00:03Hey, it's People in 10. Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce's wedding is almost a week away.
00:08Maybe. If you believe the rumors, they're timed or not next Friday in New York City. And they do
00:14seem to have kicked things off with the usual his and hers festivities. The Rhode Island sky
00:18lit up with fireworks as it was reported that Tay was celebrating her bachelorette party at
00:24her mansion on the coast. All while Travis was out and about in West Hollywood and San Diego
00:29for some bachelor shenanigans with his buds. His brother Jason and Taylor's brother Austin were
00:33also said to be there. Cute! And even more cute, Taylor doing a surprise performance with Laney
00:39Wilson to support her man's tight end university event Tuesday night.
00:50No cruel summer for these two. The countdown is on.
00:55There's a wild theory going viral by Anne Hathaway and her husband.
00:58And I want to know, is it to be or not to be? Let's find out.
01:04Hi Mako, how goes it?
01:06Hey Topher, it's going good. All right, so now what is this Anne Hathaway,
01:10William Shakespeare connection?
01:11Okay, where do I even start? Because this is a wild one.
01:14Okay, so this is one that's been going on for years and it all starts with William Shakespeare,
01:18arguably the most famous author of all time, having a wife named Anne Hathaway.
01:23Now, Anne Hathaway, the actress's husband's name is Adam Schulman, but the internet has always thought
01:28he looks exactly like William Shakespeare. So they've always been wondering, is this some sort
01:33of reincarnation going on here?
01:35Wait a minute, that is too wild. But you know what? I do see the resemblance.
01:40It's sort of crazy. And once you see it, you can't unsee it. But the fire was fueled even more
01:44when
01:45Anne Hathaway got in on the theory while she was promoting the Devil Wears Prada too.
01:49What was life like in the 90s?
01:50Wait, the 1590s?
01:54Give up forever to touch you, cause I know that you-
01:59Um, it was intense.
02:03I love it. Okay, so we've set the scene, but if this has been going on for years,
02:07why is it coming back up now?
02:09So it all got resurfaced because Anne and her husband Adam are now expecting their third child,
02:14which they just announced. And William Shakespeare and his Anne Hathaway had how many children?
02:19I'm going to give you one guess.
02:20Three?
02:22It was absolutely three. So now everything feels too crazy, too aligned. So I don't know.
02:27Like, you tell me what's happening here.
02:29I think it's too funny. I'm on the fence. I do love a wild theory. What about you?
02:35I mean, I absolutely do. It's just fun. You know, you got Anne Hathaway's having fun with it,
02:39so why can't we?
02:40I mean, why can't we? All right, friend, I'll talk to you later.
02:43Talk to you later. Bye-bye.
02:46Savannah Guthrie isn't letting anyone forget the search for her mom,
02:50as new details in her case became public this week.
02:53I can't pretend I'm not here. And so since I am, I wanted to just take the opportunity to
02:58to ask people to really to beg people to come forward. Somebody knows something.
03:02She was at the news desk on Tuesday when Craig Melvin shared info about a second ransom note.
03:07We first learned the note existed in February, but now we know what it said. According to NBC News,
03:13the sender revealed the 84-year-old died shortly after her abduction. And the message reportedly
03:18expressed regret over her death. This is the life that my sister lives, that I live, that my brother
03:23lives, that our extended families live, that our children live every day. And we are in agony.
03:29There was also a first ransom letter, which reportedly demanded millions of dollars of
03:34Bitcoin in exchange for Nancy's return. This second one, no request for payment. Now,
03:40four months later, there's still so many unanswered questions.
03:43We love our mom and we'll never stop looking for her.
03:46And the internet is giving Simone Biles a reason to clap back. So she recently revealed she survived
03:51a near fatal medical emergency. Scary. And now she's been spending time recovering on a trip to Belize
03:57with her hubby. But not everyone's happy about it. One commenter even mocked her for posting
04:01vacation photos after saying she almost died. And Simone is not having it. She called the comments sad
04:07and said the trip has been part of her healing process. She also reminded people that life-changing
04:11experiences can shift your perspective. In other words, she's alive, so she's gonna live. And her haters
04:17can deal with that. And while Prince William was hard at work this week, he got a little help from
04:23his
04:23friends. Benedict Cumberbatch and Emma Watson are rare parents from her. But she's known for her
04:28activism and spoke about the importance of storytelling, especially for young people.
04:33Storytelling is really powerful when the way that you talk around these issues, it matters.
04:37As for Benedict, he shared a message of hope for the future.
04:40It's time to make some positive noise to believe that you can have agency.
04:47Later, William kept to the theme of the week by linking up with Robert Irwin and hopping aboard a
04:51bright green double-decker bus to celebrate the Earthshot Prize's latest crop of environmental
04:55champions. It's cool when environmentalism also translates to benefiting people.
05:01The BET Awards haven't even started yet. And the lineup is already ridiculous. You've got Cardi B,
05:08Dochi, Queen Latifah, Thames, Kehlani, Jill Scott, Rick Ross, Tia, Common. And that's just the first
05:17wave. And if performing wasn't enough, Cardi also leads the entire field with six nominations,
05:22while Kendrick Lamar and Mariah the Scientist are right behind her with five each. Dochi's got four
05:28of her own. And oh yeah, Queen Latifah has been teasing new music, so don't be surprised if she
05:33has a few tricks up her sleeve. June 28th, clear your schedule. The Legally Blonde family is passing the
05:41pink baton. What, like it's hard? The original cast, including Reese Witherspoon, Selma Blair,
05:46and Jennifer Coolidge, gathered in New York to celebrate the 25th anniversary and its upcoming
05:50prequel, Elle. Feeling very blonde. There's another one. Mom, her roots. Yeah, I hope it's a choice.
05:59At one point, Reese got emotional over the movie's impact and called playing Elle Woods the privilege
06:04of her life because of how the character has helped others overcome their own challenges.
06:08I'll show you how valuable Elle Woods can be. And it was like no time had passed at the show's
06:13official premiere. Reese rocked her signature color alongside her supportive son, Deacon,
06:17who was definitely channeling dad Ryan Phillippe from way back at the film's premiere. Here's hoping
06:23the prequel continues the legacy. Conner's story may be new to the scene, but his seat of Paris fashion
06:29week was anything but beginner level. The heat of rivalry star set front row at St. Laurent right
06:35between Madonna and Kate Moss. Casual. Kinda beat the heat in a black tank, while Madonna brought the
06:40drama in a red lace look. And Kate kept it very Kate, casual, cool, and completely unbothered. Rounding
06:48out the row with Debbie Mazar, Charli XCX, Rami Malek, Joe Alwyn, Daisy Edgar Jones, and Austin Butler.
06:54So while the runway was important, the guest list? Absolutely a show of its own.
07:02Everyone's shipping Kiki Palmer and Hot One's host Sean Evans. And now, Kiki's weighing in. After
07:07the two were spotted having dinner together, the internet was on fire, wanting this thing to just
07:12happen already. And I mean, they do have chemistry. You're obviously very charismatic, you're smart,
07:19you're beautiful. It's a little hot. It ain't taking me nowhere for real.
07:28Wow. Maybe we could just have a quick smooch to see if there's a spark.
07:32Yeah, let's do it. Let's do it.
07:43Well, Kiki told Jay Shetty during a panel at Cannes that she and Sean are, and I quote,
07:48hanging out. You know what I mean? She also admitted that you never know what can arise from there.
07:53So they're just taking it day by day, one wing at a time, so to speak. Love that for her.
07:59Now, it's a sit down with Scott Eastwood. Hi, Scott. Your new movie, Lucky Strike,
08:03hits theaters everywhere tomorrow. On a scale of one to 10, how nervous are you when a project
08:08is being released and you're the star? I'm not really nervous, but I'm like,
08:12you know, you kind of hope it does like well. There's so many elements, right? What's happening
08:18in the world? What time it is? What other movies it's going up against? Is it getting a ton of
08:24money
08:24by a studio? You know, there's like so many elements to make something become successful.
08:31You just kind of got to let the universe do what it does.
08:35This film takes place during World War II. So walk us through your research process.
08:39What makes it click the most for you when you need to feel that personal connection to a character
08:43or a time period? This movie in particular is different in the sense that one, it's a true story.
08:50Two, I had also done in Flags Our Fathers, I had done Fury with Brad Pitt and David Ayer.
08:57Now I've done Lucky Strike. So I was, I'm very well versed in the world, the time, the research.
09:07And this character wasn't, he wasn't a rookie. You know, he was, he had been there, done that,
09:12he had done other tours. So it was kind of like I had just carried those lived experiences,
09:18making those other movies into this movie. Colin Hanks is also in this movie. So we gotta ask,
09:24did any famous dads visit set? There were none.
09:28None. I imagine they were probably shooting their own movies. It's better that way. I don't want that.
09:34I don't want Tom Hanks showing up. I don't want that kind of pressure.
09:39That's my mission. You know, the business in itself,
09:42I think is kind of sort of, it doesn't matter really who you are. It just matters. Can you do
09:47the job? Do people like you? Do people like working with you? And then there's a certain
09:52amount of luck and like sort of lightening your writing, um, to get from job to job, really.
10:00You've been acting for two decades now. I'm so curious what your perspective was like back then
10:05compared to now. The way I look at the business now, I mean, I'm much more pragmatic. I think when
10:11I
10:11was younger, I used to think, you know, you had to endure more pain to get a performance across.
10:18And now I just think you just, you know, you just do the work and prep it as best you
10:22can. Then you
10:23go out and have fun and you try to enjoy these experiences you have. And hopefully, uh, at the
10:28same time, you try to, you know, make sure everybody else on set's having a good time as well.
10:33To wrap up, we're going to put 10 seconds on the clock. Tell everyone why they should check out
10:37Lucky Strike. Ready? Go. You got to see this one in theaters. World War II. How many more are we
10:44going to make?
