00:00Thanks for this summer's festival, but for me particularly, the surf upgrade is a massive, massive deal for the boardmasters.
00:06We've got it back as a four-star in the men's women's competitions, which means we get a high level
00:10of athlete coming to compete here.
00:12It gives the maximum amount of points that we can give to our British surfers competing against the international surfers
00:18on their home break here official,
00:20which is super important for all of our surfers, but particularly Lucas and Elise, who are trying to get onto
00:26the next, onto the Challenger Tour,
00:27the next Tour, so QS4000 is having huge opportunities to do that.
00:32During the week, we're also running a training camp with a legendary performance coach, Nick Cade is coming over from
00:39Hollis,
00:40to train the development team, so the surf, the junior surfers, who are actually able to compete in the 4
00:45,000,
00:45but to try and put them on that pathway, there's all eyes gently in the background, but towards the LA
00:52and the BIMS.
00:54Also returning, so I'm pleased to say, Luke Dillon's coming out from Best of the Time and having been helping
00:59with the coaching scene for the last couple of years.
01:01He is getting back at the water, we'll be giving him a wild card to compete, Yuki Local Boy, former
01:07British No. 1,
01:08so it's great that he's bound for competing, and as I say, we'll be giving him a wild card, so
01:12you'll see him at the War Masters this summer.
01:15I'm also really, really proud of the work we've done on the Foundation.
01:20From last summer's festival, we've raised £120,000 and supported 42 organisations across the two pillars that make up our
01:28funding mantra for the War Masters.
01:30One of those is to support the cultures of the festival itself, so surfing, music, art, creative, etc.
01:37And the second is to support the communities that host us here in Yuki and Fristow and Watergate and the
01:42surrounding areas.
01:44The grants span surf lifesaving, surfing development, music arts, environmental education, mental health support, youth unemployment, outdoor activity,
01:53scenes, all enriching community infrastructure, reaching an estimated 60,000 people across the region.
