00:00You may have thought you heard the last of former Vice President Kamala Harris, but nope.
00:04She's reaching out to one of the Democratic Party's fastest rising stars as she looks ahead
00:08to a possible 2028 presidential run. According to a new report, Harris held an extended private
00:13phone call with New York City Mayor Zoram Mamdani with the two discussing the future of the
00:18Democratic Party. Now, that conversation is expected to be the first of many as Harris works
00:22to rebuild her relationships with the party's progressive wing. The outreach came just days
00:27after candidates backed by Mamdani scored a series of primary victories in New York,
00:32further solidifying his growing influence with Dems. One political strategist The Post spoke to
00:37said, quote, the 2024 loss made it clear that the activist left, if not energized,
00:43has enough leverage to sink a Democratic nominee, and she would rather have those people knocking
00:47doors than burning down her campaign before it starts. Harris currently leads early polling for
00:52the party's 2028 presidential nomination, though she's not announced whether or not she's actually
00:57going to run. And yeah, you heard that right. We're not even done with 2026, and we are already
01:02polling for the presidency. Politics never sleeps, my friends.
