00:00Tiffany Boone is addressing her 2018 exit from Showtime's The Shy following her
00:05sexual misconduct claims against her then-co-star Jason Mitchell.
00:09Boone opened up on her Instagram account further explaining her decision to leave the
00:13series saying she deeply loved Chicago and felt honored and privileged to be a part of
00:18telling their story and adding,
00:23But she continues,
00:30Following Boone's accusations, which came alongside similar allegations from The Shy
00:34showrunner Ayanna Floyd Davis against Mitchell, the actor was subsequently fired from the
00:39series. He was also let go from his job at Netflix's Desperados and was also dropped by
00:44his management, lawyer and agent. Boone left The Shy in its second season. She had
00:49previously expressed concerns about Mitchell's behavior to HR and to high-level
00:53producers during season one, but she says nothing was ever done to rectify the situation.
00:57She explains in part,
01:13Boone described her decision to leave The Shy, quote,
01:15a risk, especially being unsure if she would work on a project of that magnitude again,
01:20saying in part,
01:20I wasn't sure but I had faith that once I took that leap I could be guided wherever I was
01:25supposed to go. And that risk ultimately paid off. The actress now stars in Jordan Peele's
01:30Amazon show Hunters and the Hulu miniseries Little Fires Everywhere.
