00:00The first balloting is in from the MLB All-Star fan vote,
00:04and the balloting in the National League is kind of interesting.
00:07I want to go outfield and then infield with the DH spot.
00:11Shohei Otani, obviously the top vote-getter.
00:13Kyle Schwarber is number two, just on the outside looking in.
00:16Dominic Smith, Christian Yelich, Ivan Herrera.
00:18And I say just on the outside, there's like a 500,000-vote difference
00:21between Schwarber and Dominic Smith.
00:23But the outfield right now, Andy Pajes is the top vote-getter
00:28among NL outfielders.
00:30Ronald Acuna Jr. is number two.
00:32Brandon Marsh of the Phillies, number three.
00:34Four, five, and six is Michael Harris, Teoscar Hernandez,
00:38and Jordan Walker, thank goodness.
00:40Now on the outside looking in, James Wood in Washington,
00:45Corbin Carroll in Arizona, Juan Soto in New York.
00:49That is amazing.
00:51Amazing that we could be looking at James Wood not being,
00:55pushing to the second round.
00:57Same with Pete Crow Armstrong, to be totally honest with you.
01:00Just crazy that we could be looking at that right now.
01:03But at the end of the day, man, this is a fan vote.
01:05There are holes in that.
01:07What would you like to see changed in round two of ballet?
01:10Where do we start?
01:13Where do you want to start?
01:14Well, you want to go by position real quick?
01:15Like, yeah.
01:17I got no major qualms, relatively speaking, with catcher.
01:22Obviously, Kirk needs to go a little bit lower.
01:24But the Canada bump is just very clear here.
01:27And the Canada bump is just going to be a thing.
01:29But also, like, Canada, you should bump your own,
01:33even if they don't play for the Blue Jays.
01:35Like, Otto Lopez, odds were all circled.
01:36And I don't want to take your thunder here, Jack.
01:38I'll tee you up for it.
01:39But I kind of made that connection there.
01:43Otto Lopez, I understand he plays for the Marlins.
01:46And I understand that the Marlins are not one of baseball's biggest markets.
01:49But we're looking at a situation here where, I mean, I know that there's ways to make it work
01:56so that you can get guys in there.
01:57But Otto Lopez being in the five spot behind Trey Turner,
02:02who's been putrid and is getting booed by his own fans right now.
02:05So they boo him and then they vote for him.
02:07That's wild.
02:08Ellie De La Cruz is hurt as much like a Mookie Betts just got over the Mendoza line.
02:12And then C.J. Abrams has been fantastic.
02:14I can understand that, obviously.
02:16But that's a tough one right there where Otto's that far out.
02:19Yeah, I'm ready to talk about Otto Lopez if you want.
02:22Peyton, if you wouldn't mind flashing the NL All-Star fan vote one more time,
02:27I'll give you the rundown in the National League as well.
02:30So Drake Baldwin, Will Smith, two top vote getters at the catching position.
02:34First base is Freddie Freeman and Matt Olsen with Harper on the outside looking in.
02:37Albies and Stott with Bryce Terang on the outside and Louisa Rize and Brandon Lau on the outside.
02:42That's also tough.
02:43So, boom, man, who could forget his month of April?
02:46I was saving some energy for that one, yeah.
02:50Yeah, we'll stick on NL shortstop for a minute here because it's Abrams, Mookie Betts,
02:55Ellie De La Cruz, Trey Turner, then Otto Lopez, followed by Hasan Kim,
02:58Dansby Swanson, Mason Wynn, Connor Griffin, and Joey Ortiz.
03:01It falls off very, very quickly.
03:04Yeah, I'll rant for a minute here.
03:07Otto Lopez, so far this year, not only is pacing Major League Baseball in batting average by north
03:13of 10 points, not only pacing Major League Baseball in base hits, but he's pacing Major League Baseball
03:18in multi-hit days.
03:20I think Otto has played 72 games so far this year.
03:24He has 30 multi-hit games.
03:27He has 15 hitless games.
03:29He has double the number of multi-hit games that he does games where he leaves with zero knocks.
03:36That is a ridiculous tally for a hit accumulator.
03:39The air total, listen, I don't think fans on the fan vote are going to air total.
03:44I also don't think anybody that is going to sabermetrically or analytically vote is going to air total,
03:50but the air total was a little inflated at the front month of the year.
03:54Otto Lopez still grades out as a very, very good defensive shortstop.
03:58He is, and I was actually just making this case on Tobin and Leroy on WQAM earlier this
04:04morning in Miami.
04:05He is as well-rounded a shortstop as there is in the National League that is healthy right
04:10now.
04:11Eli de la Cruz is not healthy right now.
04:13I understand why he's getting voted in because Eli was awesome when he was on the field.
04:17And he's out.
04:17But right now, yeah, and there's no better product on the baseball field at shortstop in
04:22the National League than Otto Lopez.
04:24So please go vote for him at MLB.com.
