00:06The rich heritage and culture of international and South American football
00:11was celebrated at an exhibition in the Paraguayan capital Asuncion
00:15to coincide with the 75th FIFA Congress, which the country hosted for the first time.
00:24The historic exhibition, titled FIFA 120th Year Anniversary, featured original trophies,
00:32football relics and interactive experiences, and was jointly organised by the FIFA Museum
00:38and the Museo Conmebol.
00:43Paraguay's hosting of the 75th FIFA Congress in May 2025 coincided with 100 years of FIFA
00:50membership, the Paraguayan Football Association having joined at the 14th Ordinary Congress
00:58in Prague in May 1925.
01:04Yes, it's fantastic to be here in Asuncion and we have this special exhibition for three
01:09days here, together with Conmebol for the 120 years of FIFA and 110 years of Conmebol.
01:16So, we brought some iconic trophies here for the people of Paraguay and also the delegates
01:22of the FIFA Congress to visit.
01:23So, we are very happy that we could do this together with Conmebol.
01:26So, thanks as well to the President of Conmebol, Alejandro Dominguez and FIFA Vice President, of
01:34course.
01:35And now, happy and proud to see this.
01:37And I'm sure it will be a big success in the next couple of days with a lot of passionate
01:42Paraguayan fans who will be able to see the FIFA World Cup, the FIFA Club World Cup, the
01:48FIFA Women's World Cup and also the Conmebol trophies, the Copa Libertadores, the Copa America.
01:53So, yeah, very proud and excited.
01:56They're very important because, you know, we have a duty as FIFA to bring football all
02:02around the world.
02:02And today, we are here in Paraguay.
02:04We have the FIFA Congress in two days.
02:07And to bring these trophies to the passionate people of Paraguay, I had the opportunity to
02:13visit the league game earlier this week.
02:15And you could see, you know, the big passion they have.
02:18And everybody I talked to here in Paraguay have a connection with football.
02:22They all have a favorite club and, of course, the national team.
02:24So, to enable us to bring these trophies and this beautiful exhibition, this is what FIFA
02:31is about.
02:32And, you know, showing football and also the iconic things that football and FIFA have
02:38created.
02:39And, unfortunately, you can't always have the opportunity to see and to bring it here
02:44is something really special and that we, as an organization, are very proud of.
