An insane stunt atop New York City’s iconic Empire State Building has ended in a dramatic arrest! Famous Russian daredevil couple Angela Nikolau (33) and Ivan Beerkus (32)—stars of the Netflix documentary Skywalkers: A Love Story—scaled the 1,454-foot (443m) skyscraper needle for a shocking marriage proposal.
After sneaking through a maintenance hatch on the 103rd floor, the couple unfurled a massive peace banner before Beerkus dropped down on one knee. Moments after the extreme proposal, the NYPD intercepted the couple on a caged ladder. They are now in custody facing major charges including burglary, reckless endangerment, and criminal trespass.
