00:00Who is the fastest player in World Cup history?
00:02You might say a young Cristiano Ronaldo, Mbappe when he went on that run against Argentina in 2018,
00:07or even Arjen Robben back in the day against Sergio Ramos.
00:10But the truth is, the way we measure player speed has changed.
00:14At the 2022 World Cup in Qatar, we had cameras all around the stadium tracking players,
00:19but before that, speed was even calculated by watching videos
00:22and seeing how many grass stripes players would run past per frame.
00:26So although the initial reports of 37 kilometers per hour for Arjen Robben in 2014
00:31would have made him the fastest player in World Cup history by far,
00:34it wasn't actually true.
00:35His real top speed was around 31 kilometers per hour,
00:38which wouldn't even put him in the top 10 in Qatar.
00:40That was the first tournament we ever had advanced cameras to track speed,
00:43and the results were kind of interesting.
00:45Vinny Jr. didn't even make the top 10.
00:47Tejan Buchanan clocked in at 35.2 kilometers per hour.
00:50Then it was actually Kylian Mbappe and Hakimi at 35.3 kilometers per hour.
00:54Ismaili Saar, Anthony Robinson, and Dan James clocked in at 35.4 kilometers per hour.
00:59Germany left-back David Rahm was the fourth fastest,
01:01followed by Alphonso Davies and Nico Williams,
01:03who both clocked in at 35.6 kilometers per hour.
01:06Follow along to see who breaks it this summer,
01:08but officially, with all the cameras and stuff,
01:10Solimana is at number one.
01:11Take 9.5 claustroredondium salt.
01:11Take 9.4 and you come up with it on the cabinet right now.
