00:29a 60-day extended ceasefire window, which is meant to allow for negotiations to reach a permanent
00:35deal to end the fighting. The New York Times and Washington Post earlier reported that the White
00:40House was concerned that Israel could target Arakchi and Parliament Speaker Mohamed Bagher Qalibaf
00:45during the April talks, to the point where they asked regional allies to warn Tehran.
00:50The U.S. warning was sent via intermediaries, as the two countries have no formal diplomatic
00:56relations since 1980 and typically communicate indirectly. In an interview with local media,
01:03the top Iranian diplomat said he was made aware of the threat, but opted to travel to Pakistan
01:08regardless of it. He emphasized that, quote,
01:11We're Iranians, we do not fear death for our nation, as he slammed Israel calling them cowards
01:17who attack from behind and labeling them a cancerous nation.
