00:00Muar MP Syed Saddiq, Syed Abdul Rahman, will find out tomorrow if he stays a free man or go to
00:05prison.
00:06And there's more than just his political future riding on the verdict, his wedding date.
00:12In June last year, the Court of Appeal cleared Syed Saddiq of all charges of misusing Armada's funds,
00:19including allegations of stealing, mishandling money, and money laundering.
00:25That overturned an earlier decision, where the High Court had found him guilty and sentenced him to seven years in
00:31prison,
00:32two strokes of the cane, and a 10 million ringgit fine.
00:36However, prosecutors appealed to the Federal Court to try to overturn his acquittal.
00:42A three-judge panel, comprising Court of Appeal President Datuk Seri Abu Bakar Jais, Datuk Cheh Mohamed Ruzima Ghazali,
00:49and Datuk Colin Lawrence Sekwara, will deliver their decision at 9am tomorrow,
00:55whether the former Muda President should go to jail.
00:58Meanwhile, Syed Saddiq's personal life is also on hold, pending the verdict.
01:04His fiancée, singer Bella Astila, recently shut down rumours that the couple would marry on June 26th.
01:11She said both families have yet to set a wedding date,
01:14because they're waiting to see how tomorrow's Federal Court decision turns out.
01:19The couple got engaged on March 28th this year.
