00:00How was your week? You were away, right?
00:02It was good. I mean, it was pretty uneventful.
00:04It was in Outer Banks from Sunday to Sunday.
00:07Got back last night around 4, 4.30.
00:10And then it's just always a matter of...
00:13Scrambling?
00:14Yeah, just all the laundry you got to do and all the organizing
00:18if you want to get back in the swing of things.
00:20You kind of got that.
00:21You need a buffer day.
00:23You need to come back on a Saturday instead of Sunday.
00:25That's a rookie move, JP.
00:26You've been in this game long enough.
00:28You should know that.
00:28Well, it was a buffer commute.
00:30It was a buffer commute.
00:32It was a nice long ride back.
00:34Sure.
00:35I mean, we left at 9, and I think we landed around 4.
00:39So that's a long, long time.
00:42Now, we took a long stop at one of the world's worst serviced McDonald's.
00:48They had no urgency at this McDonald's.
00:52It was a stop halfway through.
00:54Went inside because I had to use the bathroom.
00:55By the way, I had to destroy the bathroom.
00:58Oh, no.
00:58It was one of those stops.
01:00At a McDonald's off the interstate?
01:02You know what?
01:02It was pretty clean.
01:03It was pretty clean sometimes.
01:05I would never.
01:06You have to.
01:07I had to do that yesterday at the dive meet.
01:09Right.
01:10Middle of the dive meet, between dives.
01:12It happens.
01:13I might miss the N-word, but I got to get in there.
01:15It's a lot.
01:16It was an emergency.
01:17There's a lot going on there.
01:18Yeah.
01:18Yeah.
01:18So that was an extended trip, and then we ordered the food, and it just was one of those
01:22deals where it just took a while.
01:24Yeah.
01:24We ate in the car, but I mean, it was probably 15 minutes away from my quarter pounder with
01:29cheese, and the chicken nuggets, and the Happy Meal, and it is what it is.
01:34But yeah, it was a good trip.
01:35Good time.
01:37Like I said, pretty uneventful.
01:38I didn't see Disclosure Day.
01:40Liked it.
01:42It's all right.
01:42It was all right.
01:43That's it.
01:44That's a soft endorsement.
01:46I give it a soft endorsement.
01:47Yeah, very soft.
01:48Four out of five.
01:49Well, we were in Chicago for the weekend.
01:53We were hanging out with Coop's family.
01:54Had an unbelievable time.
01:56We played golf again at the Highlands, although I am definitely on hiatus right now.
02:01My forearm is on fire.
02:02I can only play nine holes.
02:04Golf injury?
02:05I got to get it fixed.
02:06I got to get PT.
02:07I got to get it worked on.
02:10But an unbelievable time.
02:12Went to go see Morgan Wallen.
02:13I know Valdez is going to go see him in a couple weeks.
02:16A lot of people are going to go see him over at M&T.
02:19Great show.
02:19I was shocked.
02:20He played for like two and a half hours.
02:22Really, really good.
02:24Ella Langley was great.
02:25We got there at the end of Gavin Adcock.
02:27He was the opener.
02:28I don't know what time he went on.
02:29Five o'clock, whatever.
02:30That guy's just pounding beers.
02:31I don't know how these guys perform night after night.
02:34He's literally walking around with a Jack Daniels bottle, just taking swigs, big swigs, passing around to the band guys,
02:42finishing off.
02:43And he's shotgunning beers between songs.
02:46That's pretty intense.
02:47It's super intense.
02:48That's a lot going on.
02:49How are you doing this every night that you're touring?
02:52I don't know how you're doing it.
02:54Hard living.
02:55But that was a great time.
02:57We were in downtown Chicago.
02:59Met Coop's dad.
03:01Did it right.
03:01He got these unbelievable tickets.
03:03He rented a Sprinter van.
03:05So we had a driver.
03:06I was first time at Soldier Field, which was very cool.
03:12Yeah.
03:13Just all around great time.
03:15That beautiful house.
03:16Now I'm embarrassed to have them to my house.
03:19They're so organized.
03:22They literally have a showroom house where you open anything you open, and there's a basket, and it's labeled trash
03:30bags.
03:31Or it's a basket.
03:31It's labeled cleaners.
03:33Or it's pretzels.
03:35Literally everything's organized.
03:37Sure, everything has a place.
03:38You open up all their freezer drawers, refrigerator drawers, and the Diet Cokes, 16 of them, just perfectly.
03:44Then the Sprites, perfectly organized.
03:46And then the protein drinks.
03:47And then the creatine, whatever.
03:49And then it's like the most organized house ever.
03:52It just, what an amazing way to live.
03:55And then I look at, I come home to our house, and I've got like old junky computers underneath the
04:00TV.
04:00Yeah.
04:01You know, just crap everywhere.
04:02You're living a different life.
04:03Live a different life.
04:04Different levels.
04:05That's the one percenters that live like that.
04:08It's a really, yeah, it's a nice way to live, though.
04:10I'm organized, but that's the one percenters where everything's a basket.
04:13I think the mom, I think Carrie, at one point was a professional organizer.
04:18I mean, you know what I mean?
04:19She did it for people.
04:20Yeah, well, then that makes sense.
04:21We've tried that.
04:22In fact, like we have those cereal containers where you don't want to just have your cereal boxes.
04:28You've got to put this, pour the cereal into the containers so it looks all fancy.
04:32Yeah, we have some of that.
04:34And then they just sit there a lot of time, and then they get bad.
04:38So it's just better to just have the boxes because you can see the boxes.
04:41Plus, I'd like to know exactly what the cereal is.
04:43If it goes in one of those containers, it can be fabulous.
04:46Yeah, yeah.
04:47Sometimes you're like, is that corn pops?
04:49Yeah, it depends.
04:50I like to have the cereal box because then I know what's doing.
04:54It's not a mystery cereal that I'm going to pour into my bowl.
04:57Right.
04:58So did you feel less than walking out?
05:01Is it a big McMansion, too?
05:03Oh, it's a massive house.
05:05He's got a gym in his house.
05:07He's got a basketball.
05:07He's got three NBA baskets.
05:11Well, that's absurd.
05:11In his indoor gym.
05:12What do the folks do?
05:14I don't know.
05:15I mean, some sort of hedge fund guy.
05:18There's successful people.
05:19But there's a reason why Coop led the Ivy League in shooting and scoring.
05:24The guy gets a lot of reps in.
05:25And by the way, he's a beast golfer, too.
05:28I'm sure.
05:28He probably has an indoor sim in his house.
05:31Well, that's the only thing they don't have.
05:32They don't have a golf sim somehow?
05:35I don't know.
05:36But unbelievable.
05:37We just had a great time.
05:39Really, really sweet family.
05:40So we really enjoyed that.
05:42Again, I got to spend some time with Meg, which I really enjoyed, obviously.
05:46And, of course, Father's Day we all enjoyed, I know, with our kids, which is great.
05:49Although my son is in Ireland with his girlfriend's family.
05:53Ah, very nice.
05:53Look at that.
05:54Going abroad, broadening his horizons.
05:56They're having a good time.
05:57I'm sure.
05:57But you know what's funny?
05:59So who do the Commanders play over in England?
06:05Is it the Titans?
06:06Is it the Titans?
06:07No, it's the Colts.
06:07It's the Colts, right?
06:08The Colts, yeah.
06:09Like five or six.
06:11So Coop's family, they're Colt fans because the parents grew up in Indiana.
06:15Yeah.
06:15They go to a couple, they're going to go to England to watch that game.
06:21They're trying to get the junks, or at least the Bickles, to go to that game, too.
06:27I, of course, keeping everything to a dull roar.
06:29Yeah, you're like, you know what?
06:30I barely go to Landover to watch this team play, let alone need a passport to go watch
06:35the play.
06:35See, so that's what it takes.
06:36Because when I said Gabe Harris wanted us to come out, when Cakes and I played the golf
06:41tournament, and Gabe was saying, you guys need to come out.
06:43Well, you put the kibosh on it.
06:45Well, I just don't know how I could do it, honestly.
06:47An hour and a half flight even to Indy.
06:50Although I could, you know, it would have to be, it would have to have, honest, I mean,
06:55you'd call it whatever class you want to call it, but it has to have extended leg room.
06:58You have to have.
06:59Minimum business class?
07:01The bare minimum.
07:02I mean, I don't want to sound like a snob or anything, but I don't think I'd do a six
07:05hour flight unless I had fully reclined seats, the ability to stretch your legs.
07:12It's torture.
07:13It's torture.
07:14And I'm flying out to Indy now in two weeks for Nationals.
07:17So I got to go back there.
07:19And that's only like an hour and a half flight.
07:20You're traveling, man.
07:21Yeah, it's just busy man.
07:23That's what happens when your kids are good at sports.
07:25Sometimes it's easier when they're not so good.
07:27I'm telling you.
07:28There's less travel involved.
07:29Yeah.
07:30I mean, it's fun.
07:30Wouldn't change it for anything.
07:31But yeah, it's a lot of running around and a lot of uncomfortable flights, a lot of airport
07:39food, a lot of paying $18 for like a tortilla.
07:44A lot of $8 water bottles.
07:45You're blessed to be able to do it.
07:47But my oldest has been lobbying hard.
07:49We have a week off where we do our big family vacation in August.
07:55I think it's August 10th through the 14th is the week that I'm slotted off after Cakes
07:59goes to Keogh, wherever you go, whatever.
08:01It's junkies rotating vacations.
08:03And she keeps sending texts, Mallorca.
08:07Spain?
08:08I know Mallorca's in Spain.
08:10It sounds so expensive.
08:12I haven't yet looked into it.
08:13He's a Spain expert.
08:14He went a couple years ago.
08:15Knows all about it.
08:16She says the water is the bluest you've ever seen.
08:20That's the island off the coast there where Nadal Academy is.
08:25That's where I know.
08:26Yeah, it's probably a tennis connection.
08:28It's probably swanky.
08:29I'm not going for a tennis retreat.
08:32And I don't think I'm going, but she keeps lobbying.
08:34Is that where you played on the red clay?
08:35Remember, didn't you do something where you played on the red clay?
08:38Yeah, yeah.
08:39No, that's everywhere in Spain.
08:41That's everywhere.
08:41Yeah, yeah, yeah.
08:44Just sounds super expensive.
08:45In other words, that's where she wants to do the next family vacation.
08:47Is that what she's saying?
08:48Yeah.
08:49Yeah.
08:51We're pretty much Outer Banks people.
08:53Pretty cheap.
08:54It's pretty reasonable.
08:55Driveable.
08:56Yeah, get there in four and a half hours.
08:58Leave early.
08:59Yeah, we did Outer Banks.
09:00We have the timeshare and Kitty Hawk.
09:01So it was fine.
09:03On the golf course, I was going to play golf on Friday.
09:05And that was, of course, the one day it rained.
09:08Right.
09:08So it rained you out?
09:09Rained out.
09:10Didn't play golf.
09:11Well, we snuck on later because our condo is on the 10th hole.
09:15And at night, nobody's on there.
09:17So me and my buddy Giovanni just jumped on 10, played 10 through 14.
09:23And then it got pitch black.
09:25Jumped on late.
09:27But good times.
09:29You guys are playing golf today, right?
09:31If we can dodge the weather, yes.
09:32The Purple Heart opened today at International Country Club.
09:35What are they saying?
09:36I haven't even looked at the weather.
09:37I have no idea.
09:37Storms could be rolling in after 2 o'clock.
09:40Could get a little dicey.
09:41Could get dicey.
09:42But what time do you guys go off?
09:43Probably noon, I would assume.
09:45And the force of this year is?
09:48Flakes, Valdez, Drabby, Mike Marr, I believe.
09:52Nice.
09:52I believe that's your force.
09:53Well, Marr better get it together because he called out from work this morning.
09:56Why?
09:56Because his car didn't start.
09:58Oh, no.
09:58Oh, no.
09:59Trouble for him.
10:00He better get to AutoZone or whatever and get a new battery and get out there and take
10:06an Uber or something.
10:08He's got an Uber.
10:09He got at least Uber.
10:11Yeah, I don't know.
10:13Well, if he doesn't make it, then Valdez, you get all of his shots.
10:16You get to shoot twice.
10:19Extra heavy lifting.
10:20From what I recall, Mike's shots didn't help that much last time.
10:23Yeah, but he's the vibes guy, right?
10:24He's there for the vibes.
10:25He's the vibes guy.
10:26Good times guy.
10:27Right, right.
10:28Smokes guy.
10:29He might have sank a few putts.
10:32I don't know.
10:32He might have.
10:33It's always possible, right?
10:35That's the easy part.
10:36I know we're not going to be in contention.
10:37That part I do know.
10:39Unless Valdez has the round of his life.
10:42Valdez is already shaking his head.
10:43He knows this is a long day in front of him.
10:46All right.
10:46So, as I mentioned, you've got a lot to get into in the world of sports.
10:49The World Cup has been awesome.
10:50We'll talk about the United States.
10:53They've now already clinched their division.
10:56They've advanced to the knockout round with their win over Australia 2-0 on Friday.
11:01We'll get into that.
11:03Got the NBA draft tomorrow.
11:04And when we come back, let's get into the U.S. Open.
11:07What's it like to win a major when everybody's against you?
11:10What's it like to win a major when everybody's against you?
11:10What's it like to win a major when everybody's against you?
