00:00Oh, OK.
00:02Karishma, West Indies have outdid themselves, some would say,
00:07in the first three games of this ICC T20 World Cup.
00:10What has been the magic that has occurred that caused West Indies
00:13to create three straight victories when some were not expecting it?
00:18Yeah, look, I think, I don't know, we just show up for these type of tournaments
00:23and I feel like, you know, the girls understand the assignment
00:28and we've, you know, as a group collectively put our hands up in different times.
00:32We have different players showing up for us and that's really important for us as a group.
00:37So, you know, as you said, the magic is just finding a way
00:40and we've tried to do that and we've done that so far.
00:44Obviously, this encounter on Wednesday will be the toughest test of all.
00:48England have really played extremely well so far in the tournament.
00:52The team looking forward to the contest and the 17,000 fans that we understand
00:56are going to be present?
00:57Yeah, of course.
00:59You know, it's going to be a really big game.
01:01I think, you know, what we can do is control what we can do as a team.
01:06Plan well, prepare well and, you know, just on the day execute as best as we can.
01:11But, of course, we're looking forward to, you know, the atmosphere, playing at Lords.
01:15It's going to be a huge thing for the West Indies women.
01:17How have you found the conditions, the various venues that you've played so far
01:22and now you've come down to London?
01:24I think, you know, we've played here before a couple of times.
01:28Of course, first time for some of the girls at Lords.
01:30So we'll have a, you know, run out at the pitches now and, you know,
01:35decide on what our combinations would be and, you know,
01:38how we think the pitches would play there.
01:40But for the show, I think it's been very conducive to, you know,
01:45the type of players we have and we've been able to find ways to use that to our abilities.
01:50So, you know, I'm just looking forward to putting up a show again on Wednesday
01:56and we're just going to, you know, give our best.
01:59Who would you prefer to play in the semifinals if you had a choice?
02:03India, Australia or South Africa?
02:08Look, on the day it's another game of cricket.
02:11And whoever turns up, we're going to turn up as well.
02:15Have you enjoyed maybe before the tournament not being a team that many had predicted
02:21to make such a strong start?
02:23Have you guys enjoyed maybe being a little bit under the radar coming into this tournament?
02:28I don't think we have thought of it much.
02:30But I feel like, as I said, it's a tournament that we actually show up in.
02:35We've done it previously.
02:36And I think, you know, three out of three right now, I'm sure a lot of people wouldn't have thought
02:41that we would be here today.
02:43But the fact that we're finding a way, and as I mentioned before, finding a way is a big thing
02:47for us.
02:49That's really, really important for us as a group.
02:51And it's, you know, I feel like the bond that we've created throughout, you know, winning.
02:56And winning is something that, of course, brings positivity and a different type of change room.
03:01I think for us, that's most important.
03:04Has there been much conversation about that 2016 team that won?
03:08I know you came into the group a little bit after that.
03:11But for some of the members that were here, is there a feeling that there might be something special in
03:16the group
03:16like there was 10 years ago?
03:18Yeah, of course.
03:18There's a small chat around the change room.
03:21You know, it's 10 years later.
03:24And superstitiously, I think it's no better place to do it right now.
03:31And, of course, at Lourdes, at the home of cricket, it will be an amazing feeling for the group.
03:36But for now, yeah, of course, it's a thought behind our heads.
03:39And we're looking forward to putting up a show for that.
03:42You talked about a lot of the players stepping up at different parts of the competition thus far.
03:47In the last match, you had probably your best match of the tournament.
03:50So how satisfying was it for you to find that rhythm
03:54and then coming up against a really strong opposition like England tomorrow?
03:57Yeah, look, I'm someone who really, you know, marked myself very hard.
04:03And I still feel that my best game is yet to come.
04:06So, of course, coming up with a tough opponent, I feel like, you know, all of us would have to
04:11be on our A games.
04:13And we're just looking forward to the challenge that is coming forward.
04:18Is everyone fit for tomorrow's game?
04:21As much as I know, I believe so.
04:24But it's not in my knowledge that anyone else or anyone is unfit.
04:30And finally, from me, how have you found the tournament?
04:34The 12 teams, 12 teams in a tournament.
04:38How have you found it?
04:39And what's been the competition like?
04:41Because, I mean, it's been fairly competitive.
04:43I mean, just one or two teams probably not up to the mark.
04:46But have you found it to be extremely competitive?
04:48Yeah, I think coming into the tournament, some of the teams have really put their hands up.
04:52And I must, you know, credit Scotland for the way that they played against us as well.
04:57No team is easy.
04:58We're not taking any team for granted.
05:01But I think it has definitely exceeded our expectations this year.
05:06Actually, one more.
05:08There was that match against New Zealand where you guys won in really tight circumstances.
05:14How, I suppose, how much of a boost is it knowing that you guys have had the, I suppose, the
05:20calm,
05:21the level of calm in really tricky situations?
05:24And knowing that you've got that in the back of your head when you come up against some other strong
05:30teams,
05:30knowing that you're able to pull through in close situations?
05:33Yeah, and again, that's where I'd come back to say now we are finding a way.
05:37And it's coming from not just the Hayley Matthews and the DeAndre Duttons and Stephanie Taylors.
05:42It's coming from players that, you know, are really putting their hands up.
05:46Really, really proud to say that we are not, you know, expecting to go down with just without a fight.
05:55And that's what's really important for us as a team.
05:57I feel like once we could, you know, find a way to win, which we are doing,
06:02that's all we can expect and be happy for.
