00:07Following fan outcry over Sonic the Hedgehog's character design, the movie has
00:11been pushed back. Director Jeff Fowler said on Friday that the film will now
00:15open on February 14, 2020, a delay of three months from its original November
00:208, 2019 date. The director tweeted, taking a little more time to make Sonic
00:25just right. The move comes after the release of the film's trailer in April
00:28and much of the internet reacted like this.
00:34The look of the classic video game character in the trailer was
00:37widely criticized online. This prompted Fowler and his team to rethink Sonic's
00:41character design to make him the best he can be. Ben Schwartz voices Sonic while
00:45James Marsden and Jim Carrey also star in live-action roles.
