00:03From the adorable videos to the memes, it's safe to say that Baby Yoda has taken the internet by storm.
00:08But The Mandalorian director Bryce Dallas Howard says it's been an agonizing year for her family,
00:13as she had to make sure her young kids kept a lid on the Baby Yoda secret.
00:18The actress and director told The Hollywood Reporter,
00:30When the kids went back to school, every single day I would say,
00:33So what are you not going to talk about today?
00:36And they would say, Baby. I'd be like, that's right.
00:43It's not a toy.
00:47While Howard's kids actually got to meet Baby Yoda, the rest of us are just hoping for a stuffed Baby
00:52Yoda.
00:53However, Howard said with a laugh,
00:55Everyone is super pissed that there's no merch. Everyone is like, I want a Baby Yoda stuffed toy.
01:00But I think they made a good choice in not focusing there and just focusing on the storytelling.
01:04Howard also revealed this interesting tidbit about working with the Baby Yoda puppet.
01:08Early on, I got to be a part of the mini-test where our mission was to push what the
01:12puppet could do,
01:13to see what was possible, because we wanted to use the puppet as much as possible rather than relying on
01:18CG.
01:19So it was something that was really so full of wonder, adventure, and discovery.
