastating earthquakes that struck Venezuela, a dog named Tsunami
00:05became a true hero and a symbol of hope for the entire country. Let's see.
00:11A Venezuelan rescue dog of the Border Collie breed
00:17played a key role in rescuing victims of the devastating earthquakes of June 24, 2026.
00:26This noble dog was found as a puppy living in deplorable conditions,
00:31with a past marked by abuse and neglect. His life changed radically when Jorge Beans,
00:40director of the Disaster Response Canine Team Training Center, adopted him and gave him a second chance.
00:50Since then, Tsunami has become his inseparable companion and an expert at locating trapped people.
01:00Tsunami is a dog that was rescued from neglect. The people who had him didn't take care of him.
01:05They were irresponsible. A complaint was filed. A lot of people helped me adopt him because I
01:12couldn't keep him at home due to his health condition. And today, Tsunami is a four-legged angel.
01:20Tsunami's experience as a rescuer began in 2023, when he was part of the international rescue
01:26teams that traveled to Turkey and Syria following devastating earthquakes.
01:34There, amid the dust and rubble, he demonstrated his courage by locating several survivors,
01:39leaving an indelible mark on those he rescued. However, his greatest challenge was yet to come.
01:49On June 24, 2026, a pair of earthquakes measuring 7.2 and 7.5 on the Richter scale
01:57shook Venezuela, wreaking havoc and leaving a desolate scene in their wake.
02:06In Laguaira state, where buildings had been reduced to mountains of rubble,
02:10Tsunami arrived with the goal of helping amid the tragedy.
02:17In a matter of hours, Tsunami managed to locate a large number of trapped people.
02:24And each rescue was a story of a life saved thanks to his bravery and dedication,
02:31turning this noble dog into a symbol of hope for all Venezuelans.
02:38However, after nine years of tireless service, Tsunami's career will have to take a break.
02:44This is Tsunami's last mission. Even though he's still physically capable,
02:49he's brought us so much joy, and I think he deserves to live like a king now.
02:56The legacy of Tsunami will live on in the lives of every Venezuelan who witnessed his heroic deeds
03:01firsthand. He retired as a national hero, reminding us that even after the most devastating tragedy,
03:10there is no need to be in the lives of others.
