00:00:49This event was first reintroduced underneath the WWE banner back in 2017.
00:00:54That means tonight, Starrcade is live for the first time in 19 years.
00:00:58Tom, you mentioned 19. I'm going to throw another number your way.
00:01:0136. 36 years ago, Starrcade began.
00:01:04And just imagine the excitement, the opportunity for these superstars
00:01:08to add their name to the legacy of Starrcade here tonight.
00:01:11The brainchild of the late WWE Hall of Famer, the American Dream, Dusty Rhodes.
00:01:16And Byron, we've got some great action here tonight.
00:01:18Talk about great action. Talk about the love triangle, the turbulence,
00:01:22the turmoil between Rusev, Lana, and Bobby Lashley.
00:01:25Tonight, Rusev gets his hands on Bobby Lashley in a last-man-standing match.
00:01:30And, Tom, you know the rules.
00:01:31You must incapacitate your opponent until the referee's count of 10 to win.
00:01:36And also tonight, the WWE Women's Tag Team titles are on the line.
00:01:41And the rules of that matchup in a fatal four-way.
00:01:43Only two superstars are legal in the ring at a time.
00:01:46You can tag in and out whomever you want.
00:01:48But the first team to gain pinfall or submission wins the match.
00:01:51That means the champions, the Kabuki Warriors, do not have to be involved in the decision
00:01:55to lose their titles here tonight at Starrcade.
00:01:58If I'm the Kabuki Warriors, I am extremely concerned about whether or not
00:02:01I'm leaving Starrcade with the tag team titles.

00:02:32Well, a tremendous way to get it started here tonight at Starrcade.
00:02:36Kevin Owens has had a tumultuous week, to say the least.
00:02:39He stepped toe-to-toe with Seth Rollins to kick off Raw this past week
00:02:43and gave the Architect a stunner.
00:02:45But it was in the main event firing later that night.
00:02:47He ran into A.O.P.
00:02:50Kevin Owens, the recipient of the damage that can be constructed by A.O.P.
00:02:55You've got to wonder how he's feeling here tonight.

00:03:31the biggest Kevin Owens Show I've ever done because of who my guest is.

00:04:27to retain the world title with the legend, Smokin' Joe Frazier as the special guest referee.

00:04:34You think about legends like Dusty, like Roddy Piper, like Sting, the list goes on,
00:04:39and yet there is not one man who is more synonymous with Starrcade than the Nature Boy.

00:06:55But Thanksgiving, for me, and Roman Reigns brought it to my attention when I watched Roman Friday
00:07:04night.
00:07:05He thanked everybody, you, his family, the people that work with him, which are his family.
00:07:15Make no mistake, we don't always get along, but we are a family.
00:07:21Unlike none other.
00:07:24And we're a family that takes pride.
00:07:2736 years ago, nobody back there that's going to be wrestling tonight was alive.

00:08:24Behind that curtain, you've got 30 people here tonight that want to come out here and
00:08:31show you why they are the best in wrestling today.

00:13:54Two teams extremely familiar with each other.
00:13:57In fact, about a month and a half ago, the Street Profits, when they made their debut on
00:14:02Raw, they actually defeated Gallows' manager.
00:14:04And a lot of dealings.
00:14:05They've been backing up Humberto Correa when he was pursuing, then United States Champion
00:14:10AJ Styles for his title.
00:14:11But now it's all about the Street Profits and Gallows' and Anderson.
00:14:15And Gallows' and Anderson, to the point that Kevin Owens made, are still bringing up the
00:14:19pass.
00:14:19Yes, they did win the World Cup for the best tag team in the world in October at Crown Jewel.
00:14:25But still, a lot has happened since.
00:14:26I believe that was the best mother-loving tag team in the world.
00:14:29I stand corrected.

00:14:36This is fitting because the first match in Starrcade history was, in fact, the tag team

00:15:09And Dawkins, tremendous athlete, won national championships in three sports, football, wrestling,
00:15:14and track.
00:15:15You've known Dawkins for a long time.
00:15:17You know what it means for him to not only be here at this point, a part of the raw

00:15:21but what does it mean to him and all the other superstars who compete in tribute to Starrcade?
00:15:26Well, listen, Dawkins has, you know, all the years he's been training at the Performance
00:15:30Center in Orlando, Florida, developed a great respect for the history.

00:15:37Of sports entertainment, he told me earlier, listen, I got serious goosebumps that I'm
00:15:40going to be on this event, but I'm going to be able to tell my kids one day that I

00:17:45You just always feel a special energy.
00:17:47Whenever you just call it, whether it's Raw, whether it's a Smack Tag, there's a special
00:17:50energy amongst the WWE Universe, which is, I think, a direct correlation to just how much
00:17:55history we've seen in this town.

00:18:09Smart strategy by Anderson trying to cut down the air supply of Montez Ford, which will take
