Today, I'm grateful for my parents' arrival to help during my upcoming hysterectomy. There's a saying that no matter how old you are, you'll always need your mom, and I felt that truth when I hugged her today. I truly need her support right now. My dad is also a wonderful addition to the team. Interestingly, my kids sensed that Grandma needed their affection first, even though they usually rush to their Boppa. I really need her here to feel reassured. Honestly, as brave as I try to be for my kids and myself, the thought of tomorrow fills me with fear. I've been on the other side, singing my daughter to sleep before surgery multiple times, and I never imagined I'd be in this position. It's as if I've been holding it together until my mom hugged me, and then I couldn't anymore. It's a cry that brings relief because it was necessary. Does that resonate? The truth is, mothers possess a unique magic that comforts their children, no matter their age.
