Google just launched a powerful new weapon against AI deepfakes

With SynthID, Google can now detect AI-generated images and videos, verify their editing history, and even trace whether a photo was modified using Gen-AI tools. This new content credential system is being integrated directly into Chrome and Google Search to help users identify fake content online.

Even bigger? Industry giants like OpenAI, NVIDIA, and ElevenLabs are joining the alliance to adopt SynthID across their own AI models.

This could completely change the future of AI content verification and online trust.
