00:00I've been covering Prime Day for five years and here are my four top tips for how to get the
00:04best
00:05deals during Prime Day sales. Step one is to get prepared. Now obviously this year's sales are
00:09already live however you can still find that some things drop in price even after the sales have
00:14started. So my best tip is to put all of the devices that you know you want in your basket
00:19or in a wish list before the deals start. That way you're not so tempted by impulse purchases.
00:24Which leads me on to my second tip. Don't rush. This year's deals event is four days long meaning
00:30you've got plenty of time to score the devices you want. That means you've got ample time to read
00:35reviews about the products. Don't just go by the ones on Amazon though because unfortunately
00:39historically there have been some issues with bots on Amazon. Instead check out websites like Tech
00:44Radar which put devices through their paces and give their impartial view on how good or bad a product
00:48is. There are tools as well that can help you spot fake reviews on Amazon like fake spots so make
00:53sure
00:53to check those out before hitting go. Tip number three on that note is don't be fooled by big
00:58percentage discounts. We see this every year especially on products like electric toothbrushes.
01:04Instead use price checkers like Camel Camel Camel or Amazon's own price history tool. Although I find
01:09that can be a little bit general versus the granular insights you can get from the Camel Camel Camel
01:13Chrome extension or again websites like Tech Radar where price analysis is part of our deals discussion.
01:19That also includes looking at things like when a product launched. A massive discount
01:23might look really good but if the product is 10 years old and you might have to replace it soon
01:27that's not quite as good value as we'd hope for. Now my last tip is about the very last day
01:31of the
01:32deals. It's very tempting to check out everything well in advance but in reality further price drops
01:37can happen as the deals events go on. To the same end stock issues can happen so it's a little
01:42bit
01:42of a balancing act. If you do miss the deal you were hoping for my best recommendation is to look
01:47online to find alternative products that are also on sale. Again this is something we do quite often on
01:52Tech Radar but I know there's loads of resources out there like Reddit that do the same. The worst
01:56thing you can do at this point is to go for a no-name brand alternative so it's good to
02:00look at
02:01trusted sites to find out what works best. So those are my top four tips let me know in the

02:05down below what you're shopping for this year and head to techradar.com for all of the best Prime Day
02:09deals.
