00:06Welcome to Ms. Mojo, and today we're counting down our picks for the funniest Minion moments out there.
00:11We'll be getting into spoilers for the various Despicable Me and Minions movies, so consider this your warning.
00:22Number 30. Summoning a Monster.
00:24Minions and monsters.
00:25Minions and supernatural magic don't exactly mix.
00:29In this scene, they try to bring a Cthulhu-style monster into the world to make an epic creature feature,
00:34but it doesn't quite work.
00:46They do get a monster called Gumi, so the plan is technically successful, but he doesn't look as menacing as
00:52they thought.
00:53Even though he does have some serious powers, he's still basically just a baby-fied Cthulhu.
00:58There's also a hilarious moment where the Minions summon a cute-looking bunny, only for that to be far more
01:03scary than they thought.
01:08Minions bumbling around trying to unleash monsters on the Earth is inherently silly.
01:13Plus, it's funnier when they don't get the results they're expecting.
01:16Maybe save the sinister sorcery for the professionals.
01:18Number 29. Trying to be heroes.
01:21Despicable Me 4.
01:23Superheroes are awesome, but not everyone can be a superhero.
01:27The Mega Minions tried, and look at how that turned out.
01:39There's an entire montage of the would-be heroes epically failing to do good.
01:43It's got iconic moments like Dave accidentally injuring the victim of a robbery,
01:47and Tim trying to recreate the epic train scene from Spider-Man 2, but just totally crashing and burning.
02:03We also can't forget when a window washer is in danger,
02:06and Gus's rescue plan is to finish cleaning the dude's window and leave him high and dry.
02:10These super screw-ups create so much comedy through their various botched rescue missions, it's kind of incredible.
02:16The Mega Minions had good intentions, but man, they totally suck as costumed crime fighters.
02:20Number 28. Fashion Fail. Minions.
02:23In a scene where the Minions pull up from the sea, we can spot most of them sporting goggles and
02:28skirts.
02:29Norbert, on the other hand, doesn't have a grass skirt on,
02:31which leads him to awkwardly stumble for a bit to find a solution.
02:35The solution in question is a pair of starfish that he covers his chest with.
02:39Oh, that one is Norbert.
02:41He's an idiot.
02:43Does Norbert look ridiculous?
02:45Yes. Yes, he does.
02:46Hey, it's some pretty unconventional problem-solving, but at least it's something.
02:50Plus, getting to watch him try to recover from such a potentially disastrous situation is an entertaining experience.
02:56All the Minions are oddballs, but Norbert and his fashion emergencies are a special breed of goofy.
03:02Always make sure to wear appropriate clothing.
03:04To serve the most despicable master they could find.
03:07Number 27. Slap Bite. Despicable Me.
03:10While assisting Gru in his scheme to adopt his eventual daughters,
03:14the Minions quickly turn from partners in crime to enemies.
03:17Sure, one second they're having fun messing around and forging credentials,
03:20the next it's a full-on brawl.
03:28Violence is never the answer, but Minion on Minion violence is a recipe for laughs.
03:33What is this, fight club for kids?
03:35The silly slap fighting even messes up Gru's fake credentials and confuses Miss Hattie,
03:40the woman in charge of the adoption.
03:41What in the name of what?
03:45Any scheme is built off collaboration,
03:47and unfortunately, the Minions just did not want to collaborate at all here.
03:52Fortunately for us, though, we were treated to an absolute gut-buster of a sequence.
03:56Illumination should seriously consider a Minions vs. Minions movie.
04:00Number 26. Audition Disaster.
04:02Despicable Me 2.
04:04Making a movie is hard.
04:05Just ask any filmmaker.
04:07Or you can just ask the Minions, apparently.
04:18The end credits of Despicable Me 2
04:20sees them auditioning for their spin-off,
04:22but there's some obstacles in their way.
04:24For starters, the actual black screen for the credits keeps interrupting them.
04:27That's one seriously creative way to derail an audition.
04:31There are also problems that brew when two of the Minions start picking a fight with each other.
04:35Okay, seriously, Minions vs. Minions.
04:37Can we make that happen?
04:46The audition just devolves into anarchy as the fourth wall is broken and the Minions turn on each other.
04:51The Minions eventually got a whole slew of movies,
04:54but hopefully making them wasn't as chaotic as this audition was.
04:58Number 25. Chaotic Filming.
05:00Minions and Monsters.
05:01In this newest outing for the Minions,
05:04they once again find themselves dealing with movie-making.
05:06While on what clearly seems to be a big-budget Hollywood production,
05:10the Minions are being directed for a special fight scene against some scary-looking Vikings.
05:17Obviously, the Vikings are just a bunch of actors trying to film a fight sequence,
05:20but we're not sure if the Minions know that
05:22because they really kick the butts of their scene partners.
05:25It's kind of wild to see how so many large menacing buff dudes
05:28get tossed around by some small maniacs.
05:31Eye pokes, hammer bashes, dart throws, plungers to the head.
05:35There's just no limit to the carnage these pint-sized monsters are capable of.
05:39Minions are the ultimate method actors.
05:40That was...
05:43Perfect!
05:44Perfect!
05:45Number 24. Party on the Bus. Despicable Me 4.
05:49We all love seeing the Minions get down and have fun,
05:52and apparently there's nothing that will stop them from partying.
05:55Case in point, this moment when they're all riding a bus.
06:03From row to row, we see the Minions party like there's absolutely no tomorrow.
06:08Unfortunately, their special blend of chaos pushes their bus driver Carl to his limit,
06:13and eventually enough is enough.
06:16You are now on Carl's bus!
06:19The way his ultra-serious drill sergeant-style demeanor clashes
06:22with the Minions' fun-loving disregard for the rules
06:25makes for some excellent comedy.
06:26Even though we love the Minions,
06:28we kind of have to side with Carl on this one.
06:30Have fun, but have fun responsibly.
06:32Who are we kidding?
06:34The Minions are gonna do what they want, when they want to.
06:41Number 23. Fainting Minion.
06:43Minions, The Rise of Gru.
06:45The second Minions movie kept the spotlight on the Minions,
06:48while also showing us how their paths eventually crossed
06:50with our favorite villain-turned-hero, Gru.
06:53But there are points in this movie where the relationship gets rocky,
06:56and things get so tense that Gru later fires the Minions.
06:59My mom was right.
07:01You do not belong here.
07:03You are fired!
07:07It's a shocking scene that, for all intents and purposes,
07:10is pretty serious.
07:12After all, being rejected and shunned is nothing to laugh about.
07:15But then again, we are dealing with Minions,
07:18so even sad moments have little glimpses of humor.
07:21If you need convincing,
07:22just look and you'll see a Minion fainting dramatically in the background
07:25after receiving the bad news.
07:31Young Gru is right that the Minions don't take things very seriously,
07:35but that's part of their charm.
07:36Number 22. Interrogating Otto.
07:39Minions, The Rise of Gru.
07:40In order to get important information relating to the Zodiac Stone out of Otto,
07:44the Minions are forced to rely on some extreme methods to get the job done.
07:55We've seen police-style interrogations done countless times in movies and TV,
07:59but we've never seen it the Minion way.
08:01When it comes to interrogating,
08:03let's just say that Kevin, Stuart, and Bob are,
08:05well, they're not great, but they're hilarious to watch.
08:12Seriously, the way that they so effortlessly lose control of the situation
08:16is honestly must-see cinema.
08:18When Kevin stops Stuart from flailing Otto around
08:20and then proceeds to do the exact same thing,
08:22it is a true delight.
08:24There's Good Cop, Bad Cop,
08:26and now there's Minion Cop.
08:28Number 21. The Banana Song.
08:30Despicable Me Too.
08:32Even if you know utterly nothing about Minions,
08:34you probably know they have a thing for bananas.
08:37Ba-ba-ba-ba-ba-na-na.
08:39Not only is it an object of their fixation
08:42and a word they love saying,
08:43it's also a song they like to sing.
08:45That's right, they're not just oddball henchmen,
08:48they're also singers.
08:53In a teaser that was released to promote Despicable Me Too,
08:56they perform Barbara Ann.
08:58It's a classic 1960s single,
09:00but their version mostly just uses
09:02the word banana.
09:08This is marketing at its finest.
09:11Plus, it's even more perfect
09:12because one minion gets so annoyed with the other that he punches him in the face.
09:16There might come a time when this running gag gets a little stale,
09:19but that day hasn't come yet.
09:22Number 20. Ice Cream Party. Despicable Me 2.
09:25We all scream for ice cream, but if you're a minion,
09:28the sweet treat is cause for a giant celebration.
09:31We find the minions partying it up with singing,
09:34dancing, and an endless supply of their favorite dessert.
09:45Actually, except for the choice of refreshments,
09:48it's a scene that wouldn't be out of place at your average frat party.
09:51Minions are never off-duty, though.
09:53The fun is interrupted when Gru comes to assign new tasks to several of his yellow henchmen.
09:58Kevin, Jerry, watch the girls for me, okay?
10:01Dave, Stuart, come this way with me, come on!
10:05But a minion knows that just because you leave the party
10:08doesn't mean you can't take the party with you.
10:10Number 19. Jelly Factory Shenanigans. Despicable Me 2.
10:15In the second movie, we find the minions hard at work at Gru's new jelly-making operation.
10:20The work may have changed, but they still know how to have fun on the job.
10:37Though, obviously, that comes with its own hazards.
10:40But they're always excited to be helping Gru, and innovation is still the name of the game.
10:45I developed a new formula which allowed me to get every known kind of berry into one flavor of jelly.
10:52Too bad this effort highlights the error in the trial-and-error process.
10:56The minions want to be supportive, but condiments are just too important to lie about.
11:04Number 18. The stars are brighter. Despicable Me 2.
11:09How many minions does it take to change a lightbulb?
11:12They won't stop until they figure it out.
11:14That's the great thing about minions, really.
11:16There are always as many as you need to get a job done.
11:24And as we see, they really excel when it comes to teamwork.
11:29Sure, things might not always work out exactly as they'd hoped, but it's never for lack of effort.
11:38You have to be careful what kinds of mistakes you make with the minions, though.
11:42Their talent for creative problem-solving might take an unexpected turn.
11:48Number 17. The ice cream truck. Despicable Me 2.
11:52We already know how the minions feel about ice cream.
12:03Based on the reaction of the neighborhood kids,
12:05it looks like it's not uncommon for the local truck to be mobbed by the minions before anyone else has
12:10a chance.
12:21All things considered, it was pretty genius to use the ice cream truck as a trap.
12:25Even when facing certain peril,
12:28these guys just cannot turn down the offer of a little frozen goodness.
12:39Maybe this is part of the reason why ice cream trucks have such an iffy reputation.
12:44Number 16. Jail Song.
12:46Despicable Me 3.
12:48What would a road or air trip be without a sing-along?
12:52We've seen that the minions are a music-loving bunch to begin with.
12:55As they make their escape from prison,
12:57it's only natural that they would all join in on a time-killing staple.
13:09Maybe traveling in a big heap is a little bit of a mood killer, though.
13:13The crew up top has a much more cheerful rendition going on.
13:22We get it. Economy vs. First Class? Totally different travel experience.
13:28Number 15. Torture with Blurb. Minions.
13:31Go ahead, go ahead.
13:38Being in a dungeon is no laughing matter.
13:41Well, unless you're a minion.
13:43In this scene from the 2015 spinoff,
13:45our three heroes are locked away in an ominous, intimidating, and scary-looking dungeon.
13:49So get comfortable, minions.
13:52Get real, real comfortable.
13:54Because this is where you're going to spend the rest of your worthless little lives.
14:02A hooded executioner named Blurb, who is definitely not Herb,
14:07then proceeds to try and torture our poor little yellow friends.
14:10Luckily, the minions find the torture devices to be ineffective and even quite fun.
14:15I got off! I got off!
14:19This scene perfectly illustrates why we love the minions.
14:23They don't ever let the worst situations get them down.
14:26Well, I hope you learned your lesson for today.
14:28Number 14. Minions Quit Gru. Despicable Me 3.
14:33Early on in the third movie,
14:35Gru suffers a few setbacks in his work with the Anti-Villain League.
14:38That doesn't mean he's going to fall right back into his evil ways, though.
14:41Unfortunately, not everyone thinks that's good news.
14:45Don't take a tone with me. We're not going back to villainy.
14:48Uh, not the only?
14:49The minions don't seem to find Gru quite as impressive when he's just a normal suburban dad.
14:54In a rare moment of disagreement, they make their displeasure known to their boss.
14:59Don't say anything you're going to regret.
15:02Oh, no, let's go!
15:03We'll quit!
15:04Ciao, Vero!
15:06What? You quit?
15:08Of course, the minions still make this funny, even if the idea of Gru without his helpers is unbelievable.
15:14It turns out to be a good day to be late to work, though.
15:17Ho, ho! Great news, guys!
15:19You have been promoted!
15:21You're in charge now!
15:22Huh?
15:23Not bad!
15:27Number 13. Meeting the Nelsons, Minions
15:30It can be hard keeping a family together, let alone keeping it happy.
15:39When the minions come across this seemingly normal station wagon driving family called the Nelsons,
15:44everything seems great, at first.
15:48Oh, Walter, look! These adorable little freaks are headed to Orlando, too!
15:52Yeah, I see that!
15:54With a free ride and plenty of apple slices, what could go wrong?
15:58However, we quickly see that this is no ordinary family.
16:02This one keeps itself together by leading a life of crime and robbery.
16:06You guys wait here, we'll be right back.
16:08Okay, Nelsons, let's do this!
16:13After they rob a rural bank, the Nelsons are all too happy to have the minions aid with their escape.
16:18The minions just can't seem to help themselves when it comes to explosives.
16:35Hey, dating is tough. We have all been there, and making that first move can be scary.
16:49Gru's impulse is completely understandable.
16:52Who hasn't wanted to torch their phone at one point or another?
16:55And after all, what are minions for if not to help put out a few fires?
17:00Especially the literal ones.
17:02Of course, Gru's minions are particularly enthusiastic.
17:06Their commitment even extends to appropriate sound effects.
17:09Beedle, beedle, beedle, beedle, beedle, beedle.
17:14How helpful they actually are is debatable.
17:17They seem to have caused more damage than they prevented, but you can't deny their dedication.
17:22Or how much they seem to enjoy their job.
17:25Beedle, beedle.
17:28Number 11. Prison Scene, Despicable Me 3.
17:32Really, considering all the crazy escapades the minions have been part of during their long lifetimes, prison is no big
17:38deal.
17:39Hey, get that back!
17:41No, you guys!
17:43No, we're on the street!
17:45It's not surprising that they quickly climb to the top of the food chain on the inside.
17:49It's just a fact that nothing says tough like coordinated finger snapping.
17:53With the other inmates thoroughly intimidated, the minions' crew seems to enjoy calling the shots.
17:59We've been waiting a long time.
18:01No, no, no!
18:03No, no, no!
18:04But no matter how well they handle their new environment, they are really just missing their boss.
18:10So much so that just the mention of Gru gets them excited enough to riot.
18:15Now that's love.
18:25Number 10. King Bob's Entrance, Minions
18:28Being different can be scary.
18:35After trekking through Australia and dancing through India, the minions make it to England.
18:40And Bob's a little intimidated.
18:42To make him feel at home, a small wardrobe change is made.
18:45Hello, King Bob.
18:47Welcome to Buckingham Palace.
18:50The yellow and blue decked crowd loves the entrance King Bob makes.
18:54But they don't quite understand the words he's saying.
19:11After not getting the response he expected from his probably great speech, Bob proclaims...
19:21The crowd loves it.
19:22It's only logical to follow up with a mic drop.
19:24Number 9. Minions photocopying their butts.
19:28Despicable me.
19:32Some things are universally true.
19:34The sun will rise, unicorns are cute, and butts are funny.
19:38This scene illustrates the very core and essence, the very soul of a minion.
19:43What does a minion strive for in life?
19:46What does a minion love?
19:48Butts.
19:48These three are so distracted by their facsimile antics that they don't even notice what's going on behind them until
19:54it almost kills them.
19:58And yet, they still continue looking and laughing at pictures of butts because that's what minions do.
20:07Number 8. Prison Break. Despicable Me 3.
20:10Escaping prison is no sweat when you've got creativity, guts, and a large team of friends to bring it all
20:16together.
20:24We see the minions apply their unique brand of genius to their situation as they prepare to spring themselves from
20:29the big house.
20:30As always, it is an endearing mixture of efficiency and sheer dumb luck.
20:35You just have to love how nothing seems to slow them down for long.
20:39Using stolen materials from the prison laundry and bathrooms, they have an escape craft ready to take off in no
20:45time.
20:54Though not before observing proper safety procedures, of course.
21:04They did seem to forget a detail or two, but it's not the minions without a little chaos.
21:11Number 7. Minions Turn Purple. Despicable Me 2.
21:18Purple isn't only the color of royalty.
21:21It's also the color of pure dog-chasing, unicorn-eating evil.
21:26In order to turn a minion evil, one must put it through a complex and complicated procedure.
21:31Or just poke it with some purple juice.
21:38In this scene, we see how minions are plucked from their island playground and turned against their yellow brothers.
21:44You might be terrified to see one of your brothers turn to the dark side right in front of you,
21:48but a minion apparently finds it quite funny.
21:51That is, until he gets poked with the same thing.
21:57Number 6. Island Joy. Despicable Me 2.
22:06Clothing is apparently optional on this island paradise.
22:09If you ever wondered what the minions' dream vacation would be, this is probably it.
22:14Bananas, beach, and bare butts.
22:20In this funny scene, we get to see minions relax by playing volleyball,
22:24enjoying a cool beverage, dancing to music, and soaking up the sun.
22:28It almost all seems too good to be true.
22:31But don't worry about that.
22:32Have a banana and enjoy the water.
22:34The temperature is perfect.
22:36It's nice to see the minions when they're not wreaking havoc.
22:46In what is honestly one of their most relatable moments,
22:49the minions follow their appetites behind the gates of a Hollywood studio complex.
23:02While fleeing from the security guards,
23:05they unexpectedly find themselves on stage at the taping of an American Idol-style singing competition.
23:10Luckily, the minions, though initially nervous,
23:13are ready to go with their own rendition of the famous patter song,
23:16Modern Major General.
23:27It's not long before they're caught up in the spirit of performing,
23:31adding costumes and props to their number as they go.
23:39Of course, it's a smash success.
23:42The audience may not speak Minionese,
23:45but they know talent when they see it.
23:47Number 4. Minions fail at keeping a boss.
23:50Minions.
23:51But they all share the same goal.
23:54To serve the most despicable master they could find.
23:58Boss!
24:00Aside from bananas and butts,
24:02all a minion really needs is a boss.
24:05In this hilarious scene,
24:06we discover a little bit about the minion's past,
24:09specifically their search for an evil master.
24:12Unfortunately for them, and their bosses,
24:14the minions are bad luck charms.
24:16Despite their attempts to better the lives of a T-Rex,
24:19a caveman,
24:20a vampire,
24:21or even Napoleon,
24:22their antics do way more harm than good.
24:25Um,
24:26we'd kind of love to see a Minions and T-Rex movie ourselves.
24:29How about you?
24:30All in all,
24:31it's hilarious to see their life and adventures before Gru.
24:41Number 3.
24:42Dave is in love with Lucy.
24:44Despicable Me 2.
24:45Do what they tell me anyway.
24:48Voila!
24:48Frolicking on the beach,
24:50enjoying a picnic,
24:51and shooting rockets into the night sky
24:53are just a few of the things Dave thinks of when he imagines a perfect date.
24:57When minion Dave first meets secret agent Lucy,
24:59she kung-fus his cupcake and nearly karate chops his face,
25:03but that doesn't deter him from seeing something special in her.
25:06Or maybe that's what he likes.
25:08Either way,
25:08it's love at first sight for this miniature yellow assistant.
25:12Unfortunately for Dave,
25:13a life with Lucy is not meant to be,
25:16as she falls for someone else.
25:19You can leave now.
25:24Number 2.
25:25I swear.
25:26Despicable Me 2.
25:28Ah,
25:29La Bota.
25:30By the moons and the stars in the sky,
25:33we swear the minions aren't only about yellow fruit and rear ends.
25:38They also have a soft and romantic side to them.
25:41La Marie,
25:43Poti,
25:44La Nota.
25:46In this scene,
25:47the minions serenade the guests at Gru and Lucy's wedding.
25:50And us,
25:51with a sweet,
25:52if unintelligible rendition of a classic all-for-one song,
25:55complete with white suits and doves.
25:58La Pele
26:01Underwear
26:03What makes this scene great is how genuinely sweet it is,
26:07and how it's clear that they are happy for Gru.
26:10Also,
26:11we're pretty sure they're saying underwear.
