The longtime fixture on the music competition is the last of show's principals to sign a deal for the upcoming season on ABC.

00:06Seacrest in. Ryan Seacrest is set to return for American Idol's third season on ABC.
00:11The host has signed a new deal to continue on the show, which he's hosted for the past 17 seasons,
00:16the first 15 of them on Fox. Seacrest joins returning judges Katy Perry, Lionel Richie,
00:21and Luke Bryan, who closed their deals in August. Bobby Bones is also set to return
00:25as Idol's in-house mentor. ABC Entertainment president Kerry Burke said,
00:28We are delighted that our entire Idol dream team will be returning for the upcoming season on ABC.
00:33And Seacrest said,
00:34American Idol has been my home for 17 seasons, and I can't wait to return to the stage.
00:38It's the greatest gift to be able to play a part in discovering new talent with a franchise
00:42that has been such a relevant part of American culture for so many years.
00:46We're going to make out when I get my golden ticket.
00:49I think it's against the rules.
00:50Now, being the busy man that he is, Seacrest will continue to shuttle between Idol's home in L.A.
00:54and New York, where he co-hosts and executive produces Live with Kelly and Ryan.
00:58Idol's audition tour for next season wraps up Saturday in Chicago.
01:02The show is set to return to ABC in early 2020.
