00:02Germany's entire railway network came to a halt on Tuesday due to a problem with a
00:06communication system. The disruption left thousands of passengers stranded across the country.
00:12Trains were held at stations while travelers stood in long lines at information desks as
00:17they tried to figure out how to get to their next destinations.
00:22We came here and as soon as we came we saw a bunch of unhappy faces and all of us
00:26speaking
00:27English and on the sign it said something completely in Deutsch.
00:31No information they are just saying like oh please you have to wait wait wait wait wait wait but we
00:39are still here waiting.
00:41After nearly two and a half hours after it first reported the outage the main national
00:46railway operator Deutschaban said the problem had been resolved. The company said there had been a
00:51nationwide problem with its communication system which is used for internal communication on the
00:56railway network. As compensation, Deutschaban said during the outage that it was giving taxi and hotel vouchers to passengers.
