Perikatan Nasional has admitted Parti Cinta Malaysia (Wawasan) and Parti Pejuang Tanah Air into its coalition, ahead of the Johor and Negri Sembilan state elections.

The decision was made at an emergency meeting on Monday (June 22) night chaired by Perikatan chairman Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, with Bersatu president Muhyiddin Yassin among those present.

00:01Perikatan National has formally admitted two new parties into its coalition,
00:06Parti Cinta Malaysia, also known as Wawasan, and Parti Pejuang Tanah Aya, or Pejuang.
00:12The decision was made during a two-hour emergency meeting on Monday night,
00:16ahead of the Johor and Negeri Sembilan state elections.
00:20Bersatu President Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin was among those present at the meeting,
00:24alongside Bersatu, Vice President Datuk Seri Ahmad Faizal Azumu.
00:30Perikatan Chairman Datuk Seri Dr. Ahmad Samsuri Mokhtar, known as Dr. Sam,
00:34chaired the meeting at the PAS headquarters.
00:36He described the session as smooth and harmonious,
00:39saying members were given the opportunity to raise differing views before reaching agreement.
00:44But despite Muhyiddin's attendance,
00:46the long-running question of Bersatu's own status within the coalition was not raised.
00:57Seat allocations and candidates for both the Johor and Negeri Sembilan polls
01:00will be discussed at a follow-up meeting on Tuesday.
01:04Dr. Sam said he hopes the matter will be settled before nomination day for the Johor election on Saturday.
