00:00Antonio Spurs, their season ends in bitter disappointment after coming into the series
00:04favored and frankly have an opportunity to win every single game. This series was not far from
00:11the Spurs winning in five or even sweeping. I think as compared to anything before this is the
00:19biggest lesson of my life, the biggest learning moment. I can't tell exactly what the lesson is
00:23but we're learning from that for sure. I'm learning more than any other time in my life before.
00:31We weren't ready to win an NBA championship. The better team won. We did a lot of good things
00:36and we didn't finish the job and that's what it is. The San Antonio Spurs led the NBA Finals for
00:4672%
00:47of the minutes played and lost in five. If I'm a fan of the San Antonio Spurs, I am absolutely
00:54disgusted. While giving the Knicks all the credit in the world and it all starts with the Knicks
01:00and this act from Victor Wambanyama walking off the floor without shaking hands,
01:05you know what that is? Loser behavior from a loser. That's what we witnessed from Victor Wambanyama
01:13and the San Antonio Spurs. Think about it. Confetti falls. What does Jalen Brunson do?
01:21Looks for Mitch Johnson. That's what the face of the NBA does. That's what the epitome of class does.
01:27That's what winners do. Losers walk off and don't shake hands. Don't congratulate the opposition.
01:34I thought the San Antonio Spurs embarrassed themselves in this series. They were awful when it mattered the
01:41most. Completely unlikable. Poorly coached. Victor Wambanyama was as dirty as it gets. We talked about
01:49him during the course of the regular season, the postseason, as an alien, as a freak, as the face
01:56of the NBA. He's not even close to being the face of the NBA. His dirty play was awful. The
02:04way that he
02:05elbowed, obviously, in the second round, Nas Reed. I mean, look at this. Oh, I mean, it's disgusting.
02:11And he was getting away with on-court murder during the NBA finals. What happened with Jalen Brunson
02:17throughout the course of this series was just awful. Getting away with whatever he wanted,
02:23right? I mean, dirty play, nonsense. You know, what he did with Brunson, what he did with cats. I mean,
02:29this is a dirty ball player. The NBA should suspend him. Just take a look at the flavor that wasn't
02:35called for game five. He should suspend them for game one of the regular season coming up. I mean,
02:41hey, he's not going to play in game six because he's a losing player and it didn't make it. Seven
02:45points in a fourth quarter, averaging that in the fourth quarter in the five games. I mean,
02:50just look at this. Look at this. These numbers are pathetic. These numbers are embarrassing.
02:56I mean, face of the league. He's making funny faces and he's hiding his face because he's
03:01watching what I'm watching. His own highlights. I honestly have just, I've lost a lot of respect
03:08for Victor Wimbanyama. I'm sorry. He's a losing ball player and he now officially has something
03:14to prove. Is it fair to blame him? Sure. I'm not writing him off for his career. I want to
03:19make
03:19sure that I'm crystal clear on that. But Victor Wimbanyama had a golden opportunity to win a championship
03:26and he showed classless play, immaturity and complete and utter nonsense. And even with this,
03:33and he had to know that retribution was coming for, you know, getting away with just chucking
03:37the captain and throwing Brunson away. And then he's pointing at his noggin. You know,
03:41you could say in the game, obviously, where the Knicks had the greatest comeback in the history of
03:46the NBA finals. This point was the turning point. Go chronicle everything in the rest of the series
03:53from that moment on. Victor Wimbanyama acting like a petulant child changed everything. And my personal
04:01favorite thing from Brunson, when you look at what transpired on, on Saturday night when he was able
04:08to take it to Wemby with that dribble drive, I just, I loved it. By the way, the MVP for
04:13the Knicks was
04:14Jalen Brunson. You know, I didn't see the final votes, but I have to imagine De'Aaron Fox was number
04:18two on the list. De'Aaron Fox, like all the Knicks, he will never have to buy a drink in
04:24New York
04:24ever again. I mean, I think during the first portion of the show tonight, Fox missed five more shots.
04:30His play at the end of game four, his stupidity, his foolishness was mind-numbing. He missed shot
04:36after shot after shot, turnover after turnover after turnover. And this was a wretched, gutless,
04:42pathetic performance all the way around from De'Aaron Fox and Victor Wimbanyama and the San Antonio
04:48Spurs. Look, Stephon Castle, who I love, he didn't play well in game five. But the problem
04:54is when you look at it here, when it comes to the San Antonio Spurs, you know, everyone keeps
05:00saying, well, they'll be back. So, which team am I taking in the West for the next five years? Spurs
05:12on, well, it's going to be Wemby's time to shine. We'll get them next year. They're the current
05:16favorites in Vegas. Listen, everyone was knocking the Knicks, which was amateur hour, for all that
05:22took advantage of the week east. You know, the Spurs, no one talked about the fact that
05:26they beat OKC when they didn't have their second best player. And J-Dub's backup, Mitchell,
05:32was out as well. So, of course, I favor the OKC Thunder. Now that obviously means Chet Holmgren
05:40needs to play better. Obviously, they need to be healthy. I still think that Oklahoma City
05:45will enter next year as the, and we'll see what happens. We have plenty of time this week
05:50to get into it. Trades, Giannis, LeBron, all of it. But the Thunder are more equipped and
05:57more mentally tough and have more big game experience than San Antonio. And look, this
06:03Dylan Harper's unbelievable. Castle's fantastic. Wemby has a lot of growing up to do. And yeah,
06:08he won a game six and he won a game seven in OKC. In terms of trust, I trust Shane
06:15Gillis
06:16Alexander more. I trust the coaching staff and the general manager when it comes to the Thunder
06:23versus Mitch Johnson, who couldn't coach his way out of a paper bag. It's as simple as
06:29that. Spurs are going to have a golden opportunity with their youth to run it back, obviously.
06:34But I'm telling you right now, I would take the Thunder over the Spurs over the next five
06:41years in the Western Conference.
