00:00Breaking news in the college admissions scandal, Felicity Huffman was sentenced to 14 days
00:04in prison Friday afternoon in a Boston federal court ā for her part in the controversy
00:08that rocked the nation earlier this year. According to courtroom reporters, she was also
00:12fined $30,000 and given a year of supervised release and 250 hours of community service.
00:19Huffman was not remanded into custody. Instead, she was ordered to self-report to prison in
00:23six weeks on October 25. In a post-hearing statement, Huffman said in part,
00:37The Oscar-nominated actress pleaded guilty back in May to conspiracy to commit mail fraud
00:41and honest services mail fraud. Huffman, along with 49 other parents, coaches and administrators,
00:46including actress Lori Loughlin, was arrested on March 12. As you may recall, Huffman was accused
00:51of disguising a $15,000 charitable payment in the bribery scheme in order for someone to take
00:56her daughter's SAT exam. As for Loughlin, she and her husband face more serious charges and have
