Transcript
00:00For almost a decade, the Malaysian Animal Welfare Association
00:04has been providing abandoned and abused animals with a safe place to call home.
00:11Its main shelter in Hululangat is run by husband and wife team
00:15Mukunan Sugumuran and Anuradha Gopal Singham.
00:19Despite their dedication, rising costs and constant rescue demands
00:23are making it harder to keep the shelter running.
00:26Mawa needs about RM45,000 a month to care for its animals and keep operations going.
00:34It is also burdened by outstanding vet fees and other debts.
00:39The Hululangat shelter is currently home to 370 dogs, 12 cats and 9 tortoises.
00:46Mawa also houses another 50 dogs in Puchong, all rescued from a pound.
00:52Many of these animals have led difficult lives and now depend on the shelter for a second chance.
00:59Mawa may also be forced to relocate soon and is urgently looking for a new site that can better support
01:05its operations.
01:07Every donation from the public helps keep the shelter's doors open for the animals that depend on it.
01:13Whether it's a bag of kibble or helping with vet bills, your contribution can give these animals a brighter future.
01:21Donations can be made to Persatuan Kebajikan Haiwan Malaysia.
01:26May bank account number 5623 8452 4376.
