01:28it's time that we get you all checked into your spectral suite
01:31because the next chapter in our phantasmal pageant is about to begin.
01:35And trust us, you don't want to miss one supernatural second of it.
01:39When we last left off, Onyx on dicks failed the extermination,
01:44was ripped to pieces by killer dolls and thrown in the trash.
01:47While Throb Zombie shocked misogynists everywhere
01:50by snatching the win and proving they are, so far,
01:54the reigning king of filth this season.
01:57Now, at this point in the competition,
01:59our marvelous little monsters have only been tested in their abilities to sew,
02:03craft, and make up their faces.
02:04But I think it's high time we start to see if they can perform
02:08as well as they can paint.

09:23For this week's floor show, you must create a look based on the theme of a haunted hotel.
09:29Are you a murdered cook whose spirit haunts the hotel hell-bent on revenge?
09:34Are you a slain socialite whose spirit roams the halls looking for a young stud's soul to drain?
09:41Whatever story you come up with for your new ghostly visage,
09:44it must be clearly linked to the hotel theme.
09:47And, as always, we expect to see your brand of drag reflected in your final form.
09:54As a second part to the challenge, you must perform a lip-sync number to one of our favorite songs
09:59from 1913.
10:01There's so many to choose from.
10:04There really are.

10:09Lastly, this week's Fright Beat will be a little game of chance.
10:14You must each select a key from the hotel registry.
10:17One of the keys is a free room upgrade key.
10:21And you can choose to use that key to either save yourself from facing extermination,
10:27save someone else from extermination,
10:30or put someone else up for extermination.

16:14one of the victims we were all victims of this oh hi my inspiration for hunting hotel is a surprise

16:24slightly and politely move on my inspiration for haunted hotel is dead gothic showgirl and I'm using a
16:31beautiful headpiece that I created myself I use unconventional materials because it's just like what I had
16:36access to when I started drag I had no money so I would just grab shit around the house stuff
16:42that I already had and just
16:43would hot glue and piece it together and make it something glamorous I'm not worried about the lip sync
16:47it's what I do it's like one of my best qualities as a drag performer so I'm excited I haven't
16:52performed
16:53in a minute so I'm gonna give him a show the more I'm sitting here the more I'm thinking about

17:01I have to make a hundred percent sure that Jarvis is not gonna use this key on me so I

26:24Tonight, we've asked our contestants to use their drag skills to conceptualize and create
26:29new ghostly looks and characters that would fit into our Haunted Hotel theme.
26:35Not only have we tasked them with creating looks that will tell us the story of how their
26:39incorporeal character died, but they must also put on a lip-sync performance to one of our favorite
26:44spectral songs. Here to help us judge tonight's phantasmal spectacular is celebrated horror
26:50writer, historian, and returning Dragula judge, the one and only Tananarive Due.
26:58Tananarive, darling, welcome back to the Underworld. We do hope you'll enjoy your
27:03superior king suite up on the 13th floor, and please let us know if Israel can help you with your

27:09I'm so excited to be back, and actually Israel can come up to my room and help me with whatever
27:14he wants.
27:17And our next guest judge is recurring Dragula royalty. He's the winner of the Boulay
27:22Brothers Dragula Season 3 and is considered to be the contemporary king of all kings, the one and only
27:28Landon Sider. Landon, I would say I'm surprised to see you, but as we all know, Boulay Manor is a
27:35place
27:35that you can check into, but never out of. I'm happy to stay checked in as long as you'd like,
27:43but I'm going to need Israel to help me with a few things, too.

34:12One of my favorite floor shows of the season, which is very short so far.

34:16It is definitely my favorite floor show of the season so far.
34:19Let's talk about Orgotic.
34:20So far, I am excited by everything I see Orgotic do.
34:25He gave us what his drag would look like as a ghost, which is important.
34:29I do think that we could have been brought a little bit more into the world of like a hotel.
34:33Absolutely.
34:34Let's talk about JK for a minute because the glow up was so there.
34:39I mean, JK rose to this challenge.
34:42And tonight, he showed us his strength.
34:45It's still a little cardboardy cutout, right?
34:48But it was really innovative with the cabinet opening.
34:50And he showed us that he knows how to perform, which is a very important quality we look for in
34:55a super monster.
34:56I agree.
34:56Let's talk about Blackberry.
34:58I did not think this was Blackberry's strongest look.
35:00However, the props were great.
35:02I loved the fags across the cigarette.
35:07Fucking me up.
35:10Her lip sync was really interesting, too, because she delivered the lyrics almost like a stand-up comedian.
35:16I didn't love the ash on the face, though.
35:18Is that what that was?
35:19I'm assuming, you know, cigarettes, high, ash, there's white stuff on the face.
35:22I thought it was maybe their way to kind of evoke like the afterlife, a glowing effect.
35:26Like, I guess it wasn't successful because we don't even know what it was.
35:28Well, that's what I was going to say.
35:29That's the issue, right?
35:30We don't know what it is.
35:31Let's talk about Jarvis.
35:33I feel like he was trepidatious on the stage.
35:36Jarvis' thoughts were driving their performance.
35:39The hat fell off.
35:40There was a little, like, clunkiness with the luggage.
35:42And all of it looked amazing, but the strength of the performance was undermined, I think, by the nerves.
35:47I think the minute his hat fell off, he, like, went inside his head.
35:52Well, my hat fell off in this, my beautiful 3D-printed skeleton case.
35:56Yeah, it's just a bad day for me.
35:58And you could see it for the rest of the performance.
36:01And I'm like, so what?
36:02Your hat fell off.
36:02I wish mine would fall off.

39:24I assume that you're a guest, but that could have been in so many different levels.
39:28I also had some questioning about how this character fit into the hotel, per se, but as far as like
39:35storytelling to the music and enchanting me, I found myself perma-smiling through the whole thing.
39:42There is an art form to lip syncing, and you know how to do it.
39:45You hit every little beat, every inflection of the voice, and that's not something that every drag artist can do,
39:52unfortunately.
39:54But it's true.
39:56Throb's look is cool, but I really don't know how it fits into Honey Hotel.
40:00Let's talk about JK.
40:03JK, that was a fantastic performance.
40:07You have a fantastically original costume.
40:11I totally understood the bellhop connection to the hotel.

43:31And you missed some opportunities too with that boa.
43:34Like, I could tell you didn't really quite know what to do with it.
43:36And that to me just speaks that maybe you didn't rehearse enough with it.

43:44Satana looked gorgeous, like proper sepia moment.
43:47Maybe they could have had a bit more of a story of how they died.
43:49I didn't understand how they died, but gorgeous.
43:53Now let's talk about anaphylactic.
43:56You have so much beautiful, intricate details in the back.
44:00And I know that that's part of your story.
44:02You wanted the surprise. You wanted the gag.
44:04Bringing all those stones to the front of the dress really would have elevated this look.
44:08I feel like you had great dramatic ideas. They just needed to be pushed further.
44:12With the gun, so effective.
44:14But I would have backed it up with like a physicality that echoed the combustion of a gun.
44:20And just added to the drama.
44:22You're theatrical. It's obvious. You know what you're doing on stage.
44:25And your show was very compelling, but you sort of did 75% of it just standing there.
44:31And then you saved the story for the last 25%. And I think that hurt you in tonight's score.
44:35As a storyteller and writer myself, I love your story.
44:39So I think it is just a matter of maybe not coming in time, not enough all throughout the performance.
44:45But it really is a fantastic look.
