Part 2 of Hanoi Uncovered - is all about one thing... eating, eating, and even more eating! 😍

In this episode, I'll take you beyond the typical tourist trail to discover some of Hanoi's best-kept culinary secrets—hidden gems that 99% of visitors never experience. These are places that may not have Michelin stars or social media hype, but have been serving incredible food to generations of local Vietnamese families.

Along the way, I'll also introduce you to Hanoi's fascinating coffee culture, from nostalgic cafés loved by the older generation to trendy spots where young locals gather today. We'll explore beautiful lakes, iconic attractions, and some of the city's best places to shop for affordable souvenirs—while, of course, stopping for plenty of amazing food along the way.

Feeling adventurous? I also tried one of Hanoi's most controversial street foods at a legendary local stall, as well as another authentic Vietnamese specialty hidden deep inside the corridors of old apartment blocks—places that most tourists would never even think to look.

And no food journey is complete without dessert. We'll end the day with some of Hanoi's most beloved traditional sweet treats, made entirely from natural ingredients. Many of these recipes were created during wartime, when food was scarce, and have been lovingly passed down through generations.

So even if you've just finished a meal, don't be surprised if this episode leaves you hungry all over again. Get ready to uncover the authentic flavors of Hanoi—one unforgettable bite at a time.

00:00I have to say, Hanoi is honestly one of the most special and unique cities in Southeast
00:05Asia, and the food alone is reason enough to visit.
00:09Our second day was literally just eating from morning to night, no regrets whatsoever.
00:15We tried everything from local favourites and street food to this controversial cool
00:20snail noodle, Bun Ok Noi, a dish I bet most tourists have never tried before.
00:25This vlog is a little longer than usual, but it is packed with great food and hidden gems.
00:31Come explore Hanoi with me, and I hope you enjoy the trip.
00:37So we are walking right now to our breakfast place and the weather is really nice.
00:44Hanoi's weather is cooling, even though it's sunny right now, but it's still very cooling.
00:49It's around 20 plus degrees Celsius, which is the perfect weather for most people.
01:04At night it can be a bit more cooling.
01:11I see people selling matcha over there, like powdered matcha.
01:27So this is Circle K, it's kind of like our 7-Eleven or Family Mart, you know.
01:35They are very, very big.
01:37The sky today is very blue.
01:41Where?
01:43Okay, let's go matcha Tokyo.
01:53Okay, let's get some matcha.
02:04So this is the matcha Tokyo.
02:07We order the matcha latte, coconut.
02:10Is it?
02:11The matcha coconut.
02:12Matcha coconut.
02:13And also the Japan premium.
02:17Japan premium is like a ice water with like a high quality.
02:22Yeah, cold whisk.
02:24So the process, they are whisking it right now.
02:26Like you can see a lot of nice bubbles.
02:30Yeah, that one is mine and that one is yours.
02:32Wow.
02:35They already make it.
02:36Yeah.
02:39We can try it on the different.
02:43Okay, and then this one is like the matcha Tokyo.
02:48It looks like a science lab over here.
02:51No.
02:52No.
02:55Haha.
02:56Hours is done.
02:57We are here to collect.
03:00Yeah.
03:01Coconut.
03:02Okay.
03:04Okay.
03:06The straw is here.
03:24Very coconut and also very matcha.
03:28Let me try mine.
03:31Mmm.
03:36Yeah.
03:37This is like a Thai coconut.
03:40Bottled coconut.
03:42Yeah.
03:48Mine is very good.
03:49Yeah.
03:49The way that they whisk it is very nice.
03:52Yum.
03:59So the whole street over here have a lot of shops that sell ceramics and the China.
04:06You know, and this is one of the more impressive shops around.
04:10You can see there are so many, so many different products.
04:15So artistic.
04:24All these are like the soy sauce.
04:29Yeah.
04:32I think they even have like the bowl for matcha.
04:47You can consider buying this as gifts.
04:51Wow.
04:53Yeah.
04:54So if you are having a big bag, please come in with caution.
04:59Like this guy in front.
05:01So there's a Vietnamese coffee.
05:03Vietnamese coffee.
05:05Make like the cup kind of thing for the dripping coffee.
05:11So we chose two spoons for Zach and Asher.
05:15Yeah.
05:16They're gonna like it.
05:19The Batrang shop so meticulously had the ceramic item for us.
05:26So that I can bring it back home with the peace of mind.
05:31For Zach and Asher.
05:34Right now we are going to the Ming Lun Jankam.
05:37Jankam.
05:38Which is the fried eel noodle.
05:41So you can see this is a very small shop.
05:43Let's go.
05:45Wow.
05:45Look at that.
05:46So this noodle is the transparent glass whammy sally.
05:51And what we ordered was the special assorted.
05:55Which is not even in the menu over here.
05:57We can see the menu.
05:59Yeah.
05:59Good job.
06:00Yay.
06:02Yay.
06:02Yay.
06:02Yay.
06:04Yay.
06:05Yay.
06:06Yay.
06:06Yay.
06:16Yay.
06:32I'm gonna put some pickles okay I'm gonna try the soup first
06:59the soup is very special very flavorful I can I can taste the stir-fried eel from the
07:07soup also because all the tastes are blend in there let's try the noodle this is
07:16the transparent whammy sally
07:30it's very chewy at the same time very very whole
07:46the pickle garlic goes very well with it this is the fried eel
07:57this is extra good I think we can order more this is another type of
08:10eel this is also very special
08:15that's the skin the skin of the eel so this is crunchy very aromatic now very thoroughly
08:25fried so it's really you can hear the crunch as I'm eating
08:37it's very good
08:41it's very good
08:49the one that I see by people ordering extra this extra fried eel because it's really good
08:58so this is the chili oil let's see if it enhance the flavor by a lot
09:24the spice make it really good
09:26the spice make it really good
09:52it's very good
09:55so this is sweet
09:55it's really bad
09:58we get it
09:58okay
09:58we do
09:58we do
09:59you
09:59you
10:08you
10:08you
10:21yeah I paid just enough so we have we have paid for our noodles our special
10:32noodles and the extra you so all together it was two hundred and ten thousand which is considered
10:38slightly more premium in for street food in Vietnam because you considered slightly more
10:45expensive food here yeah the price is more expensive so it's but it's really really good
11:04yes that was a strong coffee the coconut taste blends very well with the coffee
11:23delicious there's some dried coconut flesh
11:36I like it so cold I brain freeze
12:12look at this beautiful lake this lake is called the Bei Mao lake in Hanoi it's huge it's also
12:20located in the middle of the city not too far from Hon Kiem lake yeah it's beautiful and you
12:28can see people fishing over there and behind us there is a bar called a sipping bar so people
12:35will just go there and chill and sip on their alcohol you see some island over there in the
12:44middle of the lake as well it's called the United Island you see so many different trees did you
12:54know Hanoi is the home to around 3000 lakes and ponds possibly making it the capital city with the most
13:00lakes in the entire world how incredible is that and this aren't just pretty bodies of water they are
13:08truly the soul of the city they cool the air reduce the noise and give both locals and visitors this
13:15beautiful little escapes from the busy city life you'll find people here every single day morning walks
13:22friends catching up over coffee by the water or just quietly sitting and soaking it all in
13:29there's something so calm and unhurried about it all
13:33honestly a little reminder to just slow down and breathe
13:39with the weather in in Hanoi
13:42okay this is a very nice walk even though it looks very sunny I mean if we are in some
13:48countries like in
13:49in the equator like Malaysia walking in the middle of like 1 o'clock 1 p.m. in the afternoon
13:56would be
13:57almost impossible it would be like really hot but over here you see a lot of people are still walking
14:02their dogs so cute hello so good boy yeah still walking the dog because the the weather over here is
14:11cooling even though it's sunny but still very cooling and you can see today the sky is blue
14:19the weather is beautiful yesterday was raining a little and today is just clear so we are very blessed to
14:28have today's weather in Hanoi oh see there are some people sunbathing over there yeah
14:39getting their dose of vitamin D
14:45and a lot of people picnic underneath the shade and over here wow there is a train track
14:53I wonder what is this train track for is it like a for the kids it looks like a train
14:59track that will
15:00bring a small train around the lake looks very fun yeah
15:10but I don't see any train around here now
15:19see there are so many businesses over there nail salon coffee pet pet shop
15:32okay over here people are doing some construction
15:37I still can walk
15:48it looks like it looks like the train is not operational because of all the tubes over here
15:54so I guess the train track runs maybe on a weekend when there are more demand
16:05so we are walking to Saint Joseph cathedral now
16:10oh how did how did the person go over there there's someone over there
16:15what is the person doing over there how did he go over there
16:20did he swim over there someone taking pictures
16:29such a beautiful and relaxing walk
16:34people are so chill
16:39you see people are jogging yeah some of them are walking
16:47it's just very relaxing and peaceful and there's a bridge over there
16:53some bridges I think that that bridge over there look like a small water
17:02blockage kind of thing like a reservoir
17:05that stops water from the river that controls water from the river
17:12wow so many beautiful flowers
17:26look I'm in the middle of so many beautiful flowers
17:35Zach and Asher would definitely like this this looks like an adventure
17:42I'll try not to walk on the
17:48see try not to walk on the the muddy parts
17:55okay it's so sunny right now so we are going to book a grab to our next location the Saint
18:00Joseph cathedral
18:27we have arrived at Saint Joseph cathedral
18:30a very important landmark in Hanoi see it kind of look like the Notre Dame in France
19:02thank you
19:56thank you
20:11so this cafe over here that sells the lemon tea is something that all the visitors here will drink
20:21come let's go
20:23so from here this lemon tea place we can see the St. Joseph Cathedral
20:28so majestic and so beautiful
20:32fun fact so this cathedral has lived through a lot of like many many many years
20:38where the French colonization and the American colonization the war and
20:47yeah so many historical events it has lived through
20:53so this such a beautiful place
20:55so this is what we ordered two two special two special lemon tea
21:03and this is made from the young rice that is still green color
21:15let's open it
21:19sticky rice but the rice is the young rice that is still like greenish color
21:26you see they even tie it with the rice
21:30they even tie it with the rice thing
21:32and this is made from the young rice
21:48wow
21:49Wow! How do we eat it?
21:53I need a spoon.
21:54Oh, that's a spoon.
22:04Smells very fresh, very...
22:09Like a sweet, sweet pea kind of smell.
22:13Like really unique.
22:15Let me do a taste test.
22:19I have too many gadgets on me.
22:21Okay, taste test time.
22:24First time taste test.
22:35So, the white color stuff on this is a coconut.
22:41And because the rice is very chewy,
22:49I like this. I like this a lot.
22:53Let's try the legendary lemon tea.
22:57Lemon tea.
23:05This is sweet and refreshing.
23:09It goes very well together.
23:12With this.
23:18So, this is actually glutathione rice.
23:21Young glutathione rice.
23:23Young rice.
23:23Young rice.
23:26Can you try?
23:32So, there are...
23:35I think this is a lotus seed, if I'm not using it.
23:37Lotus?
23:39Yeah, lotus seed.
23:40Yeah.
23:40So, it makes it like very powdery, chewy.
23:45And the flavour is like sweet, refreshing and explosion.
23:52So, the rice is the sticky rice but young.
23:56Okay, the rice is the sticky rice but young.
23:58Oh, but this...
24:00This elephant ear do not eat.
24:03Do not eat this elephant ear.
24:06Good story.
24:07So, when I was 20 plus years old and I came back from the States,
24:11I like to try out new things.
24:12And I actually...
24:14I mean, I like to try different plants and herbs and all those things.
24:16And I actually took a bite of the elephant ear and I almost died
24:21because of the oxalates that are in fact.
24:22So, oxalates are like very sharp crystal-like molecular structure
24:26that if we ingest it, it's gonna cause a lot of inflammation
24:30because of like the crystals, the crystal shape of the oxalate.
24:33And yeah, I couldn't breathe for like quite a long time.
24:37And yeah, I almost died.
24:39So, elephant ear be careful.
24:41So, this lemon tea is refreshing, sweet.
24:47And you can really taste the tea.
24:50Yeah.
24:50This is...
24:51And sugar as well.
24:56So, it's a very...
25:00balanced infusion of both lemon and tea and a little bit of sugar.
25:06It's refreshing.
25:09Easy to drink.
25:11And most importantly, we are facing the very majestic St. Joseph Cathedral.
25:19So, this is a smoke that a lot of people in Hanoi, I see them smoking.
25:26I think it's called the bong.
25:28I'm not so sure what is it called, but yeah.
25:30Thuk lao.
25:31Thuk.
25:33Thuk.
25:33Thuk.
25:34Thuk lao.
25:35Thuk lao.
25:36Thuk lao.
25:37Thuk lao.
25:38Thuk lao.
25:39So, they do one path, but they hide so long.
25:42Yeah.
25:43Thuk lao, one path and you get hide for a very long time.
25:46Yes.
25:48After St. Joseph Cathedral, my girlfriend Kelia told me about this unique and pretty controversial dish,
25:55only found in Hanoi.
25:57Naturally, I couldn't resist.
25:59So, we booked a car and headed straight over.
26:04Bung op ngoi.
26:06Op ngoi.
26:07Ngoi is called like cooling.
26:09So, see.
26:10A little bit of chili oil.
26:12A little bit of chili oil.
26:14Yeah.
26:14This is extremely rare.
26:16Tourists cannot get this.
26:20Only local.
26:24Okay, take the noodle, put it in there and I eat.
26:25Okay, let me try.
26:43Mmm.
26:44So, little.
26:44Okay.
26:47Mmm.
26:53Mmm.
26:57Mmm.
27:00Mmm.
27:00It's really special.
27:03It's really special.
27:04here the noodle the taste is like you're eating you're eating the river yeah because it's like
27:17very fresh and yeah you can you can taste the snail a lot
27:29yeah not not everyone it has a very acquired taste you know like like some people like durian some
27:36people don't like durian so this one also has an acquired taste like you are eating very fresh
27:44like a river river animal so i can taste the freshness i'm someone that is from someone that
27:58is very adventurous so this is not too difficult for me this is very easy for me but there are
28:02some
28:02people like let's say there's some people who don't like to try new things they like to stick
28:08to mcdonald's and all those then this one will not be suitable for them it's really good
28:13okay let me try like a much bigger
28:19bong ob noi noi it is bong ob noi noi it is cooling cool
28:43so the soup is slightly sour it's more of like refreshing kind of sour rather than the acidic sour
28:58so i'm really eating this the Vietnamese way
29:06this was so good i ordered extra so this is my second bowl yummy so kelia asked for some fried
29:15shallots because
29:16we saw another customer order this with fried shallots so we ordered it is uh kelia's second bowl
29:23and we are also trying out now with fried shallots let's see what what's the difference
29:32um
29:44um
29:50It's too.
29:50I like it. It's too, it's better.
29:59It's so good.
30:02It's so good.
30:03Very good.
30:04I'm so good.
30:05You're gonna smell some food.
30:09I like it.
30:11Mmm.
30:11Mmm, mmm, mmm, mmm, wow.
30:19It's delicious.
30:20It's delicious.
30:45Ahh, so good.
30:49Fingers you can go.
31:03Feeling soulful and satisfied, we headed back to our hotel for a quick nap to drop off some souvenirs we
31:09picked up along the way.
31:10After that, the plan for the night? More eating of course.
31:16We headed out to explore some traditional desserts too, so stay tuned.
31:24Okay, we can cross the road right now.
31:26The road is much more empty at this time.
31:29And today is Tuesday.
31:32We are going to Ok Nong Ngahak, which is just over here.
31:37To eat, like, clams.
31:39And I can do the food.
31:41Yeah.
31:43And this part is slightly, uh, slightly outside of the old...
31:51The old...
31:53Old...
31:53Water.
31:54Yeah.
31:56We're having clams right now.
31:58And also fermented pork and some snails at Ok Nong Ngahak.
32:03Ok Nong Ngahak.
32:03Ok Nong Ngahak.
32:04Ok.
32:05Let's see.
32:06This is very fresh.
32:08Put some chili sauce over here.
32:17So sweet and so fresh.
32:20It's good stuff.
32:22And this is the fermented pork.
32:23Fried fermented pork.
32:24Mmm.
32:26Let's try it for the first time.
32:30This one.
32:32This one.
32:33Or this.
32:37First taste test.
32:39Fermented pork.
32:51Mmm.
32:56It's extremely tender.
32:59It's extremely tender.
32:59The flavor is, like, first thing.
33:03Especially with the chili sauce.
33:07Let me bite half of it and see, like, what's inside.
33:13Because the flavor is really complex due to the fermentation.
33:27It's very difficult to explain.
33:29The taste.
33:30The texture is really soft.
33:34It's chewy, bouncy at the same time.
33:37Like, you know, a little bit like fish ball.
33:42But the taste is way more complex.
33:48It's like, I can taste the...
33:51It's like, in Chinese we have this thing called nam yu.
33:54So it has that kind of taste as well.
33:59A little bit like our nam yu pai guan.
34:04I like it.
34:05It's really, really good.
34:06Especially with the sauce.
34:11Our snail dish is already here.
34:13As you can see here, Vietnamese really take their sweet food game to the next level.
34:19So this is the sauce for the snail.
34:23Inside there's lime leaves.
34:24There is lemongrass.
34:26There is a little bit of...
34:28I think this is ginger.
34:31Yeah, there's ginger.
34:32There's chili.
34:33And lime.
34:35And fish sauce.
34:38So, it's so complex.
34:40And this is only for the snail.
34:43Yeah.
34:44It's a metal nail.
34:46Yeah.
34:47So...
34:47Oh!
34:47We are using this metal piece to pierce out the snail.
34:50So this is so complex.
34:52And the snail is really hot.
35:06Especially...
35:08It's sweet.
35:10The lime leaf makes it...
35:12Like...
35:12Yeah.
35:15Mmm.
35:16Wow.
35:17So complex.
35:19Especially...
35:19That is sweet.
35:20The lime leaf makes it like...
35:23Which does the taste really stand out?
35:26I like the...
35:27I enjoy.
35:30Yeah.
35:31Okay.
35:32The best part is the head.
35:34But I kinda like the tails.
35:42I took some of the soup.
35:46I see the lady was taking it out so easily.
35:50I don't know why I'm struggling over here.
36:01I feel very bad because I couldn't take out the tail.
36:10I have to eat one with the tail.
36:15Let's...
36:15Let's up our game.
36:19Okay.
36:21I'm gonna...
36:22Turn the other side now.
36:24So I'm gonna...
36:25So right now...
36:27Oh...
36:29Oh...
36:34Ah...
36:35Ah...
36:35Ah...
36:36Ah...
36:37Ah...
36:37Ah...
36:37Ah...
36:37Ah...
36:38Ah...
36:42Ah...
36:47Ah...
36:48For me, it's slightly easier with the...
36:50The fork because the fork has three...
36:53You see?
36:55It's like...
36:55So what I did is...
36:56I...
36:56I poke it, and then I twist...
36:59Uh...
36:59Ah...
37:00Ah...
37:00Ah...
37:00Ah...
37:00Ah...
37:07Ah...
37:08I realized one of the ways to eat it, is when I poke it using the back of the fork
37:15rather
37:15than the front I just, so I'm still experimenting, can you see, I just,
37:54so the clam soup has some, the clam soup has some pineapples in it, it's really nice.
38:10Now let me try, let me try using another tool, I know, yeah, yeah but, you see, I am beyond
38:32research.
38:39This is the traditional way, you can do this traditional way, that's when you have a chain.
38:52You order another bowl of lalak, this is so huge, can you see this?
39:05It goes so well with the soup.
39:21It's divine.
39:26Now we have our assorted snail, big and small.
39:39One thing about this small snail, it has something that not everyone may like it, like when I
39:45eat it, I feel some crunch.
39:48So according to Kelly, it is actually the egg pouch of the snail.
39:53So it's like, I eat it, I'm eating like other snails within the snail as well.
39:57So it has some crunch to it, which I find like, mmm, gelly.
40:15So these are like some baby snail, even though this restaurant is in a very small valley, but
40:24it is so busy.
40:28As long, as soon as one table finishes, another table will be filled.
40:35So it's simply amazing.
40:37Like the local people, they all know this place already.
40:40It's just that maybe some tourists, they don't really know the place yet.
40:44But local people definitely, they frequent this place a lot.
40:47So the turnover is really, really high.
40:50When someone goes out, someone will come in.
40:53Always full.
40:56So we have so much, so much more than typical people would order.
41:01So that's why it kind of confused the owner as well.
41:04Like it was very difficult for her to count how much we owe them.
41:10So this is the place.
41:11You see so many people, even outside there's some seatings.
41:14People are sitting outside as well.
41:16The kitchen is just over here.
41:17Ah, the kitchen is just over here.
41:19Simple and nice.
41:24Wow, look at the cat.
41:28He hear you but...
41:30Meow.
41:31He hear me but he pretends that he's not seeing me.
41:35He's ignoring me.
41:35Yeah, he's ignoring me.
41:36So quite full eh.
41:38Yeah.
41:40So we just finished our clam and our snail in the restaurant earlier.
41:45And now we are walking towards our dessert soup.
41:49So I'm gonna tell you guys a little bit about my experience of the difference between the snail and the
41:57clam of the southern and the northern.
42:01So...
42:03Okay.
42:04Am I still in frame?
42:06Okay.
42:07So in the northern, what I think is that they are more emphasized on simplicity.
42:14Like the taste is much more mellow.
42:19It's much more simple.
42:28The taste is much more simple.
42:30It's less intense compared to the southern.
42:35The southern, they put a lot of flavors in there.
42:39A lot of ingredients.
42:42So it really depends on what an individual likes.
42:46Some people like it like simple and plain.
42:51Some people like it much more intense.
42:53So if you prefer the snail and the clams that are much more intense, then the southern one will be
43:00good.
43:01And if you prefer something that is simple, then the northern one will be for you.
43:05I like both of them.
43:08Over there.
43:11Now that I've traveled both to Hanoi, which is the northern area, like Hanoi Sapa, and I've also tried things
43:19in the central, you know, like more central and more southern, like Nia Trang, Dalat, and Ho Chi Minh.
43:27Yeah, I can taste the difference between the taste that people like.
43:34As we are walking on the street in Hanoi, you will actually see tourists from all over the world.
43:41Because Hanoi really attracts people from all facades of life, like all types of people, all different races.
43:53Yeah, so this place is really like a melting pot.
43:56So we would be thinking that, oh yeah, Vietnamese, the majority of Vietnamese speaks only Vietnamese.
44:03And there will be also some people, the younger people especially, that speak English.
44:08But still, people just keep coming.
44:13Yeah, it is a really vibrant city for tourists.
44:19So you see there's a lot of bikes here.
44:22Motorbikes are like the main mode of transportation for a lot of Vietnamese.
44:27You can see, like, they are parked almost in the entire side of the street.
44:37And when we are walking on the road, the bikes are like walking with us.
44:43You know, they know how to avoid us if they go faster.
44:48Yeah, so even though it can be quite, cause a little bit of anxiety.
44:55But in actual fact, they are quite safe.
44:58Yeah.
45:00So if you are already used to it, if you are already used to walking on the streets of Vietnam,
45:07then yeah, you are not afraid of bikes anymore.
45:15Where?
45:15Meow.
45:16Yeah, so true.
45:18Hello, say goodbye.
45:20Yeah.
45:22Okay.
45:23It looks like a lion.
45:27Here, there are a lot of restaurants.
45:29I mean, a lot of shops that are selling souvenirs and shirts, spa massages.
45:37Yeah, mostly souvenirs, restaurants.
45:48Spa.
45:55Okay.
45:57Cross.
46:01We are here.
46:04We are here.
46:05We are here.
46:21So we have two desserts that we ordered over here.
46:25One is the purple rice yogurt.
46:27Yeah, this is very refreshing.
46:29Very nice.
46:29Vietnamese people love this a lot because it's like a purple glutinous rice.
46:34And then another is like a grass jelly with the lotus seeds.
46:40And then basically, it's a very sweet kind of soup.
46:47A jay.
46:48Yeah, let's try it.
46:54Very refreshing.
46:58Very nice.
47:00The grass jelly goes very well with the lotus seed.
47:04And the sweetness is just right.
47:06It's not too sweet.
47:09And then there are some jelly inside as well.
47:12I cannot really describe but it's this jelly.
47:17And another type of jelly.
47:30It's a purple glutinous rice.
47:35It's nice with yogurt.
47:38It's nice.
47:41It's nice.
47:41The Vietnamese yogurt is very mild and sweet.
47:47It's not like the super sour type but it's very easy to eat.
47:54It goes extremely well with the glutinous rice.
48:05There's ice underneath.
48:07Mmm.
48:10Super good.
48:13So I've just finished my first dessert.
48:18And because I want to try so many things over here, so I ordered the assorted.
48:22Which is like, it has a little bit of everything.
48:26And so that I can try out different things in this shop.
48:30So in those days, before all the milk tea and all the commercialized things come into Vietnam,
48:38those people who were born before the 90s, they actually eat.
48:43Oh, so this is the assorted.
48:48So those people who were born before the 90s and those people who are, yeah, having my generation.
48:58They, so these were their like desserts.
49:02Like, you know, like how people today, we drink soda, we have milk tea.
49:07So those days, things like this, desserts like this were the thing they, they, the Vietnamese made all this from
49:16natural ingredients.
49:18So they are much healthier.
49:21And at the same time, when we are eating this over here, for the people who are like older and
49:30eating over here,
49:31it brings back a lot of nostalgic feeling to them.
49:35Let's try this.
49:39Let me try it myself.
49:40Really little bit of everything.
49:42I can try, taste the red bean.
49:45Red bean and green bean.
49:51Guas jelly.
50:10In Chinese, we call Wu Tao, but I forgotten the, the name of it, but it's a root vegetable.
50:16So there are some other beans as well, you see this.
50:19These are kidney beans.
50:22Red bean.
50:25Jelly.
50:27Jelly.
50:28Jelly also made from natural ingredients.
50:30It's a mixture of a few different items.
50:43Yeah.
50:44This is a really good blend of ingredients.
50:48There are so many things in here.
50:56The burst of flavor.
51:02I still like the, the, the purple rice better.
51:07Thanks so much.
51:08You eat?
51:13No.
51:26Good stuff.
51:34So this shop has been here, this shop has been in business since 1975.
51:52We just finished our dessert at Jae Bun Mo over here, you see they're so big
51:58They even opened another shop opposite, with upstairs as well, so beautiful.
52:06So now we're just gonna walk back to our hotel and wind down, chill and watch like a movie.
52:13I'll see you guys tomorrow.
52:32I'll see you guys next time.
52:39Bye.
52:41Bye.
52:43Bye.
52:44Bye.
52:46Bye.
52:48Bye.
52:48Bye.
52:49Bye.
52:50Bye.
52:52Bye.
