00:18welcome to our review of masters of the universe he-man which i bulked up
00:29i'm working really hard on these pics what yeah quick don't don't don't accuse me of uh of
00:37anything joe chicken and broccoli i have the power and the power makes my muscles big guys
00:44uh it's a big week for movies we got uh master the u masters of the universe out and also
00:50scary
00:50movie which one should you go see well we're gonna watch both we just got back from um masters of
00:56the universe and uh i guess i'll jump right in and say uh wow it's kind of it was it
01:06was charming
01:06it was very charming it wears its heart on its sleeve uh i liked it i liked it a lot
01:14uh the
01:14action was top tier when there was action um there was uh violence more so than i thought there would
01:22be it's not afraid to brawl when it wants to when it wants to stick a knife in somebody's
01:28you know neck they'll do it when they want to rip a job they'll do it so uh which leads
01:34me to leave
01:34is this a kid's film or what what's going on here but if you're hoping that this is a serious
01:42uh you
01:43know take on it this is not that okay this is a comedy more so than than anything else i
01:50mean it
01:51wants to make endless jokes even when maybe it doesn't need to it's one of those kinds of films
01:58i wish they'd they'd ease up on the non-stop jokes and the ironic humor that you know the film
02:05would
02:05do constantly because i was actually really getting into the lore and the characters you know he man
02:10obviously and when we were kids he man's on tv and it's actually before our time a little bit and
02:16i
02:16you know at first i thought he man was i hated on he man i was like man i got
02:20ninja turtles i got yeah
02:21i don't like the he man but over time i actually grew to appreciate the he man you know obviously
02:27started uh primarily with the toys you know transformers with the toys he man with the
02:32toys the toys were outrageous you had these like little figures that they're multicolored and
02:37weird guys beast guy and ram dude and all these crazy things and what this film gets right
02:44is the fucking visuals is on point like this 10 out of 10 in visuals and costumes i mean
02:53for ridiculous looking toys uh but they didn't shy away from them they didn't hide them they weren't
03:01you know ashamed of to use them just as they are and um and in in live action and i
03:07think because of
03:08that it was campy fun when those those little action figure dudes and and villains and and side
03:16characters were on screen brawling it out that was campy fun it's a highlight whenever they fought
03:21and um it even leads to some funny inappropriate humor fisting jokes uh giving head jokes uh so this
03:31film is crazy man it's it's kind of all over the place and the most i can say is i
03:37felt that heart
03:38coming through on screen the the charm the heart you could tell that people cared about the um
03:44the license and and uh the material behind it but without taking it too serious and maybe a little
03:52too many jokes at times but uh overall i really liked it i have more to say uh but i
03:57want to have
03:58the boys jump in what did you so ultimately i liked it what did you guys think uh for me
04:03i would
04:04wait to go see this movie um i i appreciate it i kind of wanted it to be campy uh
04:11and have uh more
04:12jokes i kind of felt like they dropped the ball whenever they didn't do it in the 80s they should
04:18have been like send them in the 80s like instead they sent them in our our present time i think
04:24it
04:24would have been uh more charming for it again i never really grew up with he-man i don't watch
04:28the
04:28cartoon i never watched anything besides uh the dolf lundgren one uh but uh i think there were some
04:36jokes that land but there were a lot of jokes they should have been better the execution was not good
04:42but i wanted it to be cheesier and campier that's what i want what for a he-man one yeah
04:48cheesier and
04:49campier than this this the one thing i can say about this this is the cheesiest and the campiest
04:54and the most non-serious take on on he-man just having fun with it and almost to the film's
05:01detriment you wanted to be even like can you better tell me like better jokes and stuff like that like
05:06there were some there make you laugh more yes uh i think nicholas did a great job he did a
05:11great job
05:11as a he-man adam he fit the role and like kind of like very shy timid guy but yeah
05:18he was he was
05:19great yeah casting was great visuals look pretty good but really you don't really see much of his
05:29sidekicks you just see what's her name um tila and duncan that's it we don't really spend a lot
05:35of time with fist man and anyone i guess i'm coming from the 80s version of uh masters of the
05:41universe
05:41the dolf lundgren film have you seen that one all the way through you have it's been a long time
05:45none of
05:46the interesting side characters are in that there's like man o' war and then that little
05:51midget dude with the the the pan face a weird looking guy with the with the unit and this one
05:58there's a lot i think for you know that i mean obviously supporting characters they're not uh the
06:05main character yeah the main ones are just tila and duncan but we don't really spend a lot of time
06:10with the rest of them uh jared leto's take he had some funny lines but i wish the voice was
06:17there
06:17yeah he didn't have to laugh like he's got his own laugh he had some good lines but i think
06:23it would
06:24have been more fitting if he had the original voice or something similar to it the original that mean
06:29yeah it would have been better might have been a little too crazy a little too campy but uh i
06:34yeah
06:34yeah but uh for me honestly i would just wait for uh stream uh i i liked it i had
06:40really low
06:41expectations though um it's kind of like laughing ah that laugh yo you're gonna talk like this
06:51me too me too but it kind of over time won me over on that yeah jared leto was was
06:56actually good
06:57and i i mean he's a weirdo and you know you can not like him for what he how he
07:01is in real life
07:02yeah and i don't like him for how he is in real life but he's unrecognizable in this on i
07:07couldn't
07:07even tell he's like almost jeremy irons in dungeons and dragons just hamming it up yes good time
07:15and the music is brian may and so it is so much like flash gordon yes and so it's like
07:22i love flash
07:23gordon i even love that original uh jeremy irons dungeons drag i know it's terrible but like if you
07:28think those types of movies where you're just gonna like have a good time turn your brain off
07:34but the action is good and yeah i wish they had a better script either the jokes needed to land
07:40or
07:41you need to take it more seriously but there's someone dropped the ball somewhere in the middle
07:46of it so it's not as good as i was hoping it's not like thor ragnarok where it had all
07:51this action
07:51and it's really funny it's solid all the way through but it's also not thor love and thunder where
07:56it's a garbage fire and i never want to watch it again so it's like there's some good stuff here
08:01um i i watched he-man but i'm not nostalgic for he-man like i don't give a shit about
08:05he-man as a
08:06character and so i wasn't wasn't like oh i have to go see this but it won me over it's
08:10a good it's i
08:11had a good time with it it it i was shocked by how brutal some of the action me too
08:17because they're
08:17making jokes about you know the sill like so silly and then he-man's savaging dudes and it's like
08:24he beat up an old lady he beat yeah boom like he's impaling guys with his sword and i'm like
08:30man
08:30okay so what it is is it's literally motherfuckers playing with action figures on the screen there's
08:36just fucking color everywhere there's fucking machines and fucking vehicles and and falling
08:42through forests in the sky and then he jumps from vehicle to vehicle it is literally kids playing with
08:48toys and i'm like what more do you want and the fact that it's i was worried that audience would
08:52be
08:53like this is too campy this is too funny they're not taking it serious and i'm like but it's he
08:58-man
08:58like how serious do you want them to take it the story is so it it's very tropey it's like
09:06they got
09:06the villain who's a god dang villain he doesn't have this tragic backstory he's a fucking villain you
09:11know and and he-man's the power guy and he's gonna get the power and he's gonna beat everybody up
09:17and he fucking does that and yes they make fun of themselves and i'm worried that some fans are
09:22thinking oh it's taking it's making too much fun of itself and i said no i think it it cherishes
09:28it
09:29and it embraces it it knows it's silly when we say man i wish this movie would would you know
09:34know what
09:35it is and and not take itself so serious this is actually what i was thinking and as makes a
09:39great
09:40point with the music dude this music is non-stop throughout the entire film the guy had a vision
09:45for the music and i think it was like uh it is brian may from queen see okay he did
09:52all of the
09:52guitar for all of it it sounds exactly i thought it was his style it's literally him and they have
09:56a queen song in there like it is like if you like flash gordon's music you're gonna be like i
10:01guess i
10:02did because like i was the whole time it was blaring and then the action scenes and this throwback it
10:07felt very 80 even though joe's right this doesn't set in the 80s they do do the modern day stuff
10:13and i'm
10:13wondering how that's gonna go over the juxtaposition of work adam works in hr human resources i mean
10:22the word human resources comes out of skeletor's mouth at one point that's how serious this film
10:28is and i like that scene those scenes are great me too i like those scenes a lot those are
10:34good that's
10:34what i like the funny in the camping park and and and skeletor's is you boob he said he calls
10:41he
10:41man a boob and uh he and and skeletor himself does really silly things and he chews the scenery when
10:50honestly when he's on screen i can't take my eyes off uh you know skeletor so while i was mad
10:56at the
10:56fact that it's not the original boys it's not the meme and running away laughing and stuff that's what i
11:02wanted he won me over and um i just couldn't take my eyes off him and that skeletor you can't
11:08you can't
11:09stop you know he just he dominates the scene and um and honestly i'm gonna say something they even
11:16kind of touch on the kind of you know homoerotic stuff between he-man and skeletor i didn't think
11:23that they would do this because it's movies for kids right no there's a lot of cursiveness you're
11:29right there's cursive no it's not for kids it's for old farts i mean fucking he-man came out however
11:36long
11:36ago you know what i mean yes kids can enjoy it i think they will and those references will go
11:42over
11:42their heads i think uh so i think it's okay and so i'm laughing about it i'm having a good
11:49time it was
11:50a good popcorn flick where you'll have fun at the movies and it's it's happy it wears its heart on
11:56its
11:56sleeve and it doesn't kind of care about that and uh it's got a good message as well and so
12:03i liked it and
12:04i thought other the performances were great except for um she didn't put in a bad performance but i
12:11just don't really see her as like evil lynn um what is it allison brie she was not very good
12:15yeah she
12:16wasn't very good in this i mean she has the look so when she's not talking and she doesn't have
12:21the
12:21attitude of allison brie then it kind of works but when she opens her mouth and the lines they give
12:26it's like alex said the dialogue is not very good in it there's moments where they say stupid lines and
12:33like joe is like man i wish that would have hit harder or i wish i would have laughed a
12:37little bit
12:38more um but every once in a while they'll get it you know and uh and and so because that
12:44charm uh
12:45shines through i think it eventually wins me back over i think in the in the middle like the second
12:51act
12:51i was like oh i'm kind of unsure of this but when it embraces itself at the end and it
12:57goes hard in
12:58these action scenes at the end and then you get the skeletor he-man fight i was like oh man
13:04we
13:04didn't really get a skeletor he-man fight with dolph lundgren's version and frank langelic he's so
13:09good he's so good so good so good that man played skeletor because his son asked him to because he
13:14was
13:15a fan of he-man back then well we have a new skeletor and you get the payoff and it
13:19goes a step further from
13:21the payoff i'm like whoa okay hold on um you know what are we gonna do is there is there
13:26end scenes in this
13:27and there is there's like three different end scenes but not quite what hoping to address what
13:32i wanted them to address but they address something completely else where it teases that they want to
13:37go crazy with their franchise now this movie looked the expensive like there are cgi shots non-stop
13:46constant um especially when they're in the ternia and i'm just happy that a studio amazon was like yeah
13:55just go just spend spend and so it was worth making all those employees pee in bottles just for
14:01a good job amazon yeah and so whatever and yeah so i was expensive the cgi was great and uh
14:09i thought
14:10that it worked and was interesting um i do wish you know something that when they slow it down that's
14:18when
14:18i think it's really working between between the characters and i needed a little bit more about
14:24of that but i'm happy they managed to cram in so much because there is a lot of fan service
14:31there's a
14:32lot of references to you know the original and even the meta and even the memes and then all the
14:38action
14:39figures every action figure has their own scene i mean for christ's sake there's but i don't i don't
14:45know how many i'd have to count them all so we have fucking um that obviously you're gonna get he
14:51man and you're gonna get teela and you're gonna get like skeletor right and evil lynn but then they
14:56have people like uh and and man at arms i was expecting that and by the way i just elbow
15:02does a
15:02great job as man at arms and i like the little character arc that they gave him it's very simple
15:09it's very tropey but in this universe it was charming and it works we see a little adam a little
15:17he's at the run of the litter he's a little guy and everybody's always kind of making fun of him
15:22or stuffing him in lockers apparently um and i think that idris elba is the perfect like
15:31surrogate father not surrogate father but uh grizzled veteran to learn from that that you know has
15:39some good ideals and a heroic warrior that adam looks up to and learns from so i thought that was
15:46well done but okay we got fucking fisto ram man trap jaw zamata uh fucking uh mecha neck
15:57this mecha neck guy he was so ridiculous but it worked i cannot believe a stupid action figure with
16:05slinky neck actually worked in live action and i was just laughing and then having a good time with
16:11it triclops carg spike or goat man pig boy moss man is in it hopefully you're not too too big
16:22of a fan of
16:23moss man because that there's just a lot of side characters and and uh when the battles happen and
16:29they start fighting each other they all use their powers and that was what was missing from the
16:34original masters of the universe and um of course that one had huge budget constraints i mean that's
16:41canon that's what did superman 4 and uh fucking fell apart and ruined the superman franchise but uh
16:50they did not care i want to look at the budget here because this was insane 170 to 200 million
16:56apparently let's say it was 200 million because that that shit was crazy and i'm i'm surprised that
17:01for a dormant franchise like this that they got so much money to just do what they wanted and they
17:07weren't putting like it didn't it doesn't feel like there's any constraints on the budget you know
17:12uh so i mean you get them even if you don't break even in the movie theaters just gonna throw
17:16it up on
17:17prime and oh yeah i mean they spent hundreds of millions of dollars on prime shows anyway that's right
17:21and so it's like they're getting they are in a unique situation where they kind of like apple does the
17:25same thing they put them out and they're disappointing the box office but they get
17:29people to sign up for their things so it's like the bread big red one or something with uh the
17:33rock the christmas movie oh yeah red notice and red notice that's another one that's netflix this
17:40was netflix or no amazon is that one too yeah so i guess it's a lost leader well they'll put
17:46this up
17:47later on on amazon and maybe that's if it's not doing well the box office i don't know how it's
17:51doing i'll
17:52look it up later but um if it's not doing well there maybe it could get second life on on
17:57streaming
17:57because it does seem like they want to set up more films or a universe film or a spinoff or
18:03something
18:04and honestly because like joe said that the he-man guy he did a great job he's just like a
18:10likable
18:11dude and his attitude in the film is just like adam should be just a good wearing his pink you
18:17know the
18:17man loves pink that's that's he-man he's constantly wearing i thought he was gonna do the laugh later
18:22on me oh i wanted the laugh they didn't play the song though they played the song yeah so like
18:28again
18:28so many references um i guess i was just in the right mood and had a good time and and
18:35i i liked it
18:36so if somebody asked me you know hey is he man worth seeing in in the theaters i would tell
18:41them yes
18:41but be ready it is a comedy first action second and they don't take it too serious but you're gonna
18:48have fun it is what i would say about it uh let's go on to final verdicts yeah even when
18:54i saw the
18:54trailer i thought it was gonna be campy and i didn't think it was gonna take itself seriously at all
18:59uh for me it's above average i'm gonna go with a six i enjoyed like the the action action was
19:06great
19:06visuals great music great nicholas did a fantastic job uh just like again i wish the dialogue would
19:15have been uh hit a little bit harder um there's no really tension here you're just here just have
19:20a good time yeah so you're just watching people beat up each other you don't ever feel like people
19:25gonna die yeah the sad moments in this movie the sad moments weren't really there it's kind of like
19:31just kind of like pushing the story along but um for me other than that like everything else like
19:38i kind of wish it was like they wrote better jokes or something and like kind of
19:46if you're gonna go campy and funny what percentage of the jokes do you think work and don't work in
19:51it
19:52i think a lot of skeletor's jokes worked yeah yeah yeah he was fucking like he was funny uh some
19:58of uh
19:58uh duncan idris but i don't know it just the rest kind of the rest kind of fell flat it
20:05was going
20:05like jokes were going a mile a minute like uh love and thunder but it didn't work that didn't work
20:11but
20:11like uh the other one ragnarok that one was very funny i was like that shit it have like those
20:17kind
20:17of writers or something yeah i like the action uh i like the action a lot um i like the
20:23performances i
20:24mean i don't like jared leto and i think he did a wonderful job he is unrecognizable
20:28i literally i thought you said unlikable it's like you're right he is totally unlikable he's
20:32a fucking weirdo and he did a really good job yeah and so uh so he did great uh i
20:39mean i think
20:40everyone but alice and brie and i don't think it's her fault it's just like the the writing isn't super
20:44strong and it didn't need to be like incredible but it's like oscar fishing here no but it's like
20:52some of it is like come on man like a second passover we clean up some of these lines the
20:56second
20:56passover you realize maybe you don't need this joke here or it's really not that funny or stop
21:02cutting the knees out of a scene where it's like there's not a james gunn movie you can sit on
21:07some
21:07of these things yeah yeah because so it's there was some good stuff here i was in the mood for
21:14this
21:14apparently i love flash gordon i have fond memories of how bad dunces dragons is and so like those kind
21:21of things and so i was in the mood for that kind of stuff and so would i recommend it
21:26to you it's
21:26like do you do you like flash gordon and how goofy and weird it is do you like some of
21:31these like crazy
21:32and it's like do you want to see a movie that's like ragnarok but nowhere near as good then yeah
21:37then go then go see this one um i think it's probably like an eight yeah for something what it
21:43like for what it is um wow i just wish nice alex i just wish it was stronger i i
21:50actually i just had
21:52low ass expectations i think and it met them and exceeded them i am also at an eight out of
21:58ten you
21:58know um for a while there i was at a seven you know as some of these jokes weren't hitting
22:03but i think
22:03that final act the final battle those action scenes where they did not you know pump the brakes they they
22:10they hit the gas and i appreciate that and i give you an extra one and and then they they
22:16did stuff
22:16for fans and and there's three teases and teases at characters i don't pretend to know every goddamn
22:23you know he main character but okay well i'll talk about in spoilers um so yeah i'm also an eight
22:30out of
22:30ten and i think it's a great time at the theater um adults and kids included so as long as
22:36some of the
22:36jokes go over their head it's pg-13 right yeah yeah okay and um yeah so check it out uh
22:44you can't
22:44go wrong with he-man if you decide to see this one we'll see a scary movie next and see
22:48which one's
22:49better or whatever if you can only choose one uh but if you want to talk a little bit of
22:54spoilers and
22:55see what some of these inappropriate jokes were and uh what exactly i'm talking about with these extra
23:00credits scenes uh then join us in the spoiler section because i have the power i can't see my sword

23:33dude i don't know what his name is the little wizard hat dude the floaty guy he does the episode
23:39wrap up
23:40at the end of the lessons that we learned yeah orco i think is what it is it appears to
23:44tell the
23:45audience a lesson of the movie if you have a skeleton face if you're a bad guy i do like
23:50how you know at
23:51the end i'm i roll my eyes a little bit because at the end he-man tries to do the
23:55i'm gonna talk to
23:56skeletor you know but to me because i don't care so much about you know he-man and the whole
24:02thing i
24:02thought it was interesting to see and i'm glad that they didn't do the whole super sappy thing okay i
24:08listen to you and we we we do our differences and i'll get you next time he-man i'd have
24:14been like
24:14negative three points no fucking skeletor goes shut up bitch he's like i'm a villain i like being a
24:23villain and then they have a fight and he powers up and they beat each other's asses and then uh
24:28and
24:29then but the he-man his power level is so high compared to skeletor's at least when he has
24:36confidence and we just goes for it unlimited that's so much so that skeletor fucking dies
24:43he fucking kills a skeletor it rips his fucking body and skin and muscles apart and he turns into a
24:53skeleton and yeah it's that and then his head rolls and it's just the skeleton head and so i'm like
24:59no
25:00because i like that he come back somehow i don't know and then evil lynn is just you know she's
25:06just
25:06like uh he's running off pieces out if this makes money he'll be back if it doesn't make money we'll
25:12never see him again fuck and that's the thing that i forgot to mention i think this film works as
25:17a
25:17one-off you don't need to do anything else they went all out they killed skeletor they
25:23fucking gave you the final battle that's a big for the parent the lineage everything more to tell
25:31everything so if they never get to do another one i feel like they left everything out there what i'm
25:35saying this other franchise oh no we gotta save this for that it'd be that no they don't save nothing
25:39they just go for it and um i'm happy and even at one point cringer's like i want armor next
25:45next time
25:46in the next film but he does get armor at the at the end so you don't even have to
25:50wait for that
25:52um okay so amazon prime saves the entire movie because oh yeah uh he man is about to like once
26:00he fought he lost he loses the sword so beginning of the movie he's a kid skeletor takes over and
26:05they
26:05have to ship him in the sort of way otherwise skeletor is going to get it so he man gets
26:09sent to
26:09where his mother's planet earth and so when he's flying through the tunnel the sword him gets separated
26:14and so he's like he's never had the sword once he finally finds it as an adult and we kind
26:18of spend
26:19too much too long in earth where he's like this hr guy and it's like i don't like the hr
26:24lady his
26:24boss was yeah it's just this it's a funny for a joke but they stretched it out this movie's like
26:30over two hours long yeah it's two hours 12 minutes it needs to be like 20 minutes shorter i think
26:35we
26:35could have cut a lot of that earth stuff out yeah but as soon as he touches it it sends
26:39the beacon out
26:39and then both skeletor sends people and the good people send people and so this beast shows up and
26:45it's only due to an amazon driver i'm bringing him prime driver runs him who is probably disobeying
26:52traffic laws and speeding and peeing in a bottle because he will be fired if he doesn't prime okay
26:58we got to get it early um yeah and amazon saves the day just as they did in um war
27:05of the world
27:06this is definitely the better between between amazon's movies um okay and so yeah so alex
27:14is kind of explaining the beginning there uh the sorceress she's powerful as fuck mysterious i don't
27:19know you know what kind of power she has but she's the first one to notice the skeletor's forces are
27:25arriving and i love the cgi lasers and shit and then the fucking and man at arms has this extended
27:31scene where he's training little adam and adam everybody beats up on adam and he's
27:35like he's like don't do your best you know you have to do it you know protect your family and
27:41do this
27:42and then he goes to adam adam just do do your best you know what i mean and and i
27:45like that
27:46shit and and later on that that comes up again in in the final thing but uh man-at-arms
27:52don't worry
27:52i trained the guy as well and they have these big buff dudes and they all have their armor and
27:56everything
27:57so you get a little braveheart scene kind of thing and i was like man this is great this is
28:01people
28:01kids smashing their toys together exactly he gets flung loses the sword and then you know
28:08he grows up and he's on dates they try to pretend that this dude who's gigantic exactly and a handsome
28:16fucking guy and so he's like and somebody went oversize wearing a 9xl shirt he's like i'm weak
28:22it's like dude you're huge shut the fuck up right yeah and even at the when he finally gets the
28:28sword
28:28and powers up they even like make his muscles bigger and he gets veins he's they shrink and
28:32they use a body double to have him be small and it's like he went from like this to this
28:36to this
28:37to this it's like it's silly but uh the girls think he's crazy because he's constantly telling
28:42the story how he's from a different planet and he needs to find the sword and all the the
28:47fucking lore and everything and i'm just thinking this girl you know dude's so hot she wouldn't
28:52she wouldn't even fucking but no they the comic book girls he's like stealing stuff there she's
28:58just like hey are you single yeah and so it's like because i was like how did he get arrested
29:01why didn't he get arrested and then he gets arrested later so it's like you know it has that script
29:05doctor where it's like okay these things make sense and i like it so he grabs a he he put
29:11out on
29:11the internet he needs to find the sword this internet sleuth guy looks familiar i think i've seen him
29:17in something else it gets three hundred dollars to show him where the sword is in the short
29:21it apparently was found by a comic book store and they put it in conan's hands i thought it was
29:26gonna be fake it looked me too it looked fake it didn't look real like if you could spend money
29:31why didn't make it a little bit better that it was too silvery or something yeah but then later
29:36and later shots it looks less silvery i wonder if they did that on purpose to make us think it
29:41was fake
29:41but anyway so he grabs it there's a funny scene where he's like trying to take the sword and people
29:46are on
29:46social media and posting it and uh nobody believes him but as soon as he does the thing i you
29:53know
29:53they call it in and then there's the cops arrest him and there seems to be something going on in

30:16mad he's trying to find them they fight him a little bit and uh you know i guess the only

30:23you know she obviously um she has training yes and she's a good fighter and she's been fighting back in
30:32attorney where things have gone to shit it's a resistance and everybody sucks but then he doesn't
30:38have training so he's not a so she's saving his ass but i guess when he turns into he-man
30:43i guess he
30:43just gets combat experience because he's just he's just well the way he's moving the sword you have to
30:49know how to fucking sword fight well i think they mentioned a little bit in the beginning because he was
30:53fast and he could dodge okay that was it but that was like still when he was like 15 years
30:58ago though
30:58when he was young like 10 years old um yeah so uh what happens next after after that oh she's
31:08like
31:08i got my ship here and then so they go to the ship and there's people just like in shock
31:12that attorney
31:14is real like there's what is happening and then they fly off and it's just charming because it's
31:20so a matter of fact as well like because before they take off he's like see i did tell you
31:24guys well
31:25not you specifically people but i told like other people that i'm not crazy like this guy's crazy
31:32but i like it yeah i was still on board there's good there's good lines here and there we're not
31:36saying that all the writing is weak it's just when you see some of these you're like that's strong
31:42why aren't these other ones at that same level how many people wrote this movie though because if
31:46if it's written by a committee then someone on the committee that's what it felt like that's what
31:51in the beginning like they had some terrible moments and then uh uh his roommate too really
31:57yeah really didn't need to yeah so there's uh uh erin knee and adam knee these knee brothers
32:03primarily but then there was also chris butler and david callaham so four four people wrote this
32:08screen i'm gonna guess that one at least one if not two of them are dumb maybe not as funny
32:13as the
32:14others or something they're like no this guy's gonna watch the notebook and he's gonna get real sad
32:19he's gonna be ashamed and then the next one yeah those kinds of jokes i hate it he's gonna watch
32:22another sad rom-com i don't even remember which one it was he's hiding he's hiding his box shut up
32:30just whatever and the jokes were funny it's like the other writers should have been like no
32:35it had to be the brother there's definitely dumb brother and i just love the the the charming of of
32:40adam and then he runs into his room and he throws himself on his bed he's like a big kid
32:44because
32:45he's essentially a big kid and he's got all these drawings on the wall trying to remember of of uh
32:51attorney and that's the explanation the movie gives of all the ridiculous names and it's genius i thought
32:58it was genius they press that throughout the whole film by the way he's like maybe too much at the
33:03end
33:03they're like what did you think of what did you call yourself he's like he man and they just blast
33:07him
33:08for it's like he man so they have fun yeah yeah he's like macho machismo he's like you're fisto he's
33:14like fisto you do fist things and he's like oh fist things and then later on at the end of
33:20the film
33:20when they're all captured and they're in the and he's giving a rousing speech and he's like
33:24you know fisto and he's like yeah i fist things they immediately do three things but whatever it's
33:30time to get people on board and fight the bad guys even though it probably would have took him a
33:36little longer to convince ram man and fisto but they're just on board immediately and everybody's
33:42like wow this speech is amazing that he gives when they're at their lowest um and and then they go
33:47and
33:47fight no choice yeah uh and and this good good yeah this one uh he uh tila takes her back
33:54to the
33:54planet it's like hey it's been 15 years everything is just shambles their kingdom is gone so they're
34:00going underground yeah it's like we got to go meet up with these people they show up they meet with
34:05everyone i was like how does skeletor not find this place immediately and i was like this is
34:10going to be stupid but then he finds the place immediately and i'm like all right cool yeah he
34:14probably knew it was there the whole time he doesn't care because he's he only wants he only wants the
34:18sword now that they know it's like well the sword we it's come in and they brought him in uh
34:23they we
34:24meet the other characters and they separate he-man from his sword he's like okay we have to figure out
34:29this is a real deal and we'll see if you really are who you say you are so they put
34:34him in jail
34:35wow we're in jail we meet that sniper dude i forget what his name is with the little
34:40cyclops uh he calls it in all the enemies triclops all the enemies show up big battle happens there's
34:49battle off the screen because this one is them you know trying to uh get out of uh they got
34:56they get
34:56put in a holding area and it turns out the man-at-arms is drunk and he is just in
35:03shambles because he
35:04failed to protect i forgot to mention the king the king battles against skeletor he tries the thing
35:10and you think he might get killed but he doesn't get killed why did they put him in prison or
35:15in
35:15holding exactly so this is the one thing that doesn't hold up he made his head i would kill all
35:20of
35:20these motherfucking people but he constantly puts people in prison like it's a fucking it that's
35:26just what skeletor does i guess yeah that's the evil thing but like uh fisto and everyone they put
35:31him in jail why oh because they don't know who he is he could be inspired yeah they're just
35:35there too though no joe's kind of right because why is it why tila's hey why is tiva there and
35:40the
35:40man-at-arms i brought you the sword it's not it's not it's not prison it's the room that man
35:44-at-arms
35:45lives in it's it's literally the room they just lock the door okay and then they hey you lock the
35:49door by accident it's the maid it's where man-at-arms lives it's like it's not oh yeah i thought
35:55it was
35:55a prison cell no it's just the room they just lock the door and uh they they meet this robot
36:02which i
36:03know this is the most so it's a battle robot but um tila doesn't understand that it's a battle robot
36:11she thinks that it's a maid it's been her maid for 15 years but it's because her dad reprogrammed it
36:17uh battle bot to be her maid okay so but she should know better because like adam already knows that
36:22this is a battle bot and apparently it just to re he keeps this little control thing on him so
36:28towards
36:28the end of the film he finally plugs it in because please don't assassinate me
36:32and see that's the kind of jokes that i wanted to hit a little more to work a little bit
36:36more when
36:37he's like you almost tried to kill me i was like i'm i don't know about it i didn't see
36:41it the line
36:42itself isn't that funny and there was no payoff because yeah i thought for sure that he was going
36:46to reprogram her and then later on in the movie there was going to be a fight and she would
36:49almost
36:49kill accidentally almost accidentally and nothing ever happens it's just like it's like why are we setting
36:54all this stuff up and then doing nothing with it uh but she's a badass too she shoots it and
36:59and
36:59does some cool shit and uh in fact you know one of the sadder moments in the film was she
37:04get blown
37:04up by uh by a a big ass laser vehicle trap jaw trap jaw yeah uh but luckily her head
37:12was preserved and
37:13i was like man every time a robot character dies i'm like don't worry just go over there pick the
37:17chip
37:18up and then make a new robot and uh thankfully that that's for the for her um okay so eventually
37:25skeletor shows up when they're attacking the resistance and he's like you know get the sword
37:30and uh but he-man gets away however he goes to the platform to exit and the trap jaw is
37:38blocking the way
37:39and all of his like kind of goonies are uh and goons are right next to him this is the
37:45first time we get
37:46the he-man with the sword they're like draw the sword so he draws the sword and because he's in
37:52Eternia because he tried drawing the sword on earth and nothing really happened uh except for the message
37:58getting sent but he draws the sword this time and people are like oh shit because shit is actually
38:03happening they're looking at the sky and it's ominous and lightning and then bam all of his clothes get
38:09ripped off and he's just straight up naked and it's a joke throughout the movie that he's just
38:13fucking meat swinging naked and like everyone's looking at him and then they put the little
38:17loincloth thing on him yeah she's like oh your loincloth's hitting me or something uh but yeah
38:22and his clothes rip off later he asked like do i get my clothes bag like my shirt or do
38:28i have to
38:28constantly buy shirts and pants well it is revealed no you get your shirts back so you don't have to
38:33constantly yes anyways uh so he fights go ahead yeah he fights trap jaw and uh i mean he's strong
38:41he like
38:41rips his he rips his arm off and he's like coming into his powers he's not super competent yet but
38:47he
38:47starts to pick it up i love that hero you know thing where the juxtaposition of he's he tries to
38:54push trap jaw and he's gone and he's going nowhere and that's just like but then when he's he-man
39:00trap jaw is trying to push he-man and he-man's like rips his arm off and then use the
39:06cannon and kills all
39:07the the gunner people rambo stop and uh i'm like okay good so he may kills people
39:13fucking i love it there's a lot of people i love this that's that's how you can get alex
39:20going eight out of ten yeah and um and then they escape they get in the ship but of course
39:25they're
39:26following me the long chase sequence it's like you know return of the jedi type thing where they're
39:31going through the forest and all these things yeah oh i like that too like damn man they are not
39:35leaving anything on the floor so he gets a fucking speeder bike and then he's doing the speeder bike
39:40and there's just like constant chasing explosions and shit and um and then then they slow it down
39:47a little bit because her ship crashes and and they they talk and there's this kind of uh will they
39:52won't they moment where he uses his muscles to lip lift up something that she needs to get she little
39:57bros him immediately yeah yeah and you know they have that he goes in for a kiss and she's like
40:04no
40:04i don't like you as a friend and this and that friends friends forever little brother
40:09so i'm wondering like i don't know he-man lore i don't know if she ends up getting with him
40:14or
40:14whatever or he's more interested in she-ra when she eventually shows up or something i don't know
40:19but uh you know she's friend zones him or it's very awkward for the both of us or they don't
40:25want
40:25to admit their true feelings who knows they can explore that in in future uh things but um
40:30the skeleton comes into the sky and like he just speaks to the whole world and he's like hey
40:35uh bring me the sword uh your parents are alive and if you don't bring me the sword i'm gonna
40:40kill
40:40them immediately and he just grabs the sword and he's like i'm going yeah and i like that the message
40:45here he's like you know i'm gonna go uh protect my family and and a man should protect his family
40:51and they don't make fun of that message and i'm happy for it it's like this is this is a
40:57you know a
40:58man's job is to protect and i like that and he goes to go do that and then he beats
41:03a lot of ass
41:04he beats a lot of ass uh but first gotta have the lowest moment you know it's the hero's journey
41:09so
41:10his sword breaks um as he's as he's fighting skeletor skeletor pumps that sword full of his uh
41:17you know uh staff's uh energy and you can start to see cracks it shatters and you're like oh
41:23fuck well and and he's normal adam now so not he-man how's he gonna win yeah then odin shows
41:29himself to him and he's like are you the god of hammers no and he's oh sorry it was wrong
41:33they're
41:33ripping everything off from a bunch of other you know better movies but sorceress is like you have
41:38the power you have the power what was the line that you have the power it's not the sword we
41:43even
41:43do this thing about the power of grace the coke class i have the power yeah it's like so i
41:48i guess
41:49his messaging will annoy some people once you have that but you know it's in line with the character
41:54you know and and so and his chest glows instead of the sword glowing or whatever and then he wakes
42:00up pulls the fucking sword out of him and um beats his fucking ass to death well he's holding
42:08back all his punches like i was holding back well skeletor's making fun of him he's like you don't
42:12have you all this power you don't know how to use it he's like oh i know how to use
42:15it and then
42:16he just savages him i just choose not to i was choosing not to yeah because he tries to talk
42:20to
42:21him first and then skeletor attacks him so he's like i choose not to that's when he beats his ass
42:25and i like that it was a really good fight i mean he beats his fucking ass uh and then
42:31basically oh i
42:32forgot to mention um the let's see uh so man at arms was holding off the the you know normal
42:42army
42:42and that's when the robot explodes he gets the robot head and uh you know gives adam a message
42:51uh before they leave or adam he kind of jumps in on a hug between father and daughter because they
42:57have a moment and that's like the whole every scene is deflated by a joke and stuff but this one
43:04was all right just because i like adam and um but six months later attorney has returned to normal uh
43:11and roboto is back fully repaired and then um let's see that's one was the queen again yes the
43:19dad died he brings his roommate just to prove to him just to prove hey i wasn't crazy oh you're
43:26right
43:26yeah oh yeah you weren't crazy i'm talking to cat thanks for bringing me all the way here just to
43:31prove that you weren't crazy again it's that same writer it's like stop yeah it's like you don't need
43:36uh anyways and then and then adam does the story about he-man and then they're like oh there's a
43:42trouble at this one outpost and he's like okay i gotta do some things i gotta do some things first
43:48and he runs off and cringer follows him and he's like oh man and then tila and duncan are all
43:54like
43:54we know we knew he runs off to change this is a reference to all the you know lore stuff
44:01and despite
44:02everybody knowing that he's yeah anyways um and they go to protect uh eternia and then orko appears
44:09does the lesson of the movie and then uh duncan and the queen the queen wonder when adam's sister
44:19adora will return as she assumes her she-ra identity in a post-credit scene and then evil lynn
44:29oh i guess we didn't stay if there's four fucking post-credits dean so if we would have stayed for
44:34all the way to the end of the credits apparently evil lynn collects skeletor's yeah i was wondering
44:39because i i was like that's the one thing they didn't address yeah they did you just have to stay
44:43all the way to the end and she grabs the head so obviously she's going to reconstitute him with
44:48evil evil dark magic if it makes money if it makes money
44:55okay so what what else i mean other than that i mean i just i need to delay because i'm
45:02looking
45:02up the music is so good yeah i like that but i think it would have been way better if
45:06we did go
45:07back if we weren't back in earth the 80s vibe he doesn't have his fucking job at hr like he's

45:19the time period but i have the same problem with the same scenes that you do where it's just like

46:40like really pump up next week you know back room at the survey just making as much as back rooms

46:47obsession and those films cost you know a fucking fourth of this is budget um and it just shows it
46:53like you know if you can get the millennials out you get the zoomers out if you can get all
46:57the
46:57younger audiences out if i guess because it's such an old franchise the people didn't come out to
47:03support it maybe it's probably very popular but i don't know uh so it's probably going to be uh
47:08another bomb which is a shame um whatever i don't give a fuck i enjoyed it i thought it was
47:16fun and uh
47:17you know i would watch it again uh so that sucks uh grab a bunch of beers and you'll have

47:25preferably the beers before you get to the movie theater because everything's too expensive
47:28it is while it's competition this week scary movie uh scary movies nearing a 50 million mark
47:34while while this one's tracking 25 to 30 so scary movies kicking its ass back rooms is eyeing another
47:4130 million so about as much as this one and obsession is about 27 million um and so masters of
47:49the
47:49universe could potentially debut in fourth place on its opening weekend i think i think it'll do third
47:58place or second place i don't think i think uh obsession's been out for too long it's probably
48:03damn i just saw rotten tomato what's the rotten tomato score for scary movie oh yeah oh 31 what's
48:09the rotten tomatoes for this i don't know okay um so that's going up because it was lower than that

49:26ones so we the day he got fired from his job when he got the the lady walked out on

49:31um and skeletor is like these people yeah and uh yeah that was funny and creative i like seeing that
49:38kind of stuff when they play with stuff it's just interesting and um and it gives jared leto skeletor
49:45some interesting shit to do i know right because it's not even skeletor it's not him alex i know
49:51all right anyways um well i guess we won't have to see jared leto again because they can't
49:57motherfucking afford nobody he's booking roles i don't know how he keeps getting roles i
50:02they hit him they completely hit him from all the marketing and they did apparently he was upset about
