U.S. gas prices fell below $4 per gallon after a U.S.-Iran deal eased oil costs and reopened the Strait of Hormuz.

00:11According to a GasBuddy post on X, the national average gas price dropped more than $0.09 over the past
00:17week to $3.99 per gallon, though prices remain well above pre-Iran war levels.
00:22The drop came as oil prices eased following a deal between the U.S. and Iran to reopen the Strait
00:28of Hormuz, a maritime route that carries about one-fifth of global oil supply.
00:33Trump announced the agreement in a Sunday social media post.
00:36U.S. oil prices fell to about $84 a barrel on Friday, a drop of roughly 20% from a
00:42May 19th peak.
00:44Analysts cautioned that prices could rise again if Middle East tensions escalate and noted that gas prices typically fall more
00:50slowly than they rise.
