00:00Kim Kardashian West has renamed her controversial Kimono shapewear line.
00:05The reality star turned business mogul is now rebranding her line to be called
00:09Skims Solutionwear. She took to social media to announce the news saying that she's
00:13always taking feedback from fans and followers and after some thought and
00:17consideration she decided a name change was best. Kardashian West was heavily
00:21criticized for naming the shapewear Kimono when many found her name choice to be
00:25cultural appropriation since Kimono is the same word for an ancient Japanese style
00:29of dressing. The star spoke to The Wall Street Journal magazine back in July saying
00:33that her intentions in naming the brand was to play off her name. She explained that the
00:37naming process behind Kimono was innocent and she did not anticipate the level of
00:41backlash she received. Skims will be launching September 10th and includes
00:45smoothing, lifting and sculpting undergarments that are color and size inclusive
