00:00Speaking of love, I want to thank to my partner, friend, wife, and amazing mother, Penelope,
00:08and our two beloved miracles, Leo and Luna, for their support in me chasing my artistic
00:18passion and their patience to put up with me.
00:22I adore you.
00:24To my dear and loving friend, Elise Schertz, for being next to me during all these years
00:32and also putting up a lot with me.
00:36Thank you to the TCL Chinese Theatre and Elie Samaha for including me in this historic tradition.
00:44And finally, thank you to Apple TV and to Cape Fear's amazing creative teams.
00:48Never playing such an intense character had been more fun and enjoyable.
00:55And, well, finally, I guess Max Cady is someone who is not afraid to get his hands dirty.
01:02So I guess I've done more than enough preparation to now get into some cement.
01:08Thank you all for being here. What an honor. Thank you.
01:14Michael and Dennis, thank you so much for taking the time to come here and share these beautiful, kind words
01:23that I obviously don't deserve, but I take them all. I take them all.
01:28You two are some of the best directors in the whole world and beyond.
01:34And I feel incredibly privileged to have had the opportunity to work with you both in these amazing projects
01:43that will stay with me for the rest of my life. Thank you.
01:48Los Angeles has been generous to me in ways I didn't ever expect.
01:53And I've come to understand why so many people from so many corners of the world find their way here.
02:01No matter how many trumps in power or icy ice agents on the streets, people continue to come,
02:11believing in the possibilities this city represents.
02:15For many of us, those possibilities were found in this film community, in our love of storytelling,
02:23and in the opportunity to share those stories with audiences all around the world.
02:32Even in difficult times, when fear and division can seem louder than hope,
02:38people continue to come here wanting to be part of this film community,
02:42drawn by a love of the stories we tell and the opportunity to share them.
02:48And above all else, one thing is certain, I wouldn't be standing here without my mother, Pilar.
02:57She's, I would say, the most important person in my education, obviously.
03:02And one very important lesson I learned from her as an actress is that you never get married to success
03:10or failure,
03:11because both are a lie.
03:14If you commit to this career, it must be with discipline, grit, and endurance.
03:21And she must be freaking out now, seeing her son's feet and hands near Jack Lemmon and Gregory Peck, by
03:27the way.
03:29But the most important lesson that I learned from her is to never give up your voice for the injustice
03:35and those who are not listened often.
03:38That's why I keep denouncing the genocide in Gaza, along with the brutal violence of the settlers in the West
03:46Bank.
03:47They both are crimes that frame us all in this time in history.
03:53And I just wish that, as the Israeli and Palestinian fathers and best friends now, Rami and Bassam say,
04:03we choose to build bridges rather than digging graves.
04:08Because we have to remind ourselves that love is always, always, always stronger than hate.
04:24I am so grateful to everyone I have worked with over the years, because to be able to explore complex
04:32characters
04:33alongside some of the best actors, directors, and producers like Jerry Bruckheimer in the world is something that I never
04:44take for granted.
04:46There is something about the energy of getting together to create a film that is very unique.
04:54The focus, the way everyone works together toward a single shared vision that feels more alive to me than anything
05:05else I have ever experienced in my life.
05:08That's what I love about making movies. The union. The thing where you are part of something way bigger and
05:18more important than yourself.
05:20And it's safe to assume that I certainly never imagined standing here at the historic TCL Chinese Theatre preparing to
05:30pull my hands and feet in cement.
05:34It's an honor to be part of this remarkable Hollywood tradition to be included amongst so many extraordinary, iconic artists
05:44who have left a lasting impact on our cinema.
05:51Because that's for sure it's a humbling experience. And when I think about the names that have stood on this
05:58very spot, it's hard for me to believe that it's real.
06:02Though maybe I will once the cement dries.
06:09No, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no, no,
06:21no, no, no, no, no.
06:22Okay, now, the most important part of my body.
06:27Woo!
06:29Not that one.
06:32That's fairly important at all.
06:36I was a vitesse.
06:49That's my note, nobody knows, except you.
06:52Thank you very much.
06:53Thank you very much.
06:58Thank you very much.
06:58Thank you very much.
07:01Thank you very much.
07:08Thank you very much.
07:15Thank you very much.
07:19I cannot do those fields at the same time.
07:26I'm an actor, I'm not a man.
07:29I cannot do those fields at the same time.
07:33Okay, hold on.
07:35I think I've done it.
07:37And hold it.
07:38A little sunshine, a little sunshine.
07:41A little love.
07:42Okay.
