00:05Here we go. We are with the legendary Christopher Plummer. I can't think of how many movies of yours I
00:12have seen at Toronto over the years. I remember Barrymore. I remember, I think, was Beginners here. Just so many
00:19great movies. What brings you here this year?
00:21Well, I'm here to do a couple of things. Because now that Toronto is so busy in the international world,
00:29thank God for dear old Dusty Cole and his pals who made this festival possible.
00:38Now it's got a distinguished international reputation. So I came up to do, of course, Knives Out, which I admire
00:48tremendously because Brian Johnson is such a wonderful writer as well as a director.
00:54And there was something very original about his kind of dialogue, which made me fascinated. And so I was thrilled
01:03to do it. And I think it worked out. I thought that audience reaction tonight was incredible.
01:08Congratulations. I think we also, I may be mistaken, but do we hear your voice before every screening here?
01:16Yes, I didn't know who the hell that was.
01:18Because you're Canadian, right? And you're talking about how many great things were made in Canada.
01:24Yes, I didn't really, didn't recognize it. It sounded like me. And of course I recorded. I'd forgotten I'd recorded.
01:31So, you know everybody, I think, or they certainly know you. If you were to be stuck in an elevator
01:37here with one other person who you've heard is in town at this festival this year, a lot of great
01:42options. Who would you like that to be?
01:44Well, apart from my wife, I think that Marta, our beautiful lady, who is such a good actress, as well
01:55as a beauty, is in our film.
01:58And I think, yes, that would be very pleasant.
02:00You're going to get points for those answers. So thank you for coming. Congratulations.
02:04Congratulations.
