00:00Arc Raiders is a fascinating petri dish of human behavior.
00:04Why exactly does this game have so many peaceful, friendly players?
00:09I mean, come on, it's a shooter, that's a game genre notorious for cutthroat competition.
00:15And yet, the volume of friendly players in Arc Raiders is huge, with only 30% of players
00:20focusing on PvP.
00:22But why?
00:22Turns out, we're not the only ones pondering this behavior.
00:25Arc Raiders developer Embark Studios was contacted by a criminologist, who was really intrigued
00:31by how players are interacting with each other.
00:34Arc Raiders executive producer Alexander Grondahl says that it kind of blew the whole extraction
00:40shooter open because it doesn't always have to be about conflict with the other player.
00:46So let's take a look at some of the Arc Raiders stats Grondahl reveals.
00:50Only 30% of Arc Raiders players actively focus on PvP.
00:54Another 30% focus on PvE, and the remaining 40% are somewhere in the middle.
01:00But overall, roughly 20% of players have never knocked out a single Raider, while nearly 50%
01:06have fewer than 10 KOs.
01:09What a nice bunch.
