00:07We welcome you back, fans, to the arena, where we still are trying as announcers up here to sort all
00:15this out.
00:16Ric Flair with the press, Charles Robinson made the call, I still think, Ric Flair said, yes, I give up,
00:24and Charles Robinson said no, I still believe that.
00:27Ric Fischoff came out, reversed the decision, and awarded it to Piper.
00:34Now, you're like me, you're out there thinking, who's got the stroke here?
00:41Who can override hope? Who can make the call?
00:45We will try to, as best we can, sort this out, and get on with these two remaining main event
00:53matches here at Slam Marine.
00:58What a strange, confusing situation that was.
01:02Whose decision stands? That's the question.
01:05Let me say this, as Sting awaits one of the biggest battles he's ever had to endure,
01:11I don't think there's any question we all know by being WCW employees,
01:15that even though Eric Fischoff had been out of the scene, had lost to Ric Flair, was no longer president,
01:22that he still was very much involved and politically tied in pro wrestling in WCW.
01:29He did not go away.
01:33And he came out and made a bold statement.
01:38A few minutes ago, Piper walks out with his hand raised.
01:45The questions continue to ring up.
01:48And as they do, one of the biggest questions of the night is,
01:53who's going to win?
01:55Sting or Goldberg?
01:58He can break down the questions even further.
02:01Can Sting survive a spear and a jackhammer?
02:04Can Goldberg come out of a Scorpion Death Drop?
02:07Or a Scorpion Death Lock?
02:09Or, if you throw all those great moves out, will it be somebody else?
02:15Remember, this was the match that was made by Ric Flair.
02:19And we all believe in an effort to separate what would be an incredibly lethal combination together.
02:27Flair has them on opposite sides of the ring,
02:30and that's the way he wants it, to maintain control of it.
02:35That situation's still up in the air.
02:37Who has the final say?
02:39Well, I don't know.
02:40Hard to tell.
02:44You can just feel the intensity of the excitement
02:47from the fans standing, mounting,
02:52pressing to the ring for this main event.
02:59I think they should know how much they respect each other.
03:03You have to, if you're an athlete in WCW,
03:07have an immense amount of respect for both men.
03:10Some may not say it.
03:11Some may not try to show it.
03:13But they all got it for Goldberg, and they've got it for Sting.
03:17Think of what these two men have meant
03:18to professional wrestling in the 1990s.
03:24And as we head towards the millennium,
03:26what they're going to mean to WCW in the year 2000 and beyond.
03:30First blow struck by Goldberg, second blow by Goldberg.
03:34No, yes.
03:35Sting tried to hook the arm and drag him over,
03:37but Goldberg just held his ground.
03:41He's so powerful, so tough.
03:44It's so hard to get off his feet.
03:53Oh, you can see it starting to build here.
03:57He's getting ready.
03:58And Sting gets back up, and then goes way down.
04:05Goldberg fired up in the early days.
04:07Goldberg fired up in the early days, using that raw power to take Sting up and over the top rope,
04:12and down to the floor, and an opportunity now for Sting to regroup.
04:17He's favoring that right shoulder.
04:19He could have hurt it.
04:20And Goldberg's got the momentum going his way.
04:23He is absolutely unstoppable.
04:25We've seen it so many times.
04:27And he feeds off it.
04:28He knows when it's going his way.
04:29Oh, yeah.
04:30Everybody knows.
04:30He adapts to it.
04:33Sting is doing a darn good job of buying some time here to slow that momentum down.
04:37And as Goldberg had things going his way,
04:41Sting got to the floor and then walked it off.
04:52Sting and Goldberg, again, Goldberg, knee to the gut.
04:56Shoot Sting in, who ducked the foot.
04:59Drop kick and bring Sting to the legs, to the jaw.
05:02Sting waiting.
05:03Goldberg over to the floor.
05:04But he landed on his feet.
05:06And he stands there and looks at Sting eye to eye.
05:13You know, we've come into the edge of the new athlete.
05:15And Goldberg represents that.
05:18The athlete, when you're hitting with the move that you know that seems to just speed off it,
05:22as you said, when you come back at you.
05:25Impervious to pain.
05:27Indestructible.
05:32Of course, both of these men, former World Heavyweight Champions,
05:35no title at stake in this match, but you can just feel it in the crowd.
05:39The intensity would be equal or sometimes even more than a championship match between these two.
05:46Look at Goldberg's left knee.
05:47He's got that pretty well braced up.
05:55Goldberg just hooked Sting.
05:57It's too much cross-arm breaker applied.
06:00Submission halt here.
06:01Sting trying to maneuver out of it.
06:02Goldberg does not have the legs across the chest or the body.
06:06So maybe the leverage is not as good as he'd like it.
06:10Sting did a good job of fighting away from it that time, guys.
06:13While Sting trying to kick out of the move,
06:15it might be better if Sting were trying to roll over and connect both of his hands to break that
06:20arm breaker.
06:20But he's able to turn it around on Goldberg.
06:23He didn't roll over and he's frontside and there's the rope, so Goldberg gives the break.
06:28Sting, it seemed like, got some momentum back and Goldberg just stopped it in midstream.
06:37I don't think there's been anybody like Goldberg in our sport where you have to just readjust,
06:42adjust and readjust again your strategy as it's going on.
06:46You know, that's true.
06:47A lot of men you can see wrestle come down the pike and you know how to adapt to them.
06:51Goldberg changes all the time.
06:53Sting with a great series of moves that time.
06:55First to the midsection, then to the head.
06:57Sting walks around and then rethinks the strategy.
07:02He'll pick him up and send him in again.
07:05Goldberg across the top.
07:06Sting with the knee.
07:07You talked about it moments ago.
07:09Sting saw it as well, Brain.
07:11The knee with a brace on it.
07:12Sting went right to the attack.
07:14Then drops down with all of his weight directly onto the knee of Goldberg.
07:19On again.
07:21Well, they say who's next and maybe Goldberg.
07:26Sting's showing us, as many wrestlers have done,
07:28that there's much more to superstars than just raw physical ability.
07:33There's great strategies, great thinking down in the ring.
07:37Oh, look at him, bend him.
07:40It's like a bow and arrow.
07:41Look at Goldberg's pure strength in his legs, able to break the hold.
07:46Even with one bad wheel.
07:51He can push him off without having to really use that knee, just using the hips.
07:57The veteran Sting is, taking advantage of every opportunity.
08:06In a short span, we've seen some amazing moves.
08:10And we've really seen the momentum of this match switch back and forth in the early stages.
08:16But Sting seems to have maintained control now after working over the knee of Goldberg.
08:22How long will that control last is one of the questions that's happened throughout the months.
08:28The short months that Goldberg's been in our sport.
08:31We've seen guys get Goldberg down, get the momentum going their way,
08:34but it's never been for any lengthy period of time.
08:37However, Sting smartly went to that knee, as you see, braced up.
08:42That turned things around.
08:44Let's see what Goldberg can do to counteract it all.
08:46I think Goldberg's hurt.
08:48I know you're right.
08:51And one would also think that the longer this match goes,
08:54that the edge would go to the more experienced wrestler Sting.
08:58The wrestler has been out there in longer matches throughout his career.
09:01It's always seen to help Sting.
09:03That did not work at all.
09:06Goldberg gets up to the deck.
09:09And drives Sting down.
09:10He's still alive.
09:11One, two, oh no.
09:13And there's still plenty of life in the legs of Sting as he quickly kicks out at two.
09:19Sting's endurance has been one of the things that's made him a true superstar in this sport.
09:26Goldberg snaps on a swinging neck brick in a hurry.
09:29Showing his speed and acceleration of moves that time.
09:32Favoring that left leg, though, as he gets up slowly.
09:37Just lays on him.
09:38Not a bad attempt that time.
09:40If the leg gives down, you're close enough.
09:42Try to make a pin.
09:43Go for it.
09:45Goldberg standing.
09:46Trying to shut out the pain.
09:48Kicks him with that leg.
09:49Shoots him in with authority.
09:51Runs.
09:52And luckily hit the turnbuckle pad before he connected with the ring post on the outside.
09:58He was going for the spear there.
09:59And Sting sees an opener.
10:01And walks right through the door.
10:06There's still a lot left in Goldberg.
10:07He's getting up.
10:09Sting just hit the clothesline off the top rope to perfection.
10:13Oh!
10:15He's gonna try to do it again.
10:16He didn't get the first one good.
10:18Not much acceleration, but plenty on the second one.
10:20He got that one good.
10:21Maybe another one.
10:24Oh, what a move!
10:27Spare him in midair!
10:28Goldberg whacked him!
10:31What a move!
10:33Spare the finger in midair!
10:36And both men are down.
10:38Mandatory kick count from Bret Hart with a chair.
10:42What are you doing?
10:44Hey, he quit this company.
10:45What's he doing here?
10:48He has no business here.
10:50You're right.
10:50He's not even with us.
10:52Oh!
10:55No!
10:57On that leg.
10:58Oh, no.
10:59Damaged knee.
11:00He's gonna destroy that knee.
11:01Remember, the last time we saw him, it was in Toronto.
11:04When he wore that steel chest protector against Goldberg.
11:07And now he's using the steel chair.
11:09The bell is sounding to throw this thing out.
11:12Well, like the last time you heard him talk, Bret Hart said he can beat Goldberg in five minutes.
11:18No trouble.
11:20Is this what this is all about?
11:22Beating him in five minutes with the chair?
11:26We've got some wrestlers coming out.
11:30Bret Hart.
11:31Oh, look at that.
11:31Scott Steiner.
11:32And Rick Steiner.
11:34The Steiner.
11:35The Steiner.
11:36They're back.
11:37And they're winning on stake.
11:39Boy, if the Steiners are back together, nobody can beat that team.
11:45And they're stomping on Goldberg as well.
11:50They're attacking both franchise members of World Championship Wrestling.
11:56The match thrown out.
11:59Is this what Bret Hart means by not showing him enough respect?
12:03Not using him enough?
12:08Bret Hart's actions inexcusable here.
12:12And the same thing can be said about the Steiners right now.
12:16So easy to attack a man who's had a match like this when they're down.
12:20But, Tony, sometimes a man or men has to do what they have to do at the time.
12:25Obviously, the Steiners want to make a bold statement about tonight that they are back together.
12:31And they wanted to use Sting and Goldberg, their match, their aftermath, as their forum, as their platform.
12:40Oh, they've sent that message loud and clear.
12:43Look at Goldberg.
12:44He's still fighting.
12:45He's trying to get up.
12:50We're going to try to clean this all up.
12:55We're going to tie çocuk
12:55on the road.
12:56We're going to tie our next story all up.
12:57Askabet пот通
12:57We are going to tie something away to Karen Roberts.
12:57But that's what I'm bringing up in.
12:59It's not perfect.
