00:00We stay in a museum. Our final guest of the day is History Veri, a French startup that built the
00:12Histopad, an interactive tablet you use in the museums and heritage sites to see history come alive in front of
00:23you.
00:23The Histopad traveled the world with the Notre-Dame exhibition after the 2019 fire used at the Conciergerie in Paris,
00:34the Chateau Chambord and thousands of other heritage sites.
00:40Please welcome Bruno De Samorella, CEO and co-founder, and Quentin Defoe, business developer from Histopad.
00:54Gentlemen, the discovery stage is yours.
01:00Can we have a round of applause for the last speaker?
01:06Yes, yes you can. One more.
01:09Guys.
01:11Bonjour Ă tous. Hi everybody.
01:14We're very happy to be concluding this day and actually to be following up Sofia
01:21because we do have a project together with Ask Mona and we look forward to telling you more about that.
01:27So in Histopadry we are creating time traveling experiences.
01:32The idea is to create interactive and immersive journey into history.
01:41We would do that in museums, in monuments, in touristical sites and now as well in exhibition.
01:51And today we are happy to share with you the latest news from the latest exhibition we are exhibiting in
02:00the United States,
02:01American Revolution for the 250th anniversary of the creation of the United States.
02:09So this exhibition is actually in three different cities, in New Orleans, in Charlotte in North Carolina and in Washington
02:20DC.
02:21And I suggest to share with you a very brief video clip so you'll be able to see what it
02:29looks like.
02:34And we can run the video.
02:48Stand back, young man.
02:54For god's sake, take care of your men.
02:57With big fires your life must be answerable.
03:23It's the whole damn Royal Navy.
03:35We must all hang together, or most assuredly, we shall all hang separately.
03:47Among these are life, liberty, and the pursuit of happiness.
04:20It looks like a video game, but it's not a game.
04:24It's history.
04:25Every images you've seen have been validated by the Experts Comedy,
04:31which is a group of very talented and recognized experts that helped us reconstruct the past.
04:41And so together with Quantine, we would like to show you what you would do if you would be in
04:48this exhibition today.
04:50So you would be equipped with the HistoPad tablet, and you would scan 20 time portals,
04:57and each one of them is taking you back in time to one place of the revolution.
05:02Here, we're traveling back to 1776, the very night of December 25,
05:09when the army of George Washington is desperate after losing so many battles against the British.
05:17So the last chance is now to cross the river and to surprise the enemy on the other side.
05:23But how can you do that with so little boats, so little support?
05:29This is what we explain here at the very place where it did happen.
05:34So perhaps we want to compare 1776 to today.
05:38That's what we do. That's where we are today, exactly the same spot.
05:41So not only are you traveling back in time, but you are also traveling in space and visiting the United
05:48States.
05:49This today is a national park, and this house was there, part of it.
05:54And you could click on all the white dots. Let's click on Washington, for instance.
05:59Let's see where he is, the general.
06:02Actually, there he is. He's on a ferry, and that ferry will help him cross the river with cannons, with
06:08horses, back and forth.
06:09He's telling us, you can't hear well, but we've done research about his accent, his language, his tone.
06:19Every detail has been researched and validated with our experts.
06:26It's very interactive. Anyone can do it. You click on images, so every generation is able to enjoy this journey
06:35into history.
06:37And actually, what we see is that it's bringing more people to be interested by it.
06:42So now I'm learning, what's this yellow thing, Quentin? Can you click on this yellow thing?
06:47That's a treasure hunt game for the kids. So you did find the piece of the treasure, and if you
06:53put it in your treasure chest, you'll see all the other treasures you can find.
06:58But of course, you would have to visit the whole thing and move to the next scene.
07:03So now, all the kids, they don't want to leave without finding all treasures and visiting the whole piece.
07:11So, if we go back to the main scene, well, you would learn that this Durham boat, it's interactive,
07:19and you could explore that object in a way and learn about so many topics because of its interactive quality.
07:30Those experiences will take you through 25 years of history, and if you go back to the main scene, I
07:40think you got the idea.
07:42So I'm going to move on to the next. If we can go back to the presentation, please.
07:52Now it's time also to do a little time travel with VivaTech. We're so happy to be back for the
07:5910th year of VivaTech because actually the proof of concept of this idea to bring a place somewhere else was
08:08invented here in 2017 when we brought the Chambord Castle in Paris, in VivaTech, and that was the proof of
08:16concept of what we do today.
08:19In 2021, we had the opportunity to do a D-Day exhibition at the National Museum of the US Air
08:27Force, and there for six months, we were able to welcome visitors and to let them enjoy what happened in
08:35Normandy with an experience that we developed in partnership with the Museum of Sainte Mer Eglise.
08:43So now we were able to export our heritage, export our museums abroad with this format of traveling exhibition.
08:52For the past years, we had Notre Dame de Paris visiting the world, 15 different countries, 19 cities, Asia, Australia,
09:04America, Europe.
09:05So you can see the round and reaching one million visitors that gave us the average rank of 4.8
09:14out of five, which tells you about the satisfaction they felt about this experience.
09:20And let me share with you one of our videos from Shanghai that L'Oréal, our godfather for this project,
09:30did with us.
09:31If we can play the video.
09:38If you press.
09:41Yes, if we can play the video.
11:14Thank you. So this world tour, thanks to Le Groupe L'Oréal, was able to demonstrate that this format of
11:25the augmented visit experience can speak to any culture, any age, any language.
11:30And today, we are developing the American Revolution for its American tour. And at the same time, we continue to
11:40bring these augmented experiences in all these different locations that are mostly in Europe, except for the Alamo in Texas.
11:48And we look forward to equipping more partners with new projects and new formats that are also going out of
11:56the tablet, so to speak, with an online version of it and with a VR version of it.
12:03As soon as you have a digital world, it's possible to adapt it to all the different types of screens
12:10and displays there is.
12:13So I will conclude by saying that soon we hope to let you also encounter historical characters together with Ask
12:21Mona.
12:22We want to develop a new feature that will help you in the visit, talk to George Washington, ask him
12:29questions, and get his validated answers.
12:33VoilĂ . Thank you very much.
12:36Thank you, Bruno. Thank you, Quentin. Thank you so much.
12:44If you have some questions, you can come to see them right after.
